Chapter 887: What Rights and Capabilities Does This Bald Head Have to Dare Call Himself the God of War?!
The blade's radiance seemed to harbor the boundless fury of the gods, and that divine wrath portended nothing less than utter destruction.
The earth trembled violently as countless fragments of debris drifted unnaturally toward the sky, dissolving into scattered flakes of ash.
The ground sank continuously beneath a terrifying divine pressure that rendered everyone incapable of stirring even a fraction of an inch.
In the next breath, the divine sword fell, sending a peerless beam of light stretching endlessly down the street, a world-ending energy that cleft through to the very edge of existence.
Everything below was instantly swallowed whole.
Isabella, the Valkyrie, slowly sheathed her blade, gazing upon the strike with serene satisfaction.
What was the "Wrath of Zeus"? What were incantations and magic? Before this single strike, they were all reduced to a mere joke.
This was the sheer might of a primordial deity.
A power that humanity dared not even fathom in their wildest dreams.
"So... you were nothing but a cowardly turtle after all," she scoffed. "The Demon Gods of the Nine Serenities amount to no more than this."
It took a long while for the rolling smoke and dust to finally disperse.
Right then, a flicker of surprise crossed Isabella’s face.
Through her imperious, naturally majestic gaze, she beheld a massive, invisible barrier slowly dissolving amidst the ruins and yellow dust beneath her blade, revealing that every single soul within remained entirely unscathed.
A solitary figure stood tall at the very forefront of the crowd, clad in crimson and gold armor, horns crowning his head, with dark red hair flaring out and dancing wildly in the wind.
No, perhaps he could not be called a man, but rather... a demon god.
His expression was one of untamed arrogance, a demon god who ruled supreme over the three realms and six paths of reincarnation.
The Demon Lord—Chong Lou.
"You finally... dare to show yourself?" A faint smile played at the corner of Isabella’s lips; her face had been virtually devoid of emotion until now, but a glimmer of what could be called satisfaction finally sparked in her eyes.
At that exact moment, a nearly imperceptible stream of data flashed across Fang Qi’s dark eyes, sparks of deep purple lightning crackled, and the guise of Demon Lord Chong Lou instantly faded away.
"Is that... the Boss?!"
"It's you?!" Isabella was mildly taken aback; her previous avatar in the mortal realm had seen Fang Qi through a magical projection, and had even witnessed him utilizing the power of the Sun.
Back then, he did not seem to possess this level of strength at all.
Her mortal avatar was an extension of her own self, so she was naturally aware of these secrets surrounding Fang Qi.
With her vast experience, she quickly discerned what was happening, sizing Fang Qi up with a discerning, critical eye before speaking: "My avatar looked forward to a battle with you long ago, human. It seems that for a mere mortal, you possess a modicum of talent."
"Who even are you?" Owner Fang asked, entirely bewildered. "Do I know you?"
"That person is...?!" Just then, the world mage Hemar cried out in shock, "That is... the prodigy of the Divine Kingdom, Princess Isabella?! Princess Isabella of the Radiant Divine Kingdom!"
"So it is you?" the Valkyrie Isabella remarked coldly. "A wise soul submits to the circumstances, yet you chose to stand on the opposing side. Truly foolish."
"However, I have no interest in you today," she stated chillingly, fixing her gaze on Fang Qi. "You had best summon the guardians standing behind you. Allowing them to fight by borrowing your body grants you absolutely no chance of victory."
"Guardians... so that's how it is?!" A chorus of players began whispering excitedly in the back; after all, every time they watched Owner Fang, he was always fighting with the strength of others.
The Great Sage Equal to Heaven, Orochi... so that was their true identity?
It was, after all, the only explanation that made any sense.
"But... Your Highness," Hermadon interjected, "the power you just displayed wasn't entirely your own either, was it?"
"No, she is no princess," Swain spoke up from the side, his expression deeply solemn. "If I am not mistaken, this lady is the legendary, undefeated fixture of the battlefield who resides within the Pantheon—the youngest of the primordial gods, the Valkyrie."
"You human monkeys possess a fair bit of insight," Isabella remarked with a slight nod, naturally acknowledging the claim.
"What...?!"
"The Valkyrie?!"
"They say... although the Hall of Arbitration worships the Radiant God of Arbitration, there are still countless other deities within the Divine Kingdom..."
"Then who is stronger?"
"No one has ever said..."
While the crowd below chattered away, Isabella grew rather impatient.
"Well?" The Valkyrie Isabella swept a cold glance over Fang Qi and demanded, "Could it be that the demon gods behind you happen to be absent today?"
"If that is the case..." Her gaze turned ice-cold, "then the lives of these mortals can no longer be spared!"
"They're here, of course they're here," Owner Fang spoke up. "I was just pondering which one would be best to choose. How about..."
Owner Fang produced a communication jade, and within moments, selected four illustrations to display: "How about... you pick one yourself?"
"Hmm!!??"
Isabella cast a glance, observing the holographic projection emitted by the communication jade. The first figure was a strikingly handsome, ancient-faced demon god dressed in magnificent, sweeping black robes and wearing a golden feathered crown.
Owner Fang’s communication jade was of exceptional quality, custom-made by the Wuwei Daoist Alliance, throwing out a life-sized three-dimensional projection that felt intensely real.
Names were even inscribed above them.
"Abandoning Heaven Emperor?!"
She then looked toward the second one: "Demon Lord Chong Lou?"
The third was a silver-armored man with a vertical eye resting upon his brow: "True Lord Erlang?"
The fourth was a monkey clad in glittering golden armor: "Great Sage Equal to Heaven?!"
The fifth was a burly, martial bald man wielding a pair of chained blades: "God of War, Kratos?"
"Hmph! Are these the newly risen demon generals of the Nine Serenities? How is it that they all look so unfamiliar?!" The Valkyrie Isabella swung her massive sword with an air of awe-inspiring authority, declaring, "No need to choose, let them face me all at once!"
Owner Fang's face darkened as he stared back, snapping, "No, you must choose just one. If you pick too many, you won't be able to beat them anyway, so what's the point of choosing so many?"
"You—!" Isabella nearly choked on her own anger. Did this human have any inkling of how her title as the Valkyrie had been forged?! It was carved out by slaughtering these very demon generals of the Nine Serenities. "Fine! You shall have them face me one by one. When they all perish beneath my blade, do not regret it!"
"Let this Kratos come forth!" A pair of pristine white feathered wings slowly unfurled from Isabella’s back, her surging divine power erupting in another massive crescendo.
She raised her divine sword, pointing it directly at the projected image of Kratos within the communication jade, her eyes filled with boundless mockery: "I was granted the title of Valkyrie due to my illustrious military exploits and the countless demons I have slain. By what right does this bald man dare call himself a God of War?!"
The moment the words left her mouth, a hulking silhouette materialized, clad in a majestic set of war god armor, gripping the Blades of Chaos as he looked her up and down coldly.
The absolute detachment reflecting in his eyes made it seem as though he were merely sizing up a corpse.
For reasons unknown... a sudden, inexplicable chill ran straight down the Valkyrie Isabella’s spine!
