Chapter 559: Thunder Method
Chapter 559: Thunder Law
"Ten thousand thunderous weapons, lightning and thunder, illuminating heaven and earth!"
With a deafening crash of thunder, five purple bolts descended from the sky, striking with brutal force upon the roof of a palace.
The golden and jade palace, resplendent in its glory, was instantly shrouded in the purple lightning. Moments later, it crumbled to ash.
At that time, when they had engaged in full-scale battle with the Sect of Forgetfulness, he had been away. This was the first time Li Huowang truly understood the true strength of the Imperial Master of Great Liang.
The pile of charcoal formed by the collapsed palace began to collapse under the weight of the tiles. From the falling blackened fragments, a figure emerged—fleeing, a dying eunuch whose charred face was filled with despair.
But just as he reached the cracked stone courtyard, the Imperial Master of Great Liang, sword in hand, descended from the heavens, blocking his path.
The eunuch stammered, trying to speak, but twisted his body in an unnatural way, dodging a rift that came flying from behind.
When he saw the grim expression and the bone blade held by Li Huowang, a smile suddenly appeared on his face. "So it's you, I wondered why... Well done this time. When we meet again, I'll treat you to dinner."
Li Huowang raised his sword and swung it forcefully, then shouted to Huangfu Tiangang, "Imperial Master! Don’t believe a word of this Sect of Forgetfulness’s lies! He is trying to sow discord between us!"
But at that moment, Huangfu Tiangang showed no emotion, his gaze fixed on the dice. "Do you really think this imperial palace is some place you can come and go as you please? Today is your death day!"
The eunuch peeled back his skin, revealing a dice that constantly changed numbers before them. "So be it. Everyone dies eventually—early or late, it’s all the same. But... heeheehee... my task is complete."
He turned to look at Li Huowang. "Red Dragon, Red Dragon, do you really think you found me? It was all arranged for you to find me. Every step you took was within my plan."
"Stop with that nonsense! I kill only the Sect of Forgetfulness! I’ve seen these tricks before! Who’s the Red Dragon? You won’t fool me!" With those words, Li Huowang charged forward, sword in hand.
The dice did not dodge—it lunged toward Li Huowang, opening its chest to meet the blade. A sharp “plop” sounded as bloodied steel emerged from its back.
Because they were so close, Li Huowang could smell the scent of burnt flesh.
"Die!" Li Huowang thrust the hilt, pushing the dice backward. His white teeth opened wide, biting deeply into the dice’s face, tearing off a chunk of flesh and skin.
Then he gripped the hilt tightly and pulled upward, splitting the dice’s upper half cleanly in two.
Breathing heavily, Li Huowang stared at the corpse on the ground, his hands trembling slightly.
Before he could even process what had happened, a chilling voice whispered beside him. "Child..."
"Dan Yangzi has returned?" In a moment of distraction, the Dan Yangzi, with his three flowers pouring down, flickered before Li Huowang’s eyes.
"No! That’s fake! The dice isn’t dead yet! It’s possessed me!" As he thought this, Li Huowang drew his Purple Bristle Sword and plunged it into his own body, searching frantically.
"Heheh, Red Dragon. You’re quite mischievous. You’re really playful." His mouth moved on its own, speaking.
"You want my body, right? Fine! I’ll give it to you!" A hook was pulled from his torture kit, clamped onto his own shoulder blade, and yanked hard.
"Hisss, Red Dragon, be gentle. You’re hurting me!"
Compared to Li Huowang’s method of using pain to force the dice out, the Imperial Master of Great Liang’s approach was far more direct and crude.
"Cloud Flying, Quick Movement! Xuan Lei Dragon, Bring Rain! Immortal Fire, Rush Now! Heaven’s Thunder, Urgent Rescue!"
Thunder roared above Li Huowang’s head. He didn’t hold back—he intended to strike down both him and the dice in one blow.
Seeing that Huangfu Tiangang meant business, the dice dared not gamble. The half-cut corpse lying on the ground suddenly stood up and ran toward the eastern gate. The voice beside Li Huowang vanished completely.
As the eunuch’s legs moved rapidly, the severed head of the dice bounced left and right like fruit on a tree.
Two halves of mouths, each uttering a single word, began to speak. "Oh no, old man, you’re serious? Don’t forget, you got your position partly because of me."
Feeling Li Huowang’s gaze, Huangfu Tiangang casually said, "Just like what he told you, it’s all a lie. Don’t fall for the Sect of Forgetfulness."
With that, he raised his Star Constellation Sword and began casting spells. Wind howled, thunder rolled.
"Bang~!" A purple bolt struck down instantly. This time, it hit—the dice’s entire body was split in two, both top and bottom.
Yet even so, the strange dice still moved. Its two halves leapt apart in opposite directions.
But the Imperial Master ignored the left half and directed the heavenly thunder at the right.
Seeing this, Li Huowang quickened his pace after the other half. He couldn’t let the dice escape now.
"Red Dragon, you’re here? A few days ago, I went to Fengyang Tower. Their signature dish, First-Class Crispy Cake, was absolutely divine. Mmm, next time, you must bring Bai Lingmiao to taste it."
"Die!" Li Huowang swung his rib-bone sword, sending a rift slicing toward the dice.
The half-dice twisted easily to avoid it. "You’re wrong, you know? If you open that gap wider, I could have escaped to Great Qi. Then all your efforts would be for nothing."
As he spoke, he cried out in pain, collapsing to the ground, feeling intense agony in his chest.
"Oh, why are you using that crazy trick again? I’m in pain too, you know? You’re such a pain to deal with."
The dice staggered to his feet, eyeless, staring at Li Huowang, who was now stabbing him in the chest with ribs.
"What? You really think you can kill me? Even if I’m half, you still can’t."
"How do you know unless you try? And I don’t need to kill you—I just need to stop you!" From beside Li Huowang, Peng Longteng’s headless body slowly materialized.
Just as things were about to erupt, a dark gold arrow suddenly pierced the dice’s head, hurling it away.
As the dice crashed to the ground, the wind chasing after it finally caught up, nearly knocking Li Huowang off his feet.
Then five arrows shot from all directions, pinning the dice to the ground. "Dare to cause trouble inside the palace during broad daylight? Do you think there’s no one in Great Liang? Huh?"
