Chapter 603: Heart Element and Heart Coil

Chapter 603: Heart Essence, Heart Coiling

Beneath the pitch-black ship, as ample oxygen filled Li Huowang’s lungs, he had now no more weaknesses.

The fate of the Eight Immortals in the sea was, of course, obvious.

Soon, pieces of wood—black or yellow—covered all the seawater around Li Huowang. Even if they could move, under such circumstances, movement was impossible.

Having dealt with the Eight Immortals, the black tentacles that had grown from Li Huowang’s limbs flailed rapidly, propelling him toward the surface of the sea.

Once back on deck, panting, Li Huowang decided to take a direct approach.

Since the enemy already knew he was coming, there was no point in attempting a surprise attack. Moreover, even if it came down to a straight confrontation, he was dealing with Si Ming’s Heart Coiling; he wasn’t necessarily inferior to him!

“Swish!” A rift flew through the air and struck the bronze cauldron standing upright with three incense sticks burning inside. The great vessel used for worship cracked apart, its ash scattering across the floor.

“Come out! If you don’t come out, I’ll burn your entire ship!” Li Huowang glanced at his skin, which was now half-burned, and once again pulled out a fire striker, slicing it across his own flesh. Flames instantly erupted, completely enveloping him.

The surging flames began to spread from beneath Li Huowang's feet, gradually spreading outward.

The ship’s cabin doors burst open, and suddenly large groups of people rushed out. These individuals had dark skin and wore attire unlike anything Li Huowang had ever seen. Some were unfamiliar.

Yet regardless, seeing Li Huowang about to set fire to the ship, their eyes blazed with fury. Without hesitation, they charged at him wielding various weapons.

Among them were formidable fighters, yet their efforts were ultimately futile. As the flames spread faster and faster, their only destiny became fuel to intensify the blaze.

The fire grew larger and larger. It seemed the whole ship would soon become a blazing vessel when suddenly both the flames on Li Huowang’s body and those on the deck vanished swiftly.

It was as if time reversed itself—the charred wooden planks quickly returned to their original color. More strangely still, the bronze cauldron at the bow, which had been cut away by Li Huowang, had also restored itself to its original form.

A creaking sound echoed, and the cabin door slowly opened. A man, neck chained with a collar and clothes in tatters, crawled out from the floor. His rusted chain clinked against the ground, producing an ear-piercing scraping noise.

But he wasn’t alone. Soon, another person emerged from within, followed by a total of five men.

Their appearances were indistinguishable from ordinary humans, but their eyes were identical double pupils.

Li Huowang, his expression grave, clenched his fists. He knew after all this commotion, the main character was finally about to appear.

“Stand up.” From within the dark cabin, an aged voice rang out. The five men, eyes vacant, slowly rose from the ground, repeating the words in unison.

“Stand up.”

“Stand up.”

“Stand up.”

“Stand up.”

“Stand up.”

Faced with these strange five men, Li Huowang did not panic. He stared into the dark cabin and asked, “Are you the Heart Coiling hidden by Doumu?”

At that moment, Li Huowang heard hoofbeats from his left. He turned his head and saw dust rising from the distant dock.

Someone had arrived at the dock, but whoever it was, they were of no help anymore, because the ship had long since sailed into the ocean and moved some distance.

With a solemn expression, Li Huowang turned back to stare at the darkness inside the distant cabin. “Come out. Since I’ve come all this way, what’s the point of hiding?”

“Bang!” The headless Peng Long Teng crashed beside Li Huowang, then strode forward, charging recklessly at the five men.

“Let this one lose his feet.” The aged voice rang out once more.

As the five men repeated the command, Peng Long Teng, who was sprinting, suddenly had both legs shattered, crashing heavily onto the wooden planks.

When Li Huowang looked at the five men again, a chill ran down his spine. Their ability to make words manifest into reality reminded him of something ominous. “Heart Essence? Are all five of them Heart Essence?!”

Upon learning their true identities, Li Huowang finally understood why the wooden wall he had cut open had healed itself. Only the cultivation power of Heart Essence could restore a severed bronze cauldron to its original state.

Facing Li Huowang’s question, the one hiding in the cabin did not answer. As the Heart Essences spoke in unison again, the entire deck split open. Without any support point, Li Huowang fell directly into the lower cabin.

Once he steadied himself and raised his head to look ahead, he saw the five Heart Essences suspended from the wall like five hanging corpses, dragged by iron chains around their necks.

As a Heart Essence himself, Li Huowang empathized deeply. He felt deeply disgusted by how they treated Heart Essences as mere tools.

Five living beings, reduced to puppets at his disposal.

But conversely, Li Huowang understood Heart Essences well. He had his own methods for dealing with them.

Seeing them open their mouths to speak, Li Huowang didn’t hesitate—he stabbed a dagger through both eardrums.

Then, without delay, he closed his eyes and charged toward the five Heart Essences on the wall.

Though to Li Sui’s eyes, the wooden planks beneath him cracked and liquefied, his father remained unaffected, stepping effortlessly over everything as he advanced.

Even walls covered in sharp spikes or boiling molten iron were easily shattered by Li Huowang’s unstoppable charge.

“Die!” Two rifts leading to Great Qi shot toward the five Heart Essences.

When Li Huowang opened his eyes again, he found the Heart Essences lifted by chains, having narrowly escaped destruction.

Yet Li Huowang showed no trace of disappointment. He had already planned how to compensate for failure.

Just as he thought the one hiding in the cabin might give further orders to the Heart Essences, he immediately pulled out a bell covered in verdigris from his pocket and shook it violently.

Li Huowang didn’t intend to summon Lord You. He simply wanted to use the piercing ring of the bell to interrupt the commands given to the Heart Essences.

Heart Essences were indeed difficult to deal with, but blocking the commands issued to them was not so hard.

Seeing the five Heart Essences stop moving, the Li Huowang floating mid-air threw his left hand toward the cabin door. Two slender tentacles whipped out and wrapped around the door frame.

In the next instant, the tentacles yanked sharply, sending Li Huowang flying like a stone from a slingshot into the dark cabin.
