Chapter 479: Magic Cooperation

The detailed wedding procedures were arranged by specialized court personnel, and Ronin simply needed to follow the established steps.

Although there were no organizations such as churches in the Kingdom of Auduin, the procedures included ceremonies witnessed by the Seven Gods. However, these weren't troublesome—just the officiant solemnly reciting lines, followed by the king delivering blessings, and then it was done.

Afterwards came the lively banquet.

Ronin held Blanche's hand, receiving blessings from many people. After about two or three hours of activity, matters at the Golden Feather Palace finally concluded.

"Alright, Ronin, you should take Blanche back now."

Bruno raised his wine glass, offering his final blessing: "Wishing you happiness!"

Other nobles also raised their glasses, uttering similar sentiments.

"Thank you for everyone's blessings!"

Ronin and Blanche drank the wine in their cups, then handed the glasses to a nearby attendant.

"Let's go, Blanche."

Ronin smiled and directly lifted the bride into a horizontal embrace. Blanche's cheeks flushed slightly, burying her head in Ronin's chest.

Ronin laughed heartily, leaped up, and landed on the back of the giant dragon.

Carlos emitted a joyful neigh, then slowly spread his wings, soaring into the sky amid the awe and envy of the crowd, swiftly returning to Ursanburg.

Bruno watched his daughter depart, a flicker of contentment briefly appearing in his eyes.

Although at the start of the marriage alliance, he hadn’t cared what kind of life his daughter would have marrying Ronin—he cared about what benefits he could gain—now he saw that Ronin and Blanche genuinely had feelings for each other, which was a good thing.

"Your sister should be quite happy."

Bruno smiled and said to Garrett beside him: "I can sense that Ronin is an upright, kind, and trustworthy child. For Auduin and the Ursan family, cheers!"

He raised his glass and clinked it with Garrett's.

"Cheers!"

Garrett smiled somewhat stiffly, only symbolically taking a sip.

During this banquet, he heard too many praises for Ronin, even faintly overhearing comparisons between himself and Ronin, which made him very uncomfortable.

Now that Ronin had left, his father continued praising him, which also stirred some resentment in his heart.

He could see that his father was extremely satisfied with this marriage alliance, and repeatedly mentioned that the union with the Ursan family was the most correct political decision Bruno had made over many years.

High above, Ronin and Blanche embraced, quickly arriving over the vast Howling Sea.

"Ronin, lately I’ve dreamt about our wedding scenes. Yet when this day finally arrived, I feel somewhat unreal."

Blanche nestled in her beloved’s embrace, encircling his waist, feeling as if she held the whole world.

"What part feels unreal?"

Ronin stroked her long hair, his voice joyful and affectionate.

"Perhaps it all came too quickly. I never imagined my husband would be the strongest in Auduin, nor that he would come riding a dragon to fetch me."

Blanche lifted her head to look at Ronin, her eyes shimmering with tender light, "All this feels like a fairy tale depicted in books."

Ronin gently kissed Blanche’s forehead, smiling, "Life itself is a story. With careful crafting, it naturally becomes beautiful like a fairy tale."

"Yes!" Blanche nodded emphatically.

Carlos soared through the azure sky, sea breeze carrying salty moisture against their faces, yet it couldn’t diminish the warmth between them.

In less than an hour, they traversed a distance ordinary people might never cross in their lifetime.

When the dragon descended again on Ursanburg’s square, the ducal castle’s bands and drummers began playing joyous music. Nobles gathered at Ursanburg all came out to welcome them.

Ronin held Blanche’s hand and stood up, arranging her garments and hair. Then both leaped down, beginning the second grand banquet.

Unlike the Golden Feather Palace wedding banquet, most guests at Ursanburg were nobles and knights of various sizes from the Ursan territory. Ronin’s subordinates, Reidar, Elron, and Macken, also managed to attend amidst their busy schedules.

Of course, there were also outsiders, such as the grand master mage Berola Silva from the Purple Crystal County.

Ronin originally thought Berola would send his grandson Randall, but unexpectedly, this grand master mage not only attended personally but came to Ursanburg, not the palace.

