Chapter 600: Arrival

Chapter 600: Arrival

Li Huowang sat on the plastic seat of the bus, biting his own wrist with his teeth as he gazed out at the rapidly passing street scenery. His mind raced through all that had happened to him recently.

At this moment, a white mask covered his face, deliberately concealing the scar on his cheek so no one would recognize him.

After hesitating for a while, he suddenly pulled out Wu Cheng’s phone and quickly dialed a number deeply etched in his memory.

"Hello? Who is this?" The soft voice of Yang Na came through the phone.

The long-unheard voice sent a tremor through Li Huowang's heart. It had been far too long since he'd heard that familiar tone.

"Hello? Who's there?"

Li Huowang quickly regained his composure, pressing his hand against his throat and lowering his voice deliberately. "Hello, is this ID Rabbit? There are two packages for you here. Please come get them from school. They're quite large; it's hard to store them at the locker."

"What? Packages? I haven't bought anything recently."

"Maybe someone gave them to you. Please come sign for them quickly."

"I'm sorry... I'm not available right now. I have something going on today and I'm not at school. If it's really inconvenient, just refuse delivery."

Hearing this, Li Huowang felt a sudden relief. Good, regardless, Yi Donglai had finally delivered his message to Yang Na.

No matter where Yang Na was hiding now, it was better than staying in place.

He just needed to hold out until he reached the dock. Once he completely dealt with Xu Shou, Yang Na would be safe.

"Huowang?" A hesitant voice came from the other end of the line.

Li Huowang's heart skipped a beat, but he forced himself to act casually. "What? Oh, alright then. I'll go deliver the others. I'll take these packages back to the station first."

With that, he hurriedly hung up and immediately blacklisted the number.

Li Huowang covered his mouth with his hand and closed his eyes tightly. He really wanted to meet Yang Na, but not now.

But now, her life could be in danger at any moment. He had to save her first before anything else.

Meeting her prematurely would only make her more worried.

Her mental state was already fragile; he couldn't let her illness worsen because of him.

Taking a deep breath, Li Huowang looked at the others inside the bus who were staring at their phones. Suddenly, everything around him seemed very strange.

It had been a long time since he'd appeared freely in public like this. This feeling was truly unique.

For a moment, Li Huowang's expression became dazed, and the surrounding environment began to twist, as if transforming into a wooden carriage.

"Beep—senior card," the bus announcement brought Li Huowang back to reality.

"Ten stops to the dock. Stay calm. Don’t let anyone recognize you," Li Huowang thought to himself, pulling at his collar.

Just then, an elderly man with a bald head and fishing rod walked toward him from the front of the bus.

When he saw Li Huowang's eyes, he shuddered violently, turned away tremblingly, and grabbed the pull handle.

This reaction instantly raised Li Huowang's suspicions.

After a moment of hesitation, he still didn’t feel at ease and stood up, walking over to confront the old man.

Upon seeing the man's face, his pupils contracted slightly. This old man was his fellow patient—the old Liu who had lost his false teeth after being punched by him!

"Click—squeak—"

The bus door opened, and the panicked Old Liu rushed down with his fishing rod and bucket.

Seeing Li Huowang follow him, Old Liu abandoned both his fishing rod and bucket and started running frantically.

"Old Liu! Why are you running?! I’m cured!" Li Huowang ran up beside him and grabbed him.

"I... I don’t believe it!!"

Desperately broken, Old Liu screamed desperately: "Help! Someone help! Call the police! A lunatic is killing people!!"

"Shut up! Keep shouting and I’ll kill you!" When Li Huowang pulled out a small saw and pressed it against Old Liu’s stomach, Old Liu shut his mouth obediently.

Dragging Old Liu behind a green belt, when he saw that Old Liu's single shout hadn’t attracted much attention, he finally exhaled in relief.

After calming his emotions slightly, Li Huowang whispered to Old Liu, "I'm sorry, I don't want to do this to you either, but I must do something extremely important right now! Before finishing this task, I can't be caught!"

Looking at the bloodstains on the metal saw, Old Liu swallowed hard. "Fine, you... go ahead. I won't report it."

"Heh, I know you too well. You cheat at cards with other patients. I don't trust your word. Is anyone else at home?" Li Huowang lifted him up and supported him as they walked forward.

"W-what are you going to do?" Hearing this, Old Liu turned pale.

"I have no one at home. My son went to work, my little grandson is at school."

"I don't plan to do anything. I need to make sure you don’t call the police once you get back!"

"Xiao Li, I really won't report it. Please spare me. I was actually ill before. I didn't mean to hurt your girlfriend."

However, Old Liu's words did little to change Li Huowang's firm stance.

Soon, they arrived at Old Liu’s house—a second-floor apartment in a residential complex, which indeed had no one inside.

Li Huowang quickly bound Old Liu to the toilet with tape, securing him tightly so he couldn't escape.

Ignoring Old Liu's pleas, Li Huowang didn't leave immediately. Instead, he entered the kitchen to select a suitable weapon.

If he intended to fight these people head-on, just holding a metal saw wouldn't suffice. He needed a proper tool.

"Xiao Li, please! I really won’t report it!" The crisp sound of metal hitting metal from the kitchen made Old Liu’s hair stand on end.

Quickly selecting a long-handled bone knife, Li Huowang returned to the bathroom.

"Xiao Li, you can kill me, but please spare my grandson!" Old Liu cried out despairingly.

Li Huowang frowned deeply. "How many times do I have to tell you, I’m not crazy!"

"Yes yes yes, you’re not crazy, you’re not crazy," Old Liu nodded like a chicken pecking grain.

Li Huowang took out a dish towel, stuffed it into his mouth, and sealed it with tape so he couldn’t make any noise. "Sorry, I have no choice. You recognized me."

After dealing with this threat, Li Huowang pushed open the door and stepped outside.

Descending the stairs, Li Huowang returned to the bus stop at the entrance of the residential area and hailed a bus heading to the seaside dock.

Sitting on the increasingly empty bus, Li Huowang frowned, contemplating what awaited him next.

Soon, the dock arrived. The stacked containers gave him a great sense of oppression.

Now, a problem lay before him: how to enter.
