Chapter 52: Power Armor

Chapter 52 Power Armor

Qin Feng stood amidst the crowd, similarly feeling that bleak aura of execution.

In his heart, however, a deeper, more profound wave had been unleashed.

The four Ruinous Powers...

The supreme entities of the cosmos...

He recalled the Eternal Emperor he visualized daily, clad in golden battle armor, reigning supreme over the universe.

The boundless majesty, deep as an abyss, radiated by that Emperor did not seem weaker than any of the chaotic gods Wu Shangfeng described.

In fact, within that majesty was a majestic will that the evil gods lacked—one dedicated to safeguarding humanity's peace for countless generations.

A thought, uncontrolled, surfaced in his mind.

Perhaps an entity of the Emperor’s caliber was the true meaning of a god in the legends?

Wu Shangfeng looked at the faces below the stage, each kindled with a desire to fight, and nodded with satisfaction.

He continued to supplement the details of the mission.

"This time, Chu Lan will still command, and the rest will fight with their dormitories as units."

"..."

"The objective of the mission is to purge all rebel forces within the C-3 mine. The topographic map of the mine's interior and the rebel troop deployment will be sent to your terminals after the teleportation begins."

"This time, the school will provide each student with a complimentary 'Chastiser' Tier I light power combat suit, as well as Tier I standard alloy cold weapons."

"Lastly, I emphasize again the danger of the mission."

Wu Shangfeng's expression became more serious than ever before.

"Nurgle’s followers spread disease and plague. Pay attention to protection; once the 'Chastiser' Tier I power combat suit is damaged, please disengage from the battlefield within half an hour."

"Maintaining absolute calm and focus in battle is more important than any technique."

"Are you all ready?"

"Ready!"

"Very well. Go change into your combat suits, take up your weapons, and you have half an hour of preparation time!"

Wu Shangfeng's command was like a clarion call, instantly dispelling the heaviness and confusion born from the names of the "Chaos Gods" in the hearts of all students.

Replacing it was a chilling aura of execution, about to rush to the battlefield.

No one uttered any more superfluous words.

Led by the class monitor Chu Lan, all students of Class Three, Grade One quickly and orderly made their way to the logistics depot next to the martial arts hall.

The heavy door of the depot gleamed with a cold metallic light, sliding slowly to both sides after identity verification passed.

What caught their eyes were rows of uniform iron creations, filled with a sci-fi and violent aesthetic.

Dozens of "Chastiser Tier I" light power combat suits, like silent iron sentinels, stood quietly on alloy racks.

Their overall paint scheme was a deep dark green representing the Martial Arts Department of Qiming First High School, while the joints and power conduits were a steady matte black.

The lines of the combat suits were smooth and sharp, discarding all unnecessary decorations; every curve and every edge served the mobility and protection of actual combat.

Upon the breastplate was stamped the emblem of Qiming First High Martial Arts High School—a burning morning star surrounded by seven satellites.

Beside the combat suits was the weapon rack.

Upon it lay brand-new "Tier I standard alloy cold weapons" that gleamed with a chilling sharpness.

Long sabers, battle swords, great axes, shields... everything needed was there.

According to their own combat habits, the students quickly found the weapons that matched their primary killing arts, as well as their own power combat suits.

Qin Feng, Qian Duoduo, and Shi Potian also quickly found their equipment.

"Tsk tsk, truly handsome!"

Qian Duoduo caressed the cold iron armor before him, his eyes shining.

He chose a giant tower shield that was close to his own height, along with a heavy one-handed war hammer.

Shi Potian took up a standard long saber that was similar in shape to his private battle blade; the blade was straight, the edge sharp, emitting a grim chill.

Qin Feng's gaze, however, fell upon the very end of the weapon rack.

There lay quietly a three-meter-long alloy spear.

This spear was cast as a single piece entirely from high-strength composite metal, presenting a deep iron-gray hue.

The shaft was straight without any redundant patterns, except for rings of anti-slip threads engraved near the spearhead to increase friction.

The spearhead was a classic armor-piercing conical design, its tip gleaming with a speck of ghostly cold light, filled with a fatal penetrative power.

It was more exquisite than the alloy spears used in daily training.

Yet when Qin Feng reached out to grasp it, that familiar, heavy weight made him feel a sense of intimacy and tranquility from the bottom of his heart.

The spear was an extension of his arm, the manifestation of his will.

The three of them each collected their equipment and stepped into independent changing cubicles.

