Chapter 230: Mentor

Chapter 230 Mentor

"What is going on? What are you all doing here?"

A member of the Element Tower Disciplinary Committee walked over to question the crowd.

Someone saw the red Disciplinary Committee insignia pinned on his arm.

Immediately shouted loudly, "He insulted a noble!"

The Disciplinary Committee student glanced at the speaker, looked at Li Wei, frowned and said, "Why did you scold him?"

Li Wei said indifferently, "Is insulting people against the law?"

The Disciplinary Committee student's face froze.

He didn't expect Li Wei to be so disrespectful.

He looked at Li Wei and chuckled.

"Hehe, new arrival doesn't know the rules?"

"Then let me teach you the rules of being human."

He waved his hand, his expression darkening as he said, "Take him away. I suspect you are carrying contraband. Please come with me to the Disciplinary Committee for investigation."

"If you submit quietly, you can avoid some suffering."

Saying this, several men were about to grab Li Wei.

Seeing this, the surrounding crowd showed expressions of watching a show.

Many people felt angry about Li Wei's words just now.

Now seeing him about to be taken away by the Disciplinary Committee, many faces wore smiles of triumph.

Carl hurriedly said, "Wait a minute, isn't there some misunderstanding?"

The Disciplinary Committee member looked at him and asked, "Who are you?"

"Carl, also a newly arrived student."

The Disciplinary Committee member showed a look of disdain.

"Just assigned to the Blue Class."

The Disciplinary Committee member's face showed a smile, "Oh, so it's a new junior brother!"

"It's nothing, just a routine investigation. He won't suffer any harm, he will be released immediately after the investigation."

After hearing that Carl was assigned to the Blue Class, the Disciplinary Committee member's expression and attitude changed immediately.

He began to explain nicely to him.

But there was no intention of releasing anyone.

Only because Carl was a Blue Class student would he explain.

Otherwise, one sentence would suffice to take him away.

No explanation needed.

Releasing Li Wei was impossible; no matter who came, they wouldn't let him go.

Otherwise, where would the Disciplinary Committee's face be left?

If a freshman dared to be so arrogant and confront the Disciplinary Committee enforcer, who would respect the Disciplinary Committee in the future?

Li Wei must be punished!

To enforce strict discipline!

"Take him away."

Two Disciplinary Committee enforcers walked to Li Wei's side, preparing to grab and take him away.

Whoosh!

A gust of wind blew.

A figure descended from the sky.

An old man with messy hair and a white beard landed before Li Wei.

He looked at Li Wei and asked, "You are Li Wei?"

"Torresta's disciple?"

Li Wei was somewhat surprised, nodded and said, "Yes, I am Li Wei, Senior, who are you?"

The white-bearded old man smiled and said, "I am a friend of your master. He entrusted me to be your mentor during your studies at the Element Tower."

"My name is Zog Valen, just call me Mentor Valen."

"Hello, Mentor Valen."

Li Wei bowed in greeting.

Valen stretched out his hand and patted Li Wei's shoulder, looking somewhat comical.

Li Wei was much taller than him.

"Study hard, Torresta told me you are a good child."

Zog Valen scanned the surroundings, "Why are you all gathered here?"

The Disciplinary Committee student hurriedly said, "Greetings Great Mage, we happened to patrol here, saw people gathering, just happened to come over to check."

He didn't mention Li Wei in a single word.

Others seeing this, all showed looks of shock.

The few who were about to grab Li Wei just now were also deeply shocked in their hearts.

Generally, only after new students enter their class do they have the chance to select a mentor. Li Wei, well, hasn't even gone to the Red Class yet, and already has a mentor coming to find him first.

Who could have such treatment?

Only Purple Class students enjoy this treatment of being fought over by mentors upon enrollment.

Even Carl, who could enter the Blue Class, only had more choices when selecting a mentor.

Li Wei followed Zog Valen walking towards the Element Tower.

The Element Tower is built on a floating island, the entire floating island has not just one tower.

Large cities are established around the Element Tower.

Inside the city live the relatives and servants of Element Tower students and mentors.

There is also a portion who are descendants of Element Tower mages.

They did not leave the floating island, nor did they become mages, so they could only live in the city outside the Element Tower.

The relatives and servants of mages have descendants too.

So, there is a huge city on the floating island.

Zog Valen took Li Wei to his own manor.

His manor stood empty of people, the servants being naught but a handful of magical puppets.

The pair walked along, chatting as they went.

Zogvalen asked, "Which magic class were you assigned to?"

Levi replied, "The second year of the Crimson Class."

Zogvalen halted his steps, gazing at him with profound astonishment.

"How did you end up in the Crimson Class?"

Deep confusion stirred within him.

Though Toresta had not laid out all of Levi's information completely.

Yet, he spoke highly of Levi, holding an exceedingly high appraisal of him.

Naturally, Zogvalen placed trust in the judgment of his old friend Toresta.

Thus, hearing Levi was assigned to the lowest-ranked Crimson Class, he was utterly taken aback.

Levi spoke somewhat sheepishly, "My magic theory scores were far too poor, I only managed ten points, the total was merely sixty, sixth from the bottom, so I was placed in the Crimson Class."

"Magic theory was only ten points?" Zogvalen shook his head.

Suddenly, he froze in place.

"Wait, what did you say your total score was?" Zogvalen asked, eyes wide.

"Sixty points." Levi answered.

Zogvalen drew in a deep breath.

"Sss, so that implies your combat performance was perfect."

"Perfect scores in theory are seen now and then, but perfect scores in combat haven't occurred in over a decade."

"Those folks hold combat standards incredibly high; any single flaw can be seized upon by them to deduct points."

Theory is merely book knowledge; memorize it thoroughly and one can recite the answers.

For newly enrolled students, the Elemental Tower does not impose many demands.

Levi pondered for a moment, unsure if he possessed any flaws himself.

Presumably, there should be none.

If failing to attack the enemy first counts as a flaw, then he truly has no words to offer.

Primarily, the shock Levi delivered to the observing instructors was too immense.

To such an extent that everyone forgot to scrutinize his imperfections.

They focused more on why he could instantly slay the Rock Armored Turtle with a single Fireball spell.

Compared to the shock and delight Levi caused, whether or not he struck first was already insignificant.

Zogvalen said, "It seems Toresta did not teach you much elemental magic theory, after all, he is not proficient in that area either."

"If it were switched to a mental system magic theory exam, your results would certainly not be poor, do not lose heart."

Levi felt a wave of embarrassment wash over him.

Likely even worse.

Zogvalen said, "Do not worry, come to the Elemental Tower and study magic theory diligently."

"For a mage, knowledge is power; the higher the rank, the more one realizes the truth of this saying."

"Therefore, you must build a solid foundation."

"We have arrived, this is my manor, I usually live here alone, you may reside here as well."

"After all, Crimson Class students are not allocated housing; if you go out, you must find lodging yourself."

"Thank you, Instructor Valen." Levi said.
