Chapter 315: Immortal Fairy Schemes Against the Four Ancient Immortals, Plotting Throughout Eternity
The silent master's cave dwelling, now thick with dust that none cared to sweep away.
Yun Zhi's humble cottage.
Lu Yang's cave dwelling.
The kitchen where Lu Yang and Yun Zhi used to dine.
The council chamber.
The Sect Master’s cave dwelling, once used to manage the various affairs of the Dao Seeking Sect, now requisitioned by Yun Zhi.
"Eldest Senior Sister, where is the Fairy's kitchen?" Lu Yang looked left and right, yet saw nothing resembling a kitchen behind his senior sister.
"Do not fret."
Yun Zhi fumbled within her sleeve for a moment before a refined architectural model appeared in her palm, no larger than a hand, crafted from a piece of jade that bore distinct marks of artificial carving.
"This is my kitchen!" The Immortal Fairy emerged from the spiritual space in high spirits.
"This is the Fairy's kitchen? I seem to recall it being inside the statue of the Immortal Cultivator?" Lu Yang had assumed his senior sister was going to move the entire statue out.
There was no need for the senior sister to explain this time, as the Immortal Fairy spoke up on her behalf: "How could this Immortal's kitchen have been inside the statue from the very beginning? Clearly, someone used spatial techniques to embed it within the sculpture."
"Later on, little girl Yun must have also utilized spatial manipulation to extract this Immortal's kitchen!"
The Immortal Fairy was visibly a bit too pleased with herself, referring to Yun Zhi as "little girl Yun" this time.
The Eldest Senior Sister paid no mind to such details, consulting with the Immortal Fairy: "Senior, only Lu Yang and I dine on Heavenly Gate Peak. There is no need to maintain two separate kitchens. I intend to dismantle the original kitchen and replace it with yours, if that is acceptable?"
Lu Yang: "!!!"
"Splendid," the Immortal Fairy agreed readily. A kitchen was meant to be used, after all, and her own kitchen was bound to be far superior to the original one.
The Eldest Senior Sister extended her left hand, striking a seal toward the original kitchen, which automatically shrank and vanished into her sleeve.
"Ah, the Universe within the Sleeve!" There were many methods to shrink objects, and the Immortal Fairy had been uncertain which one was used until she witnessed the casting process, immediately recognizing her method.
The Universe within the Sleeve was a spatial technique worthy of being called a great divine ability. Distinct from storage rings, it could harbor not only inanimate objects but living creatures as well, akin to forging a miniature world inside a sleeve—a classic hallmark of a true master.
After all, to perform the Universe within the Sleeve, one first had to wear garments with wide sleeves.
And wearing such attire was highly disadvantageous in battle; only those with absolute confidence in their own strength would dare to wear them.
Such as Yun Zhi.
Such as the Immortal Fairy.
"I used to employ this technique quite frequently in the past, tucking small snacks into my sleeves to pull out and munch on whenever I pleased."
"You can even fit a bed inside a sleeve, allowing you to sleep wherever you wish. Once, as I passed by the seashore, I watched the Kun-fish roaming the ocean and the flood dragons diving beneath the waves in absolute freedom. So, I cast my bed upon the waters, lay down, and drifted along with the sea breeze. You cannot imagine how delightful it was!"
The Immortal Fairy spoke with a lingering sense of nostalgia.
"This divine ability is also an excellent choice for delivering surprises."
"Weren't the Qilin Immortal and the others always too embarrassed to eat my cooking, breaking their promises every single time? So, I packed the prepared meals into my sleeve and went to visit them. They thought it was merely a casual call and welcomed me in. The moment I entered their cave dwellings, I suddenly pulled out the dishes to give them a surprise!"
Lu Yang pondered the scenario briefly, but found his imagination too deficient to picture just how desperate a scene that must have been.
"However, one cannot use this technique too many times."
"Why is that?"
The Immortal Fairy wrinkled her nose. "It easily leaves one smelling like a kitchen."
Yun Zhi tossed the Fairy's kitchen into the air. It expanded against the wind, growing larger and larger until it matched the size of Lu Yang's cave dwelling.
This was not even the kitchen's maximum capacity; the kitchen itself had been compressed by spatial spells, and its internal space was terrifyingly vast. During their previous visit, the three of them had only taken a cursory glance, leaving many areas unexplored by Lu Yang.
The Immortal Fairy's right hand moved with dazzling speed, seemingly weaving hand seals, as she spoke: "I shall grant both of you the authority to enter the kitchen. From now on, whoever wishes to come in may do so. We are all family here, no need for modesty."
The moment her voice fell, the Immortal Fairy flicked a seal toward Lu Yang—a simple line drawing of herself grinning foolishly.
Before Lu Yang could even react, the seal sank into his body and vanished. In the dim recesses of his mind, he felt a connection established with the Fairy's kitchen, as though a single thought could transport him inside.
Yun Zhi did not intervene, allowing the Fairy's seal to enter her own body.
"Speaking of which, I also gave this seal to the Heavenly Immortal and the other three, letting them enter my kitchen at will."
"After my cave dwelling was completed, I invited the four of them over as guests. No matter what I said, they insisted they would only take a look and that there was no need to treat them to dinner."
"But I am kind-hearted and beautiful, and I felt terribly guilty. They had traveled from so far away, across several planets and multiple light-years."
"How could they come all this way and leave without having a meal?"
"Since they adamantly refused to eat, I settled for the next best thing. I offered them the kitchen seals so they could enter my kitchen whenever they pleased."
"And so they accepted."
"The Heavenly Immortal and the others were quite full of curiosity. Whenever they encountered something new, they always wanted to try it out, so they activated the seals, opened the kitchen door, and stepped inside."
"And then?"
The Immortal Fairy let out a sinister chuckle, as if a scheme had succeeded: "I only said the seal allowed them to enter the kitchen at will; I never said it allowed them to leave at will."
She snorted coldly: "They thought they could leave after entering my kitchen? Every single one of them had to stay and obediently eat!"
"You know the level of my culinary skills; it's so delicious one wishes to lick the plates clean. Once the four of them had eaten and drunk their fill, they fell fast asleep inside the kitchen. Fortunately, I kept a bed in there, otherwise they would have slept on the floor."
"Upon waking, they bid their farewells one after another and departed from my cave dwelling."
A shiver ran down Lu Yang's spine as a vivid picture formed in his mind.
Four young men, taking advantage of a dark and windy night, went to explore an abandoned castle. They slowly pushed open the great gates, finding nothing but pitch-black darkness within, where even the moonlight was swallowed by the fortress.
Suddenly, the castle gates slammed shut with a resounding crash. One by one, lamps fueled by human fat flickered to life, and the mistress of the castle, clad in a crimson gown, descended from above. Cackling wildly, she declared, "Now that you have come, do not dream of leaving."
The four young men trembled in terror, bitterly regretting their decision to explore the castle.
If this tale were passed down to future generations, it might be remembered as—The Immortal Fairy outmaneuvered eternity, plotting against the four ancient immortals single-handedly to achieve a total victory, leaving them unconscious.
A truly terrifying intellect.
Lu Yang suddenly snapped to attention: "Wait, the seal you just gave us..."
The Immortal Fairy replied nonchalantly: "Oh, after that single meal, I gave them the seals that allowed free entry and exit, and the ones I gave to the two of you are exactly the same."
