Chapter 1316: Zhou Zhou's Doubts
"If it weren't for the Supreme God, I wouldn't have waited until both of my principles reached the level of Master God before beginning my ascension," the Pangu shook his head.
Zhou Zhou raised an eyebrow at this.
So this esteemed Pangu Lord had already attained the Master God level long ago.
It was only for the sake of achieving a higher realm of Supreme God that he had restrained himself, delaying his breakthrough until both of his fundamental principles had reached Master God status.
Such restraint—truly remarkable.
Zhou Zhou was filled with astonishment.
Then he said:
"Lord Pangu, would you be willing to join my empire?"
Such a being must inevitably be drawn to one's side.
"I am of human origin, and Your Majesty is the sovereign of the human race. Moreover, the Emperor has shown me a debt of life; how could I possibly refuse to join His service?"
Pangu agreed without hesitation.
Had it not been for the divine elixirs bestowed upon him by Zhou Zhou, he might still have remained in slumber for several millennia.
A span of thousands of years—perhaps by then the great races would have settled their conflicts, and who knows if the human race would still exist at all.
Thus, Pangu was profoundly grateful to Zhou Zhou for awakening him and for showing him the transformed, immensely stronger human race that now stood before him.
Upon hearing this, Zhou Zhou smiled and nodded.
"Then, Your Majesty, let us return together to the Empire."
"There are still treasures and structures within the Empire that would suit Your Majesty's continued cultivation. I am certain you will find them most appealing."
Zhou Zhou said.
"Seeking it, yet unable to obtain it!"
Upon hearing this, Pangu nodded solemnly, his expression calm and composed—no signs of overwhelming emotion.
After all, he had weathered countless trials and tribulations faced by the human race, guiding them from humble beginnings to ascendance. To him, a mountain collapsing before him without a flicker of concern was merely a basic reflex, a natural response honed through experience.
Zhouzhou nodded in agreement.
Then, together, they returned to the capital of Jiaoyang.
Once back in Jiaoyang, Zhouzhou immediately convened the highest echelons of the Jiaoyang Empire, summoning all the chief deities for a grand reception. There, he welcomed the former First Patriarch of the human race, officially announcing that Pangu had joined the Jiaoyang Empire as a Supreme Divine Servant.
Among those who witnessed Pangu’s return were Huangdi, Lüzhu, the Buddha, and Baihe.
These four leaders of the human race were instantly overcome with emotion, their eyes glistening with tears.
Especially Lüzhu!
A man of deep feeling and warmth, he immediately rushed forward upon seeing Pangu’s revival, embracing him tightly, his eyes brimming with tears.
"Big brother!"
Huang Di's expression was filled with emotion, his eyes glistening with tears, yet he managed to restrain himself. "You've finally truly awakened."
"Our human race has grown stronger than ever before. From now on, no race dares to oppress us. We have become one of the most powerful among the myriad tribes across the cosmos!"
"May the Buddha's mercy be upon you," said the Buddha, hands clasped together, a smile playing on his lips. "I have always said that my elder brother has forged the path for our human race, cleared the way, and protected our rise. The merit of a human being, accumulated through such sacrifice, is immense. No matter how many hardships we endure, there will surely come a day when the bitter end gives way to sweet fulfillment."
"Now you see, don't you? I was right, weren't I?"
"Right, right, I know you're absolutely correct."
Bai He teased, then bowed respectfully to Pangu. "Younger brother Bai He, at your service."
"Such a good younger brother," Pangu said, gently patting Bai He's shoulder, his divine spirit filled with deep emotion.
Among the five of them, Bai He was the last to attain true divinity.
And soon after becoming a true god, Pangu was attacked and fell into deep sleep, thus making Baihe's encounters with Pangu the rarest of all.
Yet though their meetings were few, Baihe—having grown up from childhood listening to Pangu's tales—held a profound, heartfelt reverence for him.
When Pangu fell into slumber, Baihe was among the first to worry.
Then came a series of calamities befalling the human race.
