Chapter 888: God of War VS Valkyrie!

After casting a discerning gaze upon the God of War standing before her, the Valkyrie Isabella quickly found herself at ease: "I wondered what manner of deity you were; though you possess divine power, in essence... you remain nothing but a mere mortal."

"Can a creature of half-human lineage truly claim the title of 'God of War'?" With her greatsword raised ostentatiously and a pair of colossal wings unfurled, the exquisite black-and-red armor she wore lent the hovering Isabella an indescribable aura of martial majesty. "Allow your elder sister to teach you what war between true gods is truly like!"

The words had scarcely left her lips when the greatsword in her grasp, brimming with a violently immense divine power, cleft downward like a streak of cascading light.

Bearing the brunt of the assault, the God of War, Kratos, sidestepped the blow in a mere flash of motion; in the very next instant, the distant forest extending far beyond the city walls below collapsed into ruin, a crescent-shaped scar carved into the earth like a meteoric crater, reducing everything in its vicinity to scorched wasteland.

"Do you see? The power of a true god compared to a demigod like you—"

Before she could finish her sentence, a pair of orange-tinted flames came slashing down through the air!

Kratos uttered not a single word, yet the moment Isabella parried with her greatsword, she instantly felt an appalling, monstrous strength reverberating from those twin demonic blades, which seemed to hail from the depths of hell itself.

She felt, to her astonishment, that the two short blades—which appeared laughingly small when measured against her own weapon—struck her sword with the crushing, monumental weight of prehistoric greataxes.

Caught utterly off guard, Isabella’s expression shifted instantly as the sheer momentum sent her hurtling backward through the air like a falling meteor.

In the next heartbeat, she saw her adversary hurl the blades forward, wrapped in dark-red chains glowing hot like branding irons; the weapons hooked into her just as she was flying away, violently dragging her back toward him.

By then, the other Blade of Chaos was already waiting for her to collide into its path.

Pulled between these twin opposing forces, Isabella felt herself reduced to a mere marionette, her every movement thoroughly dictated by her opponent's whim!

She harbored no doubt that a simple thrust from him, driven by the simultaneous execution of those two immense forces, could easily pierce clean through her divine armor.

The massive wings upon her back flared, swirling in the sky like a black hurricane; at the absolute precipice of disaster, the unbreakable feathers narrowly deflected the strike, leaving only a single white feather drifting in the heavens.

Yet an instant later, she caught the whistling howl of blades rushing from behind her once more!

She felt as though she were trapped within the absolute eye of a tempest, besieged by a relentless onslaught that granted not a single moment to draw breath, and furthermore...

What kind of divine power was this opponent wielding?!

It was as if the power of countless deities had been bound together—a chaotic, variegated divine energy forced into a single crucible, each strand incredibly pure, as though touching the very essence of existence itself.

Inexplicably, she even seemed to hear the faint, echoing roars and agonized wails of a myriad of gods contained within it.

"Just what kind of god are you?!" Isabella had never encountered a divine power of this nature in all her existence.

"You choose silence, then?!" With a gaze turned harsh and cold, she swung her sword, utilizing her own immense divine might to forcibly pry the twin blades away. "Very well, I shall discover it for myself soon enough!"

The wings upon her back beat powerfully as divine energy surged wildly within her veins, causing the heavens, the earth, and the very fabric of space to tremble before this majestic force.

They shuddered, and in this moment, it seemed as though the entire world prostrated itself in awe!

In a flash, she transformed into a streak of black-and-white light that accelerated wildly until it shattered the limits of visual perception, vanishing entirely from sight!

Between heaven and earth, a succession of piercing thunders echoed faintly; the sky was clear for ten thousand miles, yet not a single soul could be seen.

But in the very next heartbeat—perhaps a mere ten-thousandth of a fleeting instant—before anyone could possibly react.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

Amidst a continuous chain of thunderous roars, the distant mountains crumbled to pieces as Kratos’s entire frame was struck squarely by that black-and-white streak of light, the terrifying power smashing through several massive peaks in succession.

Only then did the velocity slacken slightly, revealing the Valkyrie Isabella’s greatsword plunging viciously toward Kratos’s torso; despite his immense divine power summoned to resist, an injury deep enough to glimpse bone was carved into Kratos’s abdomen, worsening by the second.

Right at that moment, a massive shadow loomed directly behind them—the form of a spectacularly majestic mountain peak.

With a sharp cry, she exerted her strength once more, using the greatsword to drive Kratos’s body forward, aiming to impale him ruthlessly into the heart of that colossal mountain peak, as if to pin him there for eternity!

"In aerial combat, a true deity commands absolute dominion!" A sneer of disdain touched her features; after all... a mortal was ultimately just a mortal.

Suddenly, however, a pair of massive black wings unfurled from behind Kratos, and a pair of heavily muscled arms locked tightly around the midsection of her greatsword, reversing the momentum at the precise instant before impact to swing the weapon violently around.

To Isabella’s absolute shock, she was hurled headfirst into the mountain peak instead, the immense inertia instantly shattering the divine armor upon her body to pieces.

An earth-shattering cataclysm immediately followed.

The thousand-foot peak collapsed by nearly half on the spot, sending countless boulders cascading down to bury the forests and magical beasts at the mountain's base entirely!

...

A long while later, amidst shifting rocks and a trembling earth, two figures shot out from beneath the ground like cannonballs.

"How many years has it been since I last felt pain?" Isabella remarked, her gaze fixed intently upon the figure before her. "I truly did not expect that you would possess the strength to wrestle with a god."

"Nonetheless... you shall never defeat me!" With a furious roar, her shattered divine armor began to mend at a pace visible to the naked eye, alongside the injuries upon her body; even the trickles of noble divine blood she had spilled began to flow backward, as if time itself were reversing.

This was the true power of a deity—the great Valkyrie, a primordial god surpassing all things in the world, immortal and eternal! No entity could bring about her demise; neither god nor demon could manage it, and a mortal... was entirely out of the question!

In the blink of an eye, the wounds upon her person were completely healed.

Such a spectacle would likely evoke a profound sense of despair in the heart of any onlooker.

Thus, she remained entirely unbothered, casting her gaze over in anticipation of savoring the shock and hopelessness on this mortal's face.

Yet... as she stood with arms crossed, her lips curled into a cold, proud arc, and her sharp, elegant eyes swept over.

She saw that Kratos bore no wounds whatsoever, without even a trace of blood upon him, as though the injury from moments ago had been nothing more than an illusion.

"???" Hovering in the void, the proud Isabella suddenly blinked her eyes in sheer bewilderment; what... how could this be?!

In the next instant, her eyes widened in shock as she stared at Kratos, who had unexpectedly produced a greatsword of his own—a blue greatsword wreathed in countless arcs of lightning, from which she could distinctly feel the unmistakable aura of the King of the Gods...!

Though his lips remained sealed, as he slowly raised the greatsword into a combat stance, she could almost hear a declaration: Now, it is my turn!

Ah... because I haven't played every single generation of God of War from 1 to 4, gathering some of the detailed information took a bit of time, so the update is late, my apologies.
