Chapter 21: Successful Admission
Chapter 21 Admission Successful
The dawn broke with a faint glimmer, and the orange-red morning light pierced through the dense gaps of the buildings in the Red Leaf community, casting pale golden flecks of light into Wang Ming's small living room.
Qin Feng was already fully dressed in a sharp tracksuit that made his stature appear even more erect.
At the dining table, Qin Dahai was setting out the last portion of the energy breakfast.
He looked at Qin Feng, his voice steady as always.
"Today, you should make a trip to the Limit Martial Arts Center."
Qin Feng raised his head and looked at his father.
"Go see Master Sun Chantang."
Qin Dahai continued, "He is your benefactor. Without him, you wouldn't be where you are today. This kindness must be acknowledged by paying a visit in person to express your gratitude."
"Dad, should we buy something to bring?" Qin Feng asked.
Qin Dahai shook his head.
"No need." His reply was brief and concise. "A powerhouse like Master Sun doesn't care for such mundane formalities. Your presence and your sincerity are enough."
"I understand." Qin Feng nodded.
After breakfast, Qin Feng left his uncle's house alone and took the maglev bus, heading once more toward the Limit Martial Arts Center located in the No. 3 Industrial Zone.
After many days away, the inside of the martial arts center was still a scene of bustling activity.
Shouts, the clashing of equipment, and the muffled thuds of fists hitting targets interwoven together, filled with a vigorous vitality.
Qin Feng walked up to the front desk, where the receptionist was still that same young staff member.
"Hello, I'm looking for Master Sun Chantang."
Qin Feng spoke.
The staff member raised his head, and upon seeing it was Qin Feng, a polite smile appeared on his face.
"Ah, Student Qin Feng! Congratulations! I heard your score ranks in the top seventy thousand, which guarantees you a spot in the Seven Great Martial High Schools. You've really brought glory to our martial arts center."
He paused. "But it's quite unfortunate, Master Sun has already left Planet Qi Ming."
"Left?" Qin Feng was taken aback.
"Yes."
The staff member nodded in confirmation. "About more than half a month ago, right around the time the high school entrance exam just ended, the Master left. No one knows what he went to do. He might come back, or he might never return. For a powerhouse who has already stepped into the sea of stars, this sort of thing is commonplace."
Qin Feng stood in place, silent for a moment.
"Alright, I understand. Thank you."
He did not linger any further, turning around to leave the Limit Martial Arts Center.
This visit to express his gratitude had ended without fruition.
...
Three days passed quietly in tranquil anticipation.
On the morning of the third day, while Qin Feng was undergoing basic physical training at home, the hyperspace network terminal on his wrist suddenly emitted a crisp and melodious notification tone.
That sound carried an official, solemn sense of ritual.
In the living room, Qin Dahai, who was watching the news, shuddered violently. He instantly turned his head, his gaze sharp as lightning, staring fixedly at Qin Feng's wrist.
Qin Feng stopped his movements, took a deep breath, raised his hand, and lit up the terminal.
A virtual envelope authenticated jointly by the Imperial Double-Headed Eagle emblem and the school badge of Qi Ming No. 1 Martial Arts High School, radiating a golden halo, hovered quietly in the center of the light screen.
It was the admission notice.
Qin Feng extended his finger and tapped gently on the envelope.
The envelope unfolded soundlessly, turning into an official document filled with a sense of technology and majesty.
The document was divided into two parts.
The first part was the admission notice.
At the very top were several sweeping, gold-embossed characters reading "Qi Ming No. 1 Martial Arts Senior High School," the handwriting exuding an aura of iron, blood, and glory.
[Admission Notice]
[Student Qin Feng (Citizen ID: EC7351-G34-998109):]

[Principal: He Lan]
The second part consisted of the enrollment instructions and regulations.

...
Each rule was clear and cold, and between the lines hung an undeniable majesty and an ultimate reverence for strength.
"Dad, the notice has arrived."
Qin Feng turned off the light screen and looked toward his father in the living room.
Qin Dahai walked over, not looking at the specific details of the notice, but merely asking calmly, "When do you leave?"
"Report within seven days."
"Good." Qin Dahai nodded, not saying another word.
Between the father and son, both understood that a long separation was imminent.