"How do you feel?"

Berola smiled warmly, looking at the newlyweds.

Actually, he didn’t wish to attend weddings, as such scenes made him reflect on his life.

He too had been young, had a lover, had children.

But over time, he witnessed his lover and children pass away, until now even his grandson was beginning to age.

Sometimes, long lifespan also brings troubles.

To dispel such troubles, he could only immerse his attention entirely in magical research.

Ronin shrugged, "Honestly, Blanche and I aren’t very comfortable in such settings."

"Ha, weddings always tire one a bit."

Berola said, pulling a crystal pendant from his pocket, "This is a little trinket I made myself, for you, beautiful lady."

"Thank you!"

Blanche smiled, accepting it, "This seems to be a magical pendant. Berola grandfather is truly thoughtful!"

"It’s inscribed with the ‘Wall of Sighs’ spell."

Berola explained, "But with Ronin around, you likely won’t need this in your lifetime, right, young ultimate powerhouse?"

They exchanged glances, laughing heartily.

Since the wedding began, many had gifted Ronin and Blanche things—jewelry, formal attire, war horses, etc.

Among the most valuable were from Sophia and Elron.

The former gifted a small spatial ring accompanied by a newly crafted magical flying carpet; the latter brought a necromancy book excavated from Gistanaburg.

This necromancy book indeed matched Blanche’s attributes. With her current high-level mage abilities, she could barely summon a silver-level skeletal warrior from the book. Ronin felt Blanche might not even need personnel for security.

"Berola sir, I’ve actually always wanted to discuss something with you, but never had time to visit your castle."

"Oh?"

Berola was somewhat curious, "I’d like to hear this."

"You might already know that Sophia from the Crescent Continent joined North Ursan territory. However, you might not know she comes from a genuine magical family, possessing magical knowledge far exceeding that of the Orlant continent."

The Fleming family also calls itself a magical family, but its strongest are only grand mages.

Sophia’s Siers family, currently led by a sage-level mage, indicates profound heritage just by this!

Ronin said, "Here, magical knowledge has a gap. She wishes to spread this magical knowledge across Orlant, enabling more people to engage in magical research."

Berola’s eyes brightened further. Having lived long, he understood more—this continent indeed had the gap Ronin mentioned.

"So you intend..."

"I plan to designate an area in North Ursan territory to establish a magical academy, to disseminate Sophia’s magical knowledge."

He looked at this grand master mage before him, "Simultaneously, I wish to invite you to serve as the honorary dean of the magical academy and hope you can provide some mage resources. I’ll hire them at high salaries to serve as lecturers."

"No problem!"

Bellorra agreed almost without thinking.

“But I have one condition: please allow me to study the magical knowledge brought by Sophia.”

“Of course.”

Roning smiled and suddenly whispered, “Actually, there is a special place in the Northern Territory—a mysterious teleportation array. If you’re interested, perhaps we could study it together.”

“Space magic?” Bellorra was astonished.

Over the years, he had only heard of space magic but never seen it firsthand.

Generally, only legendary-level magicians had the ability to delve into space magic.

However, this didn’t mean one couldn’t research and grasp related knowledge ahead of time.

Now, Bellorra became even more interested in the Northern Territory.

Magical research was a time-consuming and mentally draining endeavor. Though Roning could also study it, working alone would be slower.

That was why he thought of Bellorra.

Moreover, the Amethyst Earl’s territory was famously known as a sanctuary for magicians on the continent of Orlant. Collaborating with them would greatly aid the development of the Northern Territory.

After all, materials for magical potions were no longer a concern—the shortage was in magicians themselves.

Once this gap was filled, the production of enhancement potions would skyrocket.

For Bellorra, he might have known that helping Roning would weaken Crystal City’s standing, but he didn’t particularly care, and he also understood it couldn’t be stopped.

Roning himself was a Grand Magister, at the same level as Bellorra, and he had Sophia beside him, whose knowledge of magic far surpassed theirs.

Rather than doing thankless work, it was better to cooperate with Roning. (End of Chapter)
