Author's Thoughts on Completing the Book (New Book and Side Stories Will Meet Everyone Soon)

Having finished the manuscript, I noticed a few readers asking if there would be a final afterword. Truth be told, it had completely slipped my mind… yet upon reflection, there are indeed matters that can only be properly addressed within the confines of a postscript.

As this marks my very first completed novel, a wave of profound emotion washes over me—the previous attempt having been awkwardly struck down by censorship just as it neared its conclusion—and so, in keeping with time-honored tradition, I shall pen these final reflections.

Allow me to take this opportunity to answer a few of the questions you have raised.

The first, and undoubtedly the one you care about most, concerns the ultimate heroine; this was indeed subtly hinted at in the final paragraph. At the same time, I wished to leave this particular canvas somewhat blank. After all, I never set out to depict a sweeping, tempestuous romance, nor did this book possess the room to accommodate one. Thus, you may simply take it to mean whichever female character your heart desires.

The second question is why the tale concludes at the Investiture of the Gods, rather than venturing into the primordial chaos, or the explosive, planet-shattering realms of Dragon Ball. Well… the reasons are manifold. I have seen some of them mentioned in the comments, and those assessments are indeed correct, but the primary reason remains that I felt the Investiture served as the most fitting grand finale in every aspect—and fitting does not merely pertain to the sheer scale of power.

On the other hand, there was the looming specter of aesthetic fatigue. The structural framework had already been cast in stone, rendering it impossible to weave in anything genuinely novel; by the latter stages, the architecture of this book was rigid and unyielding. Therefore, this conclusion exists because I wished to leave the story at a point where you could still feel its thrills and burning passion, delivering a relatively decent ending rather than dragging it out until it grew dry and sterile, forcing a clumsy termination.

The third question regarding the new book is already explicitly answered in the title.

The fourth matter of epilogues and side stories—yes, they will be updated, though not in great abundance. They will fill the lingering voids left by Dark Souls, God of War, and JX3, while also offering a few lighthearted glimpses into daily life.

Some of you might wonder why these were not woven into the main text; it is because the main narrative was already marching along its central axis, approaching its twilight, and lengthening those segments would have severely disrupted the pacing.

Furthermore, some readers simply do not play these games and find them incomprehensible. These worlds possess their own barriers to entry, and not everyone desires to understand them. Early on, the sheer novelty sustained the momentum, but by the later stages, that novelty had waned. To forcibly thrust them into the main text would, at least to a portion of the readership, feel rather like padding.

At last, let us speak of these final reflections in earnest. When I first began this book, my desire was purely to write something I personally loved. As I picked up the pen, I asked myself what had left the deepest impression upon my soul… video games, certain fragments of my past, and those earth-shattering, world-destroying classic techniques that I, in my childhood and youth, had desperately hoped to possess one day. Thus, this book was born.

I count myself fortunate to have finally reached the end. Though many parts were justly criticized, and there are places where I myself am far from satisfied, it nonetheless demanded a great deal of my life's blood.

I am grateful to have brought this tale to its full and proper completion. My thanks go to my editor for their unwavering support, which allowed this book to be seen by so many eyes, and my deepest gratitude goes to every friend who journeyed with me to this finale. Thank you for your support.

Until we meet again in the next book, and in the side stories.
