Chapter 1217: Conversation with Colier
Chapter 1217: Conversation with Colier
Zhou Zhou stood behind Nataya, who had just been resurrected, gazing upon the once-mighty capital of the Primordial Elf Empire.
The imperial palace, once a symbol of unparalleled splendor and nobility, now lay in ruins, its treasures stripped bare. Even the throne upon which Elisar had once sat had been shattered into fragments, forcibly broken and taken by the fleeing people of the Primordial Elf Empire.
He looked eastward, toward the horizon.
There, where once stood the colossal, sky-reaching Mother Tree of the Elves, now only a vast, yawning chasm remained—stretching over hundreds of square kilometers, deep and unfathomable, like a bottomless abyss.
"It's been so short a time..."
"Everything has changed. People are gone, and the world is different."
"War can bring a nation wealth in leaps and bounds, yet in just a few days, it can reduce a whole empire to ash."
Zhou Zhou shook his head silently.
At the same time, he felt the Lord's Law flowing gently through his heart, like a quiet current beneath the surface of still water.
After a long silence, He finally turned to face Nataya.
At that moment, Nataya was kneeling alone before the grave of Elisaar, silent and still, without a word.
No one knew what was stirring within His heart.
"Elisaar... Elisaar..."
"You have, in your lifetime, a hero so devoted to you—already, you have surpassed many emperors."
Zhou Zhou gazed at Nataya's back, and a thought slipped into his mind without warning.
At that instant, Nataya moved slightly, then turned around, bowing deeply to Zhou Zhou:
"Thank you, Your Majesty, for bringing me here, so that I may see the Emperor's final face."
He said.
His voice was low, hollow, stripped of the liveliness and ease that Zhou Zhou remembered.
"By our friendship, what do you need to say such things for?"
Zhou Zhou smiled.
Then, seriously:
"Elisar, for the sake of the empire and its people, has made up her mind to die. I believe that even if I could reverse time and bring her back to life, the Elisar who rises again would still choose to take her own life once more. Therefore, I did not resurrect her."
"I understand, Lord."
Naytha nodded upon hearing this, then, gazing at the grave of Elisar before her, spoke softly: "You are right. If you resurrect her without her consent, she might indeed take her own life again."
"Your Majesty, Elisar is precisely such a ruler."
Zhou Zhou nodded.
Then, the two of them stayed there a little longer before departing together.
On the way back to the Capital of Jiaoyang, Naytha suddenly looked at Zhou Zhou and said:
"Your Grace."
"The Primordial Elf Empire has perished, and Empress Elisaar has passed from this world. Now I have no nation to return to. I do not know if Your Grace would be kind enough to take me in as an exile—of an unaffiliated elf. I... "
"Nathia."
Zhou Zhou cut him off, smiling gently:
"I need you. Come, help me."
Nathia froze, then nodded firmly.
He knew his meager strength offered little value to Zhou Zhou.
What he said was merely an attempt to ease his own conscience by joining the Jiaoyang Empire.
With his status, power, and standing, such a move was utterly unnecessary.
Yet he still chose to set aside his position and do it anyway.
It was clear how much He valued himself.
Even if their acquaintance had begun with nothing more than a chance encounter in the echoes of time.
Recalling all that the Duke had done for Him, Naiya felt a sudden dizziness.
Zhou Zhou had done so much for Him.
He was alone, with nothing to offer in return.
He could only serve him—just as he had served His Majesty, Elisar—by giving his very life!
Without regret, until the very end!
Alas, the other already had a family. Otherwise, I could have...
The thought had barely formed when Naiya’s panicked heart crushed it.
A moment later.
The capital under blazing sun.
After bringing back Nataya, Zhou Zhou had his people arrange a dwelling for her.
He then returned to the divine palace, paused in thought, opened his personal terminal’s friends list, and initiated a video call to one of his contacts.
Less than ten seconds later, the connection was answered.
A towering, regal purple janglur emperor, radiating an aura of unyielding dominance, appeared on screen, his expression profoundly respectful.
It was Emperor Coriel of the Beast Kingdom!
"Emperor Coriel, at your service," he bowed deeply.
"Coriel, have you found the master-servant territory pact of true divine rank?"
Zhou Zhou asked.
"There's already word of it—we've sent agents to purchase it. The true divine master-subordinate territory pact will arrive no later than tomorrow."
Koril spoke immediately.
"Tomorrow?"
Zhou Zhou stroked his chin, pondered for a moment, then nodded. "Very well. Once the master-subordinate territory pact arrives tomorrow, our two nations shall immediately seal the agreement and establish a master-subordinate territorial relationship. From that day forward, the Ogrin Godrealm shall become a vassal of the Imperial Realm of Jiaoyang."
"Of course."
Koril's heart was complex, yet on the surface he remained respectful.
"Prepare yourselves. As soon as the pact is sealed, I'll have you join the Imperial Army and go into battle."
Zhou Zhou suddenly said.
"So soon?"
Koril was startled.
Launching into battle so soon after sealing the pact—might this be a bit too hasty?
"Phase one of the Race Sovereigns' activities spans only three days. Do you intend to drag this out until when?"
Zhou Zhou glanced at Him, his voice calm. "Don't apply old-time concepts to the current Universal Sovereigns' rivalry. Beware—when you close your eyes to sleep, you might wake up to find your Cerberus Godrealm already erased, and centuries gone by."
A true god-tier being like Colir could easily enter a state of seclusion for thousands or even tens of thousands of years—this was entirely normal. That's why Zhou had specifically cautioned Him.
"I understand fully. I will never make such a mistake."
Colir quickly replied.
He knew, deep down, that Zhou was absolutely right.
After all, under the support of the Supreme Will, the Sovereigns' growth in this contest had accelerated dramatically—far beyond what native Sovereigns could have imagined.
In past eras, the emergence of kingdoms or even empires within such a short span of time had not been unheard of.
Yet such occurrences—never before so numerous—now stood in stark contrast to the present!
Among these, naturally, the highest will's established activities and rewards were propelling everything forward.
Seeing this, Zhou Zhou said nothing more, but instead smiled faintly:
"You had better be ready. Though currently there are numerous lords and even entire race factions aligning themselves with Me, there has never been a single state-level lord faction coming to me before."
"You are the first to do such a thing."
"The pressure you face is immense."
"Moreover, the enemies I will face tomorrow are no ordinary ones. You must prepare thoroughly. Otherwise, should any major casualties occur, I will certainly allow all of you to be resurrected equally—but on the record of merits and demerits, you will be marked down for it."
Colir's heart chilled, nodding firmly: "I will prepare with all my might."
Zhou Zhou nodded in reply.
Then, without further delay, He ended the video call.
And as he gazed into the distance, a faint, quiet smile played upon his face.
"Now the external tribes will soon know that my Solar Empire is blessed by three supreme master deities."
"Plus, once the news spreads tomorrow—that the Beastfolk Divine Nation has chosen to align itself with me—"
"Combined, these two facts will stir a colossal wave across the myriad races, ensuring every lordly faction and ethnic power understands that this age has been irrevocably transformed by my presence as the Sovereign Lord of all races."
