Chapter 83: Yellow Turban Flying Sword
Chapter 83: Yellow Turban Flying Sword
"Tonight the cup reflects no bright moon, neon flickers, song and dance rise in peace. Only because of that tone-deaf tale, woodenly echoed, no one loses anything."
Thumping drumbeats and howling vocals erupted from the speakers, instantly igniting the alcohol-saturated air.
Li Jun inhaled that scorching heat into his lungs, his blood-smeared, bare torso exuding a dense, murderous qi.
He kicked off the ground, charging forward, lifting his knee and swinging his leg, a vicious whip kick lashing out at that ugly, fat face wearing an arrogant smile!
The blur of his leg tore through the air with a sharp hiss, only to be intercepted by a fist that suddenly thrust in from the side.
A 'figure' silently appeared beside Yu Kou.
Its stark naked body bore no discernible gender characteristics; its nearly flawless physique radiated a thick sense of artificial carving.
A bright yellow engraved talisman covered its face, completely concealing its features.
Countless metal filaments, fine as hair, extended from the talisman body, crawling along the neck toward the chest, finally intertwining to outline two massive seal characters.
Yellow Turban.
Daoist Guardian, Yellow Turban Mighty General!
"Go!"
Yu Kou formed a hand seal, pointing a finger at Li Jun.
That Yellow Turban Mighty General’s figure shot out in an instant, stepping forward like an arrow, twisting its torso to open its guard, a fist hammering toward Li Jun!
A surging fist wind enveloped the space before him, yet Li Jun suddenly felt a sense of familiarity.
"This is... Internal Force?!"
Li Jun’s brows sharply arched. He actually sensed Internal Force within this Yellow Turban Mighty General’s boxing frame!
One must know that whether it was Zhao Qingxia using Mimicry Martial Arts, or Gu Yong who stole the teachings, they utilized only the 'Form' of martial arts, yet this Yellow Turban Mighty General possessed both Spirit and Form.
This definitely wasn't some exclusive Daoist technique.
Even the Mohists and Confucians couldn't simulate the Internal Force of the Martial Dao sequence; Li Jun couldn't fathom what grounds the Daoists had to do so.
Unless, this Yellow Turban Mighty General was also of the Martial Dao sequence.
The moment this thought surfaced, it spread like a wildfire in Li Jun’s heart; suddenly boiling blood made him nearly unable to suppress a roar.
Li Jun opened his Baji Quan frame, crashing forward with a step, raising his hand to strike.
Fist peaks collided head-on, exploding with a muffled boom, like a bolt of dry thunder rolling in the clouds, followed immediately by a torrential downpour falling from the heavens.
The sound of fists was like the sound of rain, continuous and unending.
This utterly unadorned head-on clash compared whose bones were harder, contended whose physique was stronger.
Violent rain comes and goes with swift speed.
In the span of a few breaths, the Yellow Turban Mighty General could no longer withstand the sweeping, terrifying fist shadows; its horse stance instantly fell into chaos.
Cold light flashed in Li Jun’s eyes; he stepped in, crashing through the Yellow Turban Mighty General’s center line, pouring Baji Quan techniques onto its chest.
Crackling sounds of fracturing erupted continuously from the Yellow Turban Mighty General’s body; it flew sideways, toppling a liquor shelf, crashing into a floor of shattered glass, moving no more.
"Worthy of the seedling this Daoist Grandpa has his eye on; your fleshly body is even better than I anticipated."
An arrogant, domineering voice rang out, laced with the faint sound of tearing air.
By the time Li Jun reacted, a flying sword, barely a span long, had already stabbed before his face, its killing intent rushing him until his scalp tingled.
*Pfft!*
Li Jun folded his waist horizontally, leaning back. The flying sword nearly grazed his nose tip as it flashed past, yet the sharp sword qi still carved a long, narrow wound across his face.
Extending from his jaw all the way to the center of his brows, nearly cleaving his entire face in two.
Without a moment's hesitation, Li Jun, half his face stained red with blood, lunged forward with a stride, Baji Quan technique "Fierce Tiger Climbs the Mountain" crashing down on Yu Kou with a toppling force.
*Hum. Hum.*
Ripples suddenly spread through the air; an engraved talisman hovered silently above Li Jun’s head at some unknown moment.
