Chapter 165: Intercalating the Five Elements

Chapter 165: Intercalating the Five Elements

"You little brat, aren't you pushing your luck a bit too far? Do you truly believe that having slaughtered a single town grants you the arrogance to look down upon all?"

Elder Shenbenyou gazed upon Li Huowang before him, a distinct trace of displeasure surfacing upon his face.

His body trembled slightly, and the rusted iron nails burrowed within his flesh swiftly erupted outward, hurtling toward Li Huowang.

Little did he know, the very instant the nails were halfway to their mark, Li Huowang, amidst the act of slitting his own throat, evaded them with astonishing agility.

At that moment, a bizarre smile crept across Li Huowang's exceedingly haggard face; planting both feet upon the Record of the Myriad Realms, he surged toward the five elders amidst a gale of fierce wind.

"Protect the elders!" Flames swiftly engulfed the bodies of the Nestorian believers, Shousan and Touqi.

As they raised their hands in unison, the flames upon their bodies seemed to spread like a contagion, leaping onto Li Huowang and igniting his crimson Daoist robe.

It appeared that "Li Huowang" was in dire straits, yet in the very next second, as "Li Huowang" tilted his head ever so slightly, the tide of battle instantly turned.

Not only did the fire upon "Li Huowang" extinguish, but their charred bodies amidst the blazing inferno inexplicably began to swell.

The scorched flesh cracked like burnt rice crusts, and the fresh, deformed meat, along with the blood spurting from the fissures, swiftly smothered the majority of the flames upon their bodies.

"Li Huowang," sword in hand, swung his blade and cleaved the two increasingly deformed flesh monsters straight in half; these Nestorian cultists were no match for him, and dispatching them was as effortless as hacking through melons and slicing vegetables.

"No! This is not that little brat; he has been possessed! He is now his half-immortal master, Danyangzi!"

Once the five elders of the Zuowangdao realized this, they swiftly crossed their legs into a lotus position and began to chant.

"Music is the ultimate refinement of elegance, the genesis of the Dao, the culmination of joyous practice, the bearing of clamorous affairs, the zenith of delight. With a mind devoid of music, yet nothing is unmusical..."

As this voice rang out, Li Huowang laughed; he laughed not only with his mouth but also with his eyes, his fingers, and every single organ within his body.

Amidst the laughter, the facial features upon his body began to loosen and shift.

Yet in the very next second, Danyangzi's countermeasure arrived instantaneously.

Ethereal black clouds materialized out of thin air, shrouding Danyangzi and gradually muffling the laughter emanating from his form.

Li Huowang gazed into the distance at Danyangzi, who was locked in a fierce and desperate battle with the Zuowangdao.

Although excruciating agony wracked his neck, his face broke into an even wider smile.

All he desired was to use himself as the catalyst to provoke a mutual slaughter between Danyangzi and the Zuowangdao; no matter which side perished, his objective would be fulfilled.

"No, this is not enough, it still lacks something!" With these words, Li Huowang raised a dagger, pressed it against his chest, and pierced his skin by half an inch.

Gripping the hilt tightly, Li Huowang gritted his teeth and tremulously dragged the blade downward.

Witnessing this, the monk Illusion, who had been following Li Huowang all along, gasped in sheer shock, standing aside and gesticulating wildly.

"Daoist, do not do this! We can think of a proper solution together!"

Li Huowang, however, thought otherwise; he had no desire for Danyangzi to continue wreaking havoc by hijacking his body even in death.

Accompanied by a low roar, Li Huowang fiercely yanked the blade downward. Crimson blood gushed from his chest and abdominal cavity, splattering onto the Record of the Myriad Realms beneath his feet, rendering the color of the bamboo slips even more vibrant.

The amplified pain, coupled with the severe wound akin to disembowelment, nearly caused Li Huowang to faint from the sheer agony.

But he dared not faint; if he lost consciousness now, what if he awoke to find his wounds healed and Danyangzi having usurped his body? Then everything he had done would be utterly in vain.

Danyangzi had already emerged; he would not have a second chance.

With a clatter, the blood-soaked dagger fell to the ground, and the swaying Li Huowang raised his hand and plunged it into his own wound.

"Ahhh!!" Hoarsely screaming, he dropped to one knee, the veins bulging on the back of his hand hooking the edge of the wound as he exerted force and violently tore it open, exposing everything within his body to the frigid air.

"Wood Liver!"

Crimson rootlets rustled as they burrowed out from the Record of the Myriad Realms, restoring vitality to the liver that had lost its blood supply.

More rootlets extended from within, drilling into Li Huowang's knees and burrowing ever deeper.

"Metal Lungs!"

The rootlets upon the Record of the Myriad Realms began to grow thicker and thicker.

"Earth Spleen!!"

Thunder rumbled from the direction outside the cave, a certain aura spreading within, and everything around Li Huowang began to distort.

Everyone present transformed into terrifying flesh monsters in Li Huowang's eyes, and the Record of the Myriad Realms on the ground turned into wriggling worms lined up and connected in series.

"Water Kidneys!!" At this moment, the surrounding Nestorian cultists attempted to rush forward and stop him, but as soon as they drew near, all the Records of the Myriad Realms upon their bodies flew over and spread out around Li Huowang.

Li Huowang, now completely hollowed out, laughed all the more joyously.

It hurt, it hurt so much, yet he was genuinely overjoyed, for he was on the verge of death. Once he died, he would never feel pain again, and Danyangzi would no longer be able to control his body.

He took a deep breath, and that voice filled with grief and indignation sprayed from his mouth along with the blood.

"And the last... Fire Heart!!"

At this moment, the Record of the Myriad Realms, now possessing the five organs, gained vitality; it was alive once more.

When Li Huowang had thoroughly sacrificed the most crucial organs to Bahui.

His body was reduced to little more than an empty shell, and with his pupils gradually dilating, he collapsed toward the ground.

Yet this was not entirely the end; this was not the Ascension of the Cangqiang to summon Bahui, but rather another ritual recorded in the Record of the Myriad Realms: Intercalating the Five Elements.

At this very moment, having completed his task, Li Huowang watched as the wriggling flesh that formed the Record of the Myriad Realms on the ground swiftly gathered together and burrowed into his empty body.

Before long, Li Huowang's body, which had previously resembled a tattered sack, was filled once more, and the contents even began to overflow.

Those wriggling worms burrowed recklessly within him, leaving no space they could inhabit untouched.

Li Huowang staggered to his feet, sword in hand, and looked down at the wriggling worms inside his wide-open cavity.

At this moment, he could feel the sensation of these sea-worm-like creatures writhing within his body.

The sensation was truly marvelous; he felt that those worms had become a part of him, and he could even sense the peculiar power contained within them.

He was somewhat unable to tell anymore whether those things were worms or a part of himself.

More importantly, Li Huowang no longer felt any pain at this moment, not a single trace of it.
