Chapter 861: Visit

Chapter 861: Visitation

Number 13!! Someone’s visiting the prison! Li Huowang, looking somewhat worn out, was led by a prison guard to the visiting room, where he pulled out a chair and sat down.

With a cold expression, he looked up at the guard who had unlocked his cuffs and said, “I’m not a prisoner. I’m not here for a prison visit. I’m here for a family visit. I’m in the psychiatric ward. I’m a patient.”

“I know, I know. Who in Bai Ta doesn’t know you, Li Huowang? You’re way more trouble than an actual inmate. You made a mistake, but we can’t deduct points from you or add time to your sentence. We have to pamper you instead. You’re not a patient—you’re an emperor.”

He tugged hard on the chain, then turned and walked away. “Be good. There are cameras. They only took off the restraints so your family wouldn’t suffer too much.”

Though his handcuffs and shackles were removed, the device preventing self-harm on his head remained.

Li Huowang stretched lazily, rubbed his wrists, and sighed. Being cuffed every day really was unbearable.

“So... who’s visiting today?” he thought to himself.

Yang Na was out of the question. The most likely possibility was his mother, Sun Xiaoqin, and his father, Li Jiancheng.

“Mom’s here?” Li Huowang looked toward the door with three parts fear and seven parts anticipation.

But just as his eyes began to gleam brighter, a heavily tattooed arm covered in thorn-like designs dashed his hopes.

“What? You’re disappointed to see me?” Ba Naxu, chewing something, picked up the phone and asked through the glass toward Li Huowang.

She still wore her gothic outfit, unchanged from when he’d seen her at the tattoo parlor, though her tattoos seemed to have evolved.

“No, it’s fine. It’s enough that someone came to see me. Thanks, Ba Hui.”

“What happened to your eyes?”

“I locked them.”

“With your own hands?”

“Yeah.”

“Heh, impressive. You’re a real man. When you get out, I’ll buy you a drink.”

Just as they were chatting, Li Huowang paused slightly, his expression suddenly shocked as he stared at the woman before him.

Then he raised his head sharply, staring at the red dot of the surveillance camera. “Get my attending physician, Yi Dong, here! Now!”

Pointing at Ba Naxu, he shouted excitedly, “Yi Dong! Look! Did you see that?! She’s real! She’s actually here for a visit! How can she be fake? This isn’t hallucination at all!”

“Stop being crazy, sit down!”

Li Huowang sat back down, his face flushed with emotion as he stared at the woman. “Tell me, when I dealt with those people—when Qian Fu died—you were there, right? That was all real, wasn’t it?”

“You stay here today. I need you to explain everything clearly to my doctor. Tell him it’s all real!”

Ba Naxu glanced at the camera and pressed a button hidden in her pocket. “Now they can’t hear us. I don’t have time to deal with your madness. Let me ask you one thing: do you want to get out?”

Li Huowang understood what she meant, but he refused. “I want to get out, but not by your methods. I want to walk out through the front door, with honor.”

“If I’m truly real, then I’m not sick in that regard. My illness is only in the hallucinations. Once I treat the hallucinations, I’ll be discharged soon.”

Ba Naxu looked at Li Huowang like he was a lunatic. “Huozǐ, do you really believe that? Do you really think you can walk out after doing all those things?”

“Let me tell you the truth: no chance. You don’t even want to cause trouble for others, yet you’re afraid of causing trouble yourself. Even if you get better, you won’t be allowed to leave unless you pay. You’ll be under observation for life.”

“Compared to the mess you caused earlier, a few meals are nothing. They’d rather spend some money than risk another incident. Otherwise, their performance ratings would fall from top to bottom.”

“No! I don’t believe it! You’re lying! If I get better, why should they keep me locked up?”

Ba Naxu leaned back slightly, then leaned forward again. “Lying? Kid, did I ever lie to you?”

“I told you to watch out for Qing Wang, and now you’re locked up. Where is he? You didn’t say he lied to you, but now you accuse me of lying?”

After calming down a bit, Li Huowang finally asked Ba Naxu seriously about the source of this information.

“You don’t need to ask where I got this. You can figure it out yourself. This isn’t the first time. As the saying goes, ‘three times is enough.’ Think about whether they had a reason to do this. It’s human nature.”

“We can help you get out. But the price is that you cut ties with Qing Wang completely and come to our side. Yin.”

Hearing this, Li Huowang finally understood what Ba Naxu wanted. She was here to recruit him.

Though tempted, Li Huowang decided to test her further. “You always say Qing Wang is unreliable. Then how about Zhao Shuangdian? Is he reliable?”

“When the crisis hit Bai Yu Jing last time, where were you guys? Qing Wang wasn’t there, and neither were you. You’re no better than him.”

“I don’t understand what you’re talking about. I just want to tell you that since you weren’t with us, how could you know we did nothing? Are only things you personally witnessed real? Are events happening elsewhere on Earth not real?”

“No, I don’t accept it.” Li Huowang, skeptical of the information, rejected the offer.

“I’m sick. I’ve got schizophrenia. I need treatment. Since everything’s over, what’s the point of leaving? I won’t go out until I’m fully recovered.”

Ba Naxu dragged her tattooed cheek with her hand, and a tongue emerged from her mouth, flicking rapidly before retracting. “Your girlfriend isn’t worth it either? I heard she’s already been discharged and resting at home, her condition improving.”

Li Huowang clenched his fists and slowly shook his head, blinking. “Not worth it.”

“Damn, you’re a real scumbag.”

Ba Naxu stood up. “Fine, if you don’t agree, then forget it.”

“If nothing’s worth it anymore, then Yang Na being in Qing Wang’s hands now probably doesn’t matter either, does it?”

Li Huowang’s pupils shrank instantly. His forearm veins bulged. “What do you want?! Do you really think I can’t get out? I can save Bai Yu Jing—and I can destroy it too!”

“Don’t act crazy on me. It wasn’t me. Put that anger away. Wait until you get out to deal with Qing Wang.”

Ba Naxu left without saying when she’d strike or how he should cooperate.

But both Li Huowang and Ba Naxu knew—they had reached an unspoken agreement.