A sudden, crushing pressure descended like a mountain range pressing on his shoulders; in this instant, not only were his movements frozen, Li Jun felt his very spirit fall into a trance.
*Whoosh!*
A flying sword whistled from behind, its tearing sound in no way inferior to Gu Yong’s sword assassination.
In this life-or-death instant, a high-pitched resonance of "Copper Lock Knocking the Gate" suddenly erupted from within Li Jun’s body!
Li Jun, who was already a bug trapped in amber, instantly regained clarity in his turbid eyes; his shoulders shook like a general doffing armor, shaking off that talisman’s power.
He spun, raising his palm, momentum like holding up the sky.
From bottom to top, he batted away the flying sword stabbing at his skull, simultaneously exploding forward with a crashing step, his form like a tiger leaving its cage, leaping with a knee strike at Yu Kou.
*Thud!*
A figure blocked the way before Yu Kou—it was that very Yellow Turban Mighty General, previously knocked flying and crashed far away.
Li Jun’s elbow tip pierced its face, smashing that engraved talisman to powder, revealing beneath a face that had its five features carved away.
A shattered bio-chip was embedded in the blurred flesh and blood.
The Yellow Turban Mighty General’s identity was self-evident.
Li Jun, face boiling with killing intent, pressed his lips tight.
Extreme rage renders one speechless.
Yu Kou seemingly hadn't expected the Yellow Turban Mighty General to die so cleanly and decisively; his face drastically changed, and he violently retreated backward.
Though his figure was obese, his movements were quite nimble.
A pity that in Li Jun’s eyes, this speed of his was no different from a pig trudging along.
Li Jun stepped forward in pursuit, clinging like a bone-eating parasite, sticking tight.
Baji Quan, grand opening and grand closing; the surging fist wind instantly blew apart the Daoist topknot on Yu Kou’s head.
The flesh on Yu Kou’s face twitched, a savage glint rising in his eyes.
Only to see his arms vibrate; several nerve cables dragged flying swords from his sleeves, stabbing into Li Jun’s body.
*Pfft!*
Flying swords entered flesh, piercing through Li Jun’s chest and out his back!
The sounds of flesh shattering and tendons snapping set one's teeth on edge.
Yu Kou’s mouth corners twitched, his lips just preparing to curl into an arrogant smile, yet he discovered in horror that the ferocity in those eyes before him remained undiminished!
Arrogance receded like the tide, fear following close on its heels.
Yu Kou’s hair stood on end; he just wanted to sever the connection with the nerve bundles, pull back and flee.
Alas, Li Jun’s right fist had already arrived, slamming heavily into Yu Kou’s face.
This fist exerted all his might; the tiger’s roar shook the ears deaf.
The massive mountain of flesh was likewise sent flying, fresh blood gushing continuously from the sunken fist crater on Yu Kou’s face.
“Fate branded upon the palm lines.”
The song in the speakers played on.
“Fate? Fuck that.”
Li Jun spat a mouthful of bloody phlegm, hands braced on his knees, gasping in great heaves, the bone-deep agony steadily devouring his will.
A wave of utter exhaustion washed over him; in the trance, faint Buddhist chants seemed to drift into his ears.
After a long while, Li Jun finally lifted his head. The scene before him had returned once more to the golden brick plaza before that temple.
“Greed, anger, ignorance, arrogance, doubt—four of your five viscera are already ruined. This final realm is your death knell.”
Upon the high platform, Mu Chi held a vajra pestle, his fingers forming the mudra of fearlessness.
“The Buddha is merciful, granting you one last chance to turn back from the lost path. Li Jun, are you willing to become a Buddhist disciple, to uphold the Vajra precepts?”
“Don’t… don’t fight…”
From the bundle on his back, soaked half-through with blood, came a faint, sorrowful whimper, as if urging Li Jun to give up.
Li Jun reached back and patted it gently, his voice soft and low.
“If you can see, then keep your eyes wide open. Watch closely.”
Li Jun threw his head back in pride. Though streaked with blood, his angular face still wore a lofty, defiant smile.
“Uncle will teach you how to kill a son of a bitch like this!”
In that instant, the sound of copper locks striking the gate thundered across the heavens, drowning out the pervasive Buddhist chants!