With the assistance of the intelligent system, the process of donning the power combat suit was not complicated.

"Click... Click..."

Accompanied by crisp sounds of metallic interlocking.

Pieces of dark green alloy armor were precisely fitted over various parts of Qin Feng's body.

Breastplate, backplate, pauldrons, gauntlets, greaves...

Finally, a full-coverage, streamlined helmet descended slowly, connecting seamlessly with the collar armor. "Hum—"

A slight sound of energy activation rang out from the miniature psionic reactor on the back.

Inside the combat suit, pale blue indicator lights lit up one by one.

Upon the helmet's visor, a feature-rich tactical HUD (Heads-Up Display) interface was instantly activated.

[ "Chastiser Tier-I" power combat suit, startup complete. ]

[ Vital signs monitoring system, normal. ]

[ External environment scanning system, normal. ]

[ Miniature psionic reactor, energy output... 100%. ]

[ Neural induction connection... synchronization rate 98.7%. ]

The cold systemic prompt echoed in Qin Feng's ears.

The next second, a surging and powerful force conducted from every joint of the combat suit, instantly enveloping his entire body.

Qin Feng tried to move his body.

He discovered to his surprise that this iron armor, which looked incredibly heavy, felt almost weightless when worn.

On the contrary, it felt like a layer of firmer, more powerful iron skin that had grown out of himself.

Every thought of his, through the neural sensory link, was transformed into the movements of the combat suit without any delay.

Whether raising a hand or kicking a leg, it was as natural as using his own limbs, fluid and effortless.

When he stepped out of the changing room, a brand-new steel warrior, filled with a murderous aura, appeared in the mirror.

His originally upright figure, set off by the combat suit, appeared even taller and more robust.

The dark green armor perfectly outlined the muscular lines of his body, brimming with explosive power.

The full-coverage helmet concealed his face, leaving only a T-shaped observation window emitting a faint blue glow, cold and mysterious.

In his hand, the three-meter-long iron-gray alloy spear complemented the dark green battle armor, together forming a picture full of the atmosphere of future warfare—cold and powerful.

This was the killing tool that the Empire had prepared for its warriors.

Qin Feng slowly raised his hand and clenched his fist.

An unprecedented, powerful feeling surged into his heart.

He could clearly sense that his own psionic energy, through a marvelous micro-circulation system, was exchanging energy with the micro-reactor behind the combat suit.

The combat suit was continuously drawing psionic energy from his body as part of its drive core.

At the same time, the more massive energy generated by the reactor was reversely amplifying his body.

Under this marvelous energy resonance, his strength, speed, endurance—all his data metrics—were soaring upward at an astonishing rate!

Qin Feng called up his tactical HUD interface to view real-time data feedback.

[User: Qin Feng]

[Current Body Data (After Power Suit Amplification):]

[Comprehensive Strength Assessment: +32%]

[Comprehensive Speed Assessment: +31%]

[Comprehensive Endurance Assessment: +35%]

[Respiratory and Contact Infection Protection Devices Activated]

[...]

Overall strength had increased by at least thirty percent!

And this was only the most basic, standard-issue Class I powered combat suit.

Qin Feng could not imagine what terrifying, world-shattering amplification the higher-level, various models of advanced power armor prepared for the war legions would bring.

"Click, click."

The doors of the changing room opened one after another.

Qian Duoduo and Shi Potian, also fully equipped, walked out.

Qian Duoduo had become a mobile steel fortress. In his left hand he held a giant tower shield that could almost cover his entire body, and in his right hand he carried a heavy warhammer, his whole being exuding a thick "don't mess with me" aura.

Shi Potian, on the other hand, was like a drawn blade. The long saber in his hand merged perfectly with his sharp-lined battle armor; even standing still, he exuded an unmatched, sharp blade intent.

The three exchanged glances, and from beneath each other's cold T-shaped visors, they could feel each other's soaring battle spirit.

They were ready.

Over the next ten-plus minutes, Qin Feng silently adapted to his explosively enhanced physical abilities and power armor functions, quietly waiting for departure.

Beep beep beep—

"All personnel, prepare to depart, accept the invitation."

Wu Shangfeng raised his hand, and a beam of light shot from his wrist terminal.

On the ground beneath their feet, countless complex psionic arrays flickering with blue light emerged.

A vast, indescribable spatial energy began to converge in the room.

"Target, Inferno-IV, C-3 Mine."

"All personnel, teleportation commencing!"

Dazzling white light instantly engulfed the entire training room.
