Chapter 1259: The Void Anomaly Clan! Unknown and Powerful Enemies!

Chapter 1259: The Clan of the Strange Void! An Unknown and Powerful Enemy!

Zhou Zheng stared blankly at the empty expanse before him.

What... is going on?

Has the Lord of the Yellow Springs perished?!

Has even the Supreme Divine Master-level artifact, the Nine-Deep Yellow Springs Spear, been utterly destroyed too?!

His expression grew increasingly grave.

Without pausing to grieve the loss of a Supreme Divine Master artifact, he immediately drew forth the Bodhi Master and asked:

"Bodhi Master, what has happened in the Yellow Springs?"

"One official opportunity for clarification."

The Bodhi Master spoke calmly.

There was no longer the usual laziness in his voice.

"Use it!"

Zhou Zheng rose without hesitation this time.

He sensed something was terribly wrong.

This matter had to be clarified.

"The Yellow Abyss has fallen."

"Taken by a group of outsiders."

Bodhi, the Supreme, said.

"Outsiders?"

Zhou Zheng furrowed his brow. "Did the Crimson Will seize the Yellow Abyss?"

"The Crimson Will, to the Supreme Will, is not exactly an outsider."

"It's more like family members vying for inheritance."

"But those others? They are true outsiders."

"Could it be the [Xie Xu] race?"

Zhou Zheng paused, asking.

The Xie Xu race, though similar in nature to void beings, were instead the superior species among them.

Void beings dwelled deep within the fabric of space, feeding on void energy and devouring world crystalline barriers, invading countless realms with the intent to destroy worlds and thereby nourish the void energy, thus enabling their own growth.

Yet the difference between the Xie Xu and the void beings lay precisely here.

The void beings originated from two great universes and only caused chaos within the Supreme and Crimson Great Universes.

Yet, to the Supreme Will and the Master of Crimson, such chaos was merely a part of the cosmic cycle. To beings of such magnitude, void creatures were not enemies but offspring—considered kin. Consequently, even during the great struggles among the myriad races, members of the void race were permitted to participate.

Only beings born within the world would consider such a devouring creature, capable of destroying the world, to be their enemy.

But the Yixu race is different.

They originated in the void beyond the Supreme Cosmos and the Crimson Cosmos, claiming to be the ultimate beings of the void. Feeding on the cosmic crystal barriers that enclose the two great cosmoses, they dream of shattering those barriers and invading, annihilating both cosmoses.

Thus, even the Supreme Will and the Crimson Sovereign regard them as enemies.

Even beyond the great cosmoses, they have established a dedicated battlefield in the Ultimate Void.

Every thousand years, a legion of powerful warriors from the two great cosmoses journeys to this Ultimate Void battlefield to confront the invading Yixu race.

This tale is nearly unknown among the base life forms across the myriad realms.

Yet within the circles of the gods, it is known by nearly every deity.

Zhou Zheng naturally knows of it.

Yet, Bodhi, upon hearing Zhou Zheng's answer, lamented:

"If only those little ones were different."

"But alas, they are not."

"What kind of enemy is that?"

Zhou Zheng was stunned.

"That is an enemy fundamentally opposed to our very existence—we are nearly born enemies."

"You don't need to know too much now, and I can't tell you too much."

"Once your strength grows, everything will become clear to you."

Bodhi, having said this, remained silent. No matter how Zhou Zheng called upon it, Bodhi did not speak.

Hearing this, Zhou Zheng furrowed his brow.

But after a while, the lines on his brow softened.

Well, fine.

Since Bodhi Master has said so, then He will know about it later.

He who listens to advice, will have a full stomach.

The long-lived have one secret to their longevity: they do not interfere with matters that concern no one.

Since this matter does not currently affect him, he might as well refrain from worrying about it.

Otherwise, he might end up making things worse and end up in a state of embarrassment.

Then, he thought of another matter.

"The Yellow Springs have already collapsed—does that mean my Yellow Springs shipyard was all for nothing?"

Zhou Zheng asked.

"Only a common question, resolved."

Bodhi Master yawned lazily.

"Used it."

Zhou Zheng sighed helplessly.

"Hehe, that might not be quite right."

Bodhi Master spoke calmly, "What I mean by 'the Yellow Springs has fallen' is that the Yellow Springs has been seized and the path from the mortal world to the Underworld has been sealed— not that the Yellow Springs itself has vanished."

"The Yellow Springs is a place, a conceptual existence.

It exists throughout the myriad realms, permeating every corner of the cosmos. As long as sentient beings in the world remember the Yellow Springs, it will never truly disappear. Thus, even that enemy cannot completely eradicate it."

"However, control of the Yellow Springs has indeed passed into their hands. Even if they cannot fully occupy it at present, no other forces outside the existing Yellow Springs factions can now interfere with what's happening there."

"Full collapse is merely a matter of time."

"But if you wish to gain some benefit from within the Yellow Springs before it is fully lost— that is not impossible."

"Because you are an exception!"

"Your Yellow River dock was just constructed upon the Yellow River's surface."

"Plus, you possess the Yellow River Permit."

"Among the myriad realms and heavens, only you currently have the ability to re-enter the Yellow River and carry out actions before it fully collapses."

"Although the path from the Yellow River to the Underworld has been sealed, manufacturing Yellow River boats and recruiting Yellow River ferry spirits to guide the souls of other beings to the Underworld has become meaningless."

"But you can still recruit some Yellow River fishermen to catch Yellow River fish near your dock—this remains feasible."

Zhou Zheng nodded.

With that, it would be all right.

In truth, He himself had little interest in recruiting ferry spirits.

He cared only about the harvest of Yellow River fish.

Now that the Underworld Fish posed no immediate threat, He spared no thought for anything else.

After all, He lacked the power to interfere even if He wished to.

Having come to this realization, He sighed with deep emotion:

"With the Underworld fallen and the path of the dead to the Netherworld severed, I fear the spirits of the myriad realms will no longer find their way through these yellow springs."

"Bodhi Sovereign, what do you imagine this world will become in the days to follow?"

"It is quite simple, really."

The Bodhi Sovereign replied languidly, "First, the dead will multiply across the myriad realms. Then, the laws of life and death will fall into disarray, and an ever-greater tide of living-dead creatures will emerge throughout the universe. In the end, perhaps our very cosmos will be ruled by the race of the living dead."

"Of course."

"It is also entirely possible that the breakdown of the laws of mortality will destabilize the cosmic balance of Yin and Yang, throwing the very foundations of the realms into utter chaos."

"When that time comes, the Supreme Will will have no choice but to reforge this grand world of ours, reducing everything back to primal chaos to begin anew."

Zhou Zheng fell silent.

Whichever possibility it was, it was not the future He wished to behold.

But then...

What else could He possibly do?

Even the entirety of the Yellow Springs had fallen, and one had to remember that within its depths existed a supreme entity like the Will of the Yellow Springs.

If an existence of that caliber could not dissolve the crisis gripping the Underworld, what could a mere nobody like Himself, who had not even ascended to a Supreme God, hope to accomplish?

He shook His head.

Forget it.

When the heavens collapse, let the tall ones bear the weight.

He had best honestly and dutifully complete the campaign issued by the Supreme Will.

Then He ceased further thought, opened the Legion interface, and contacted Yan Luo, the chieftain of the Yin Gui clan currently serving in the Universal Clan Legion.