First, the Divine Body of Huangdi was shattered, leaving him to sleep in the Tomb of Xuanxuan, preserving his divine essence.
Then, the Buddha willingly entered the cycle of rebirth.
By then, the human race remained only with Lü Zu and Him as the two true gods.
But Lü Zu, in order to safeguard the lineage of humanity and seek vital resources for it, chose to vanish from the multiverse, hiding his identity.
And so, the human race was left with only Baihe—the sole true god standing tall!
Yet He was merely the youngest of the Five Great True Gods of the human race.
Yet he bore the heaviest burden upon the human race.
Pangu, though sleeping, was aware of all that transpired—unable to intervene, only watching as Bai He was forged through one peril after another, growing stronger, ultimately becoming the true pillar of the human race, shielding them through the ages until Zhou Zhou appeared.
And He—
has returned now.
Pangu's gaze swept over the human leaders, Huangdi among them, and said:
"Everyone, it is time once again for us to stand shoulder to shoulder."
"Good!"
"Ha ha ha, elder brother, we've waited a long time for this!"
"Let us fight with full force—for the human race behind us!"
…
The Yellow Emperor and the others laughed heartily.
“Eldest brother, I have already ascended to the rank of high true god,” Ancestor Lu said with a smile.
“As have I.”
“And I.”
“I too have advanced to a high true god, and I am on the verge of comprehending the realm where the will shines like light. Before long, I shall be capable of establishing a new law and becoming a main god, just like you, eldest brother,” the Yellow Emperor and the others chimed in one after another.
“This is all thanks to His Majesty.”
“Without the supreme main god inheritance bestowed upon us by His Majesty, we could never have reached this stage so quickly,” the Buddha concluded at last.
On hearing this, Pangu turned to Zhou Zhou.
Seeing this, Zhou Zhou raised his cup toward him and offered a faint, gentle smile.
Inside, he felt a deep contentment.
The Human Clan.
After all, it had finally come to an end to their suffering—now, a sweet fulfillment.
That night,
the high-ranking officials of every empire were filled with joy.
At the same time, Zhou Zhou issued a decree, spreading the news of Pangu's awakening across all realms and human clans throughout the cosmos, announcing to every human being across the multiverse this moment of universal celebration.
After the banquet ended, Zhou Zhou did not rest—he immediately returned to the Palace of Cycles, where he began to meditate and comprehend the Master's Law, using the scroll of teachings.
...
The next day.
Within the Rotating Holy Palace.
Zhou Zhou slowly opened his eyes.
He looked down at the empty palm of his hand, then, with a lingering affection, rubbed his fingertip gently against the surface.
"Indeed, the Granting Scroll is a magnificent thing."
"Not at all surprising that it was crafted specifically for me by the Supreme Will."
"Within just one night—after consuming three Granting Scrolls—my Master Law understanding has surged dramatically."
"Should I repeat this process just two or three more times, I should be able to ascend to Mid-Level True God status."
Zhou Zhou mused.
The difficulty of comprehending the Master Law—he had firsthand experience with that.
In days past, even with the aid of the Palace of Cyclic Renewal, it would have taken Him ten or fifteen days simply to achieve such progress.
Yet, thanks to the Scroll of Divine Instruction, He accomplished it in a single night.
Now, His anticipation for the daily mysterious item rewards grew even stronger.
"May today's mysterious item reward be the Scroll of Divine Instruction."
"I could give up everything else."
Zhou Zhou thought silently.
Then He opened his Lord's Talent Panel, hoping to discover what myth-level, unique Lord's talent had awakened within him today.
Soon,
He saw a brand-new myth-level, unique Lord's talent.
Yet upon viewing it, instead of feeling elation, His brows slightly furrowed in doubt.
He thought for a moment, and still pulled out the Bodhi Sovereign, asking:
"Bodhi Sovereign, why haven't I awakened a new Mythic-Unique tier, Ten God Series Lord's talent in the past few days?"
"Only other Mythic-Unique Lord talents have awakened?"
