He even walked up to the long table with practiced familiarity, intending to sit beside Su Ruobing.

Seeing him approach, she immediately stood up and retreated a few steps, offering a skin-deep smile as she said, "Heh, who is your fiancée?!"

Seeing her face dark as water, Gu Ruilong hastily raised his hands in a gesture of surrender, yet his lips wore a smiling expression as he said, "Hasn't the wager between us concluded yet? You needn't be in such a hurry to deny it."

At the mention of the word 'wager,' Su Ruobing's face flushed with a mixture of pale and dark hues. After taking several deep breaths, she ground her teeth and said, "So you resort to these methods to compete with me?"

Gu Ruilong smiled with an air of absolute entitlement, saying, "This is merely legitimate commercial competition. You wish to recruit this outstanding student under your banner, and so do I, so let us each rely on our own capabilities!"

Su Ruobing's teeth ached with suppressed rage, and she took several more deep breaths before managing to calm her emotions.

With a cold snort, she directed her gaze straight at Li Chang'an, saying earnestly, "I cannot match the conditions this fellow is offering. If you wish to leave with him, I cannot stop you either. You must choose for yourself!"

Su Ruobing's words were entirely candid, yet anyone could see that her fury toward Gu Ruilong's unreasonable and despicable tactics had accumulated to the very brink of eruption.

But even so, she did not paint false pictures for Li Chang'an, nor did she deign to disparage Gu Ruilong's villainous behavior in front of him.

Principal Wang wore an expression of hesitance, subtly tugging at Li Chang'an's sleeve several times from the side, as if he had something to say.

However, Li Chang'an paid him no heed.

Li Chang'an shook his head, "None!"
