Post-Book Testimonials
On February 6, 2020, I released *All Races*, and on January 31, 2021, I wrote the final chapter, drawing a full stop to this story belonging to Su Yu, to this world of Su Yu.
Nearly a year, over 8.3 million words, and the tale here has largely come to an end.
I opened no new maps—the map belonging to the Lord of Time remained unopened. Had I continued, I could have easily kept writing, but from the initial excitement of publishing, through the fervor and passion of the middle, to the exhaustion and murkiness of the later stages, Old Eagle knew it was time to finish.
Besides, this is Su Yu’s story; the Lord of Time need not steal the spotlight.
If he truly appears, well, perhaps in the next book—though the odds are slim. Maybe one day, when I feel like writing again, when my well runs dry, I might continue this legend of the Lord of Time, but the next book likely won’t touch on it.
Old Eagle said that even at the end, we would finish at the peak. And we did—nine consecutive championships!
The annual champion of 2020, with over seventy thousand average subscriptions on the main site at completion, and all rights—games, animation, comics, simplified Chinese, traditional Chinese, and audio—sold. Whether the day of adaptation will come, I cannot say, but *All Races*’ achievements surpassed imagination, breaking many records, including daily sales, which shifted from *Supreme Martial* to *All Races*. These are the honors you, brothers and sisters, have bestowed upon Old Eagle.
Of course, there are many honors and great results, but I must admit: the later part indeed lacked passion. Many things were simplified for a quick finish.
Old Eagle makes no excuses. No editor urged me to end; they wished I’d write for three or five more years. It was my own exhaustion, my fatigue, compounded by having a child, that left me mentally drained in the later stages. So I simplified many minor arcs—a true regret.
Another point: to maintain a high update speed, I had to simplify many character constructions. Figures like Wan Tiansheng, Lan Tian, and even Liu Wenyan, in my original vision, would have had small daily moments, little stories, and minor arcs of companionship and rise in the later part—all of which I cut short.
In short, *All Races* created many miracles, stronger than *Supreme Martial*, but its later part lacked the depth of character development that *Supreme Martial* had, nor did it receive the same care as the previous book. I must examine myself and feel some regret.
The grand finale—Su Yu’s ending—stayed within my imagination, not straying from the outline. Su Yu is tired, like Old Eagle; it’s time to rest. After rest, perhaps the beginning of the next story.
To fall at the peak, to slumber in invincibility, awaiting the next eruption and rise!
Enough rambling. Once again, I thank all you readers and big shots for your support, and I thank Qidian, Yuewen, and the editors for their backing.
For the next book, Old Eagle has no ideas, no plans, but there may be some changes. I can’t say specifics now; when I have thoughts, I might post a single chapter to chat.
Old Eagle started with urban fiction—*Fortune* was pure urban, *Supreme Martial* became half-urban, and *All Races* had little to do with urban. As for the next book’s category… let’s wait a few months; I have no clue now.
But there’s a preparatory period: I may rest for four to six months. If a new book is released, it should be after the New Year, between May and July. I’ll announce the exact time in a single chapter.
As for whether to write side stories for *All Races*, I might. If I do, perhaps tales of the Human Emperor and others in ancient times, the specific origin of Furball, or even stories about the Lord of Time.
Of course, female characters like Wu Lan and Xing Yue might also get their stories, depending on how lazy Old Eagle feels.
Finally, again, thank you all for your support, thank the big shots, and thank those who have supported Old Eagle through several books.
From *Fortune* in 2016 to now, in less than five years, Old Eagle has gained much: a wife, a child, a house. Only one big goal remains—a healthy body. So during this rest, I aim to recover from old ailments, so that for the next book and the one after, I’ll have the energy to write, while replenishing my reserves. My foundation is depleted; I need to recharge.
That’s all. Thank you, everyone!
See you in the next book, the next story!
As the last line of *Supreme Martial*’s final note said, let’s continue:
*All Races*, awesome!
Old Eagle, awesome!
All brothers and sisters, awesome!