...
That evening, the Qin family and the Wang family gathered once again in the small living room of Wang Ming's house.
This was both a celebration and a farewell banquet.
The atmosphere at the dining table was more enthusiastic than any previous occasion, yet it also held a trace of the sorrow of parting.
Aunt Li Juan kept scooping food into Qin Feng's bowl, piling it up like a small mountain.
"Xiao Feng, eat more. Once you go to school, it's military-style management, so it will certainly be very hard. You must take good care of yourself."
"Got it, Aunt."
Wang Ming raised his glass, his face flushed red from drinking.
"Xiao Hao, Xiao Jie, Xiao Mei!"
He called out loudly to his three children, "All of you, watch closely! Your Brother Feng is about to go to the best school on the entire Qiming Star! From now on, you must follow his example, study hard, you hear me?"
"We hear you!"
The three children answered in unison, their eyes shining as they looked at Qin Feng.
In the midst of this warm and lively atmosphere, Qin Dahai and Wang Ming's personal terminals let out a faint vibration almost simultaneously.
Both instinctively raised their wrists to glance at them.
A flicker of barely perceptible surprise crossed Qin Dahai's face.
He lifted his head and looked at Wang Ming.
Wang Ming also raised his head at that moment, his expression one of utter astonishment and disbelief.
"Brother, I..." Wang Ming's voice stammered.
"I received it too," Qin Dahai said calmly.
He projected his own light screen.
[Personnel Transfer Notice]
[Employee Qin Dahai, due to outstanding work performance and solid professional skills, upon review by the Factory Committee, is hereby transferred to the Logistics Management Department, effective immediately, to serve as the Head of Group Three.]
[Monthly salary adjusted to: 35,000 Imperial Credits.]
[Effective immediately.]
[Sender: Qiming Star Third Alien Corpse Processing Plant]
"Head... 35,000 a month?" Wang Ming's eyes widened.
His elder brother had excellent skills, but to leap from a dangerous giant beast dismantler straight to a cushy, high-paying management position—this promotion speed was simply unbelievable.
Then he projected his own notice.
[Job Transfer and Training Notice]
[Employee Wang Ming, after evaluation by the Technical Department, it is determined that you possess extremely high potential in the field of power armor maintenance. You are hereby transferred to the [Power Armor Design Department] to serve as a Junior Design Assistant.]
[Upon transfer, you will receive a fully company-funded on-the-job training opportunity in "Advanced Power Armor Structural Mechanics."]
[Monthly salary adjusted to: 22,000 Imperial Credits.]
[Effective immediately.]
[Sender: Qiming Star Thirteenth Power Armor Repair Plant]
The living room fell silent instantly.
Li Juan stared at the notice on her husband's light screen, covering her mouth, her eyes reddening in an instant.
From a low-level repairman who could get hurt at any moment, to a design assistant sitting in an office, with a doubled salary and paid training—this was something she wouldn't even dare to dream of.
Qin Dahai and Wang Ming exchanged glances, both seeing the same answer in each other's eyes.
It was all because of Qin Feng.
Because of that admission letter from "Qiming First Martial Arts High School."
When one person attains enlightenment, even their chickens and dogs ascend to heaven.
Though he hadn't truly "attained enlightenment" yet, this influence was already radiating out to those closest to him.
"Dad."
Qin Feng put down his chopsticks and looked at his father with utmost seriousness. "From now on, you don't need to give me money anymore. The school provides resource subsidies."
He looked at his father's empty left sleeve and his face, worn and haggard from years of hard labor.
"You should get your injury treated. Use the best medicine, find the best doctor. Don't skimp on money."
Qin Dahai looked at his son, and a gentle, shimmering light appeared in his usually calm eyes.
He smiled.
This time, Qin Dahai did not refuse.
"Alright."
"When I can earn money in the future, I'll earn a lot."
Qin Feng added another sentence, "So you must take good care of your health."
He then turned to look at his uncle Wang Ming and his younger cousins, who were staring at him with eager eyes, and a rare, youthful smile appeared on his face.
"Xiao Hao, Xiao Jie, Xiao Mei, study hard from now on. Your tuition fees—I'll cover them."
Qin Feng laughed heartily.
His aunt's eyes immediately reddened.
