Chapter 753: For Victory and Glory, Charge!
Trix didn't even try to dodge just now, making no redundant evasive movements, calmly and continuously healing her teammates.
Aside from the magical force shattering Trix's shield, her whole body was blasted away by this strike, yet she sustained almost zero physical damage.
This elite squad, within a brief moment of engagement, had already displayed supreme coordination and absolute trust in their comrades.
If the teammate's Hand of Protection had been a fraction of a second too late during that strike, Trix would surely have been torn to pieces by that horrific blow!
Yet they seemed to fight for every single second of this sliver of healing time, because they understood that to defeat such a powerful opponent, they had not a single moment of indulgence to waste.
The very instant Trix was sent flying, a light of life descended upon her head, and Elder Xivi healed her wounds with absolutely no pause.
"Charge!" the warriors roared, stepping up to the front once more.
"Watch out for its teleportation (for conciseness in command, we use this descriptive term)!" the dwarf Ralph bellowed.
As a Main Tank, allowing the boss to breach the backline was absolutely their ultimate disgrace.
"This tactic won't work against that guy, right?" The Dwarf King had obviously seen through their strategy—having the dwarves restrict Neth's movements so the backline could cast spells in peace.
But this was an idealized scenario; as a powerful entity capable of tearing through space to escape, how could he possibly be bound in place by a few cumbersome warriors?
"Utterly foolish!" the Sword Saint, Cleus, cold-snorted, "Does he take everyone else for a fool?"
It would be one thing if they hadn't witnessed the opponent's ability to rip through space and leave, but now that they had seen it, they still did this?
"It seems they are at their wits' end," at this moment, a Saint-level mage who had evacuated alongside the Radiant Divine Kingdom spoke up, "To think I actually thought they were formidable."
Even the Elven Queen frowned at this moment; a peak Saint-level powerhouse was not something you could just intercept at will. Having already seen this tactic once, how could it possibly work again?
At this moment, the dwarf Ralph abruptly abandoned his defensive formation, swinging his heavy shield to smash it fiercely right at the opponent's forehead!
Shield Slam!
Revenge!
Sunder Armor!
Strike after strike rained down toward Neth, Lord of Energy. Though all were dodged or blocked, this short fellow, standing under one and a half meters tall, actually leapt from his mount, raising his battle-axe and roaring: "Scum of the Shadow Legion! Dare you fight me, Ralph?!"
Clang!
An axe cleaved down.
"Why are you dodging!? Afraid to take your grandpa's axe head-on?"
"What kind of hero only hides inside this turtle shell? Strike back, why don't you strike back?!"
"A Saint-level powerhouse, yet you don't even dare to face a mere ninth-tier in a direct clash?!"
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Accompanied by the howling winds of the great axe swings, everyone watched as this dwarf suddenly shifted his combat style, ranting furiously like a fountain sprite reincarnate.
...
"Clang!"
A massive ball of energy crashed down, only for the dwarf Ralph to raise his shield just in the nick of time to block it, before peeking out half a dwarven head from behind the giant shield: "Hey! Try another one!"
Rumble!
Another massive lightning ball blasted forward.
"DPS, DPS! Full DPS!" the Elven Grand Elder, Hilu, shouted at the top of his lungs.
Everyone at the Summit of Nations...
Looked at one another, their faces completely blank with bewilderment: "!!??"
You could even do it like this!?
A few elves wiped the sweat from their brows, staring at the terrifyingly grim face of Neth, Lord of Energy: "The ancient god Cthun doesn't take taunts, but this one seems to...!?"
"Oh, hurry up and DPS, hurry up and DPS!"
Even a few melee elves immediately charged forward. Sword-light and magical radiance intertwined, raining down upon Neth like a tempestuous storm. Even an existence as powerful as Neth could not physically withstand these eighth- and ninth-tier attacks, especially when every single one of these blows carried staggering weight.
On the battlefield, under Boss Fang's command, the war of the allied forces of all races continued.
And this Saint-slaying battle of the elite squads likewise seemed to gradually be gaining the upper hand.
The defense of the few warriors was like an iron wall,
But right at that moment, an unexpected turn of events occurred!
The entire sky suddenly ripped open into a horrific fissure! Pitch-black lightning poured down like a torrential rain, instantly swallowing the front-line warriors and paladins, followed immediately by countless black, python-like lightning bolts crashing into the back-line mages and healers.
This scene unfolded with almost zero warning, and the screams and cries were drowned out within this pitch-black thunder.
Aside from a few mages who blinked away, a few lucky ranged attackers, and paladins who activated their invulnerability, almost everyone else was charred black, falling from the sky!
In nearly an instant, the warriors and mages of all races, whose faces had just been glowing with the joy of impending victory, were left with nothing but the terror of surviving a disaster!
Looking at their expressions, Neth appeared highly satisfied.
He began to sneer, a sliver of mocking rage appearing on his cold, stern face: "With just this kind of trick, did you really think you could affect me?!"
"Do not underestimate us too much!"
At this very moment, the elite squad that originally numbered dozens of people was now left with barely a dozen!
Everyone's mind was a complete blank.
War was no game!
"Such a clumsy trick was used by others over a thousand years ago when we conquered another plane. My doing this was merely to see what else you were capable of." As he spoke, silently, as if teleporting, he appeared behind a figure, his sharp palm piercing toward the opponent's chest like a sharp sword!
"Sera!"
Puff!
Blood splattered.
"Wh...!?" Sera's dull gaze turned behind her.
Only to see a figure standing in the way.
Lancer noticed the others looking at him in astonishment, and only then did Lancer look down at his own chest.
Fresh blood flowed down from his chest.
"Captain—!" Sera, Lorrain, and several other members with the lowest cultivation in the squad screamed in horror.
Dying in the game meant you could still be resurrected to try the fight again, but what about reality?
The terrifying demon before them would absolutely never give them a chance to save anyone!
This steady elven captain managed to squeeze out a smile, comforting them: "Progressing through a new raid... how could people not die?"
"Even if we wipe, all of us have obtained the rarest intelligence. We still have the Second Raid, the Third Raid. Even if they all wipe, we still have the Beastman Kingdom Guild's First Raid, and the Mercenary and Mage Guilds' First Raid! Victory shall be ours!"
"Seeking death!" With a twisted expression, Neth brutally snapped his neck, tossing the corpse of Lancer, captain of the Snow Dove squad, down from the sky like a discarded sack.
"For victory and glory!" Captain Evan led a few paladins, seizing the duration of their invulnerability, to charge frantically at Neth.
"Silver Moon Forest Second Raid!" Elven Grand Elder Hilu held his staff high, and instantly a large group of elves rushed forward once more.
Ten minutes later, a large number of elves fell from the sky once again.
"The Black Rock Citadel Second Regiment!" came a roaring cry as yet another company lunged into the fray.
They threw themselves headlong against death, surge after desperate surge, driven in this singular moment by nothing but the distant echo of a triumph yet unwritten.
"For victory and honor! Charge!"
