Chapter 23: 23 Elrond Phao

Chapter 23: Elron Faou

"You look upset, sister?"

Just returned to the carriage compartment, Marina was asked by her younger brother. She puffed her cheeks indignantly and said, "Roning is not gentlemanly at all—he actually refused to let me rest in his tent!"

Young Malik glanced around. Although the carriage compartment was less spacious than a tent, it was still roomy enough for the siblings to lie down and rest.

Soon, however, as heir of the Green family, Malik understood his sister's meaning and chuckled.

"Sister, Roning was stripped of his inheritance rights just two days ago due to Selena's death. How dare you even think about entering his tent? Perhaps you've read too many knightly novels about heroes saving beauties—do you want to sleep with him?"

"Hmph!"

Marina snorted unhappily. "Can I not?"

Malik warned her, "Sister, you forget you are betrothed to Jamie of the Viscount Dennis family. It's fine to flirt with classmates at the academy ordinarily, but don't climb into Roning's bed, or there could be trouble ahead!"

"I know, stop lecturing me!"

Marina rolled her eyes. "Jamie, that fatso—seeing his dead fish eyes makes me sick!"

Malik also rolled his eyes. Who was calling someone a fatso?

He lifted the window to gaze at the night outside. "I'm truly grateful Baron Roning saved us this time."

"Still, I heard from classmates that after being stripped of inheritance rights, he changed his surname and was exiled to remote Mountain Forest Town. His days ahead will likely be hard."

Meanwhile, lying on the rug inside his tent, Roning grimaced while enjoying Chahar's massage.

For hours past, he had practiced swordplay, and now his muscles were sore and stiff.

It wasn't that he suddenly became diligent; he simply wanted to avoid Marina's advances through sword practice, yet the girl stubbornly watched him for over three hours without leaving!

Finally, Roning truly couldn't practice anymore. Hoping to slip into the tent unnoticed, he found Marina followed him anyway, claiming she wished to sit inside together.

Seeing Marina's determined, "sit-and-stay" demeanor, how could Roning dare let her enter?

He had no interest in her, and moreover, he had matters to attend that night...

Ultimately, Roning had to refuse outright, which led her to accuse him of lacking gentlemanly conduct.

"Alright, Chahar, you may rest now too."

Roning felt much of his soreness relieved and told Chahar to stop. "Your technique is good—I feel much better."

Chahar respectfully stood up. "Then rest well, master. I'll be resting outside; call me if anything arises."

After the manservant left, Roning sat up, rotating his arms several times.

"Girls in this world are too direct!"

He shook his head, summoning the system interface.

Today, he didn't need to wait until midnight—it was already past.

"It's the seventh day; sign-in doesn't auto-add attribute points but awards a 'Heartwarming Gift Box.'"

Rining eagerly wondered what this Heartwarming Gift Box contained and opened it directly.

[Attribute Points +20, Energy Essence +20]

Indeed... warming, but not much.

Similar to the reward type he drafted in his proposal earlier.

He glanced at his current attribute panel:

[Level]: 1-Junior Knight (100/100); 1-Junior Mage (25/150)+

[Attribute Points]: 50

[Energy Essence]: 220

This series of gains was so plentiful that Energy Essence accumulated to 220.

Roning added 50 attribute points to his Junior Mage progress, instantly sensing his mana space expanding again!

After consuming mana earlier to learn Wind Gust and this new expansion, Roning estimated he'd need considerable time to refine mana anew.

"Progress increased to 75/150. Just 75 more attribute points needed to dual-breakthrough to Intermediate level."

Ordinary people advancing from Junior to Intermediate, even slightly faster ones, require two to three years.

Roning's breakthrough speed—even top-tier geniuses would feel ashamed comparing.

After handling attribute points, Roning finally focused on the seven-day login interface.

Today, the seventh day, he finally could receive a Light Attribute Mage with qualifications of a seventh-level Grand Mage.

As his intent moved to claim the seventh-day reward, the seven-day login interface turned into light particles, vanishing from sight.

From now on, only four interfaces remained: Monthly Sign-In, Attribute Panel, Achievement Master, First Purchase Exclusive Gift.

Roning estimated after completing first purchase, only the first three interfaces would remain.

As his attention faded on the vanishing interface, a magic circle appeared before him akin to summoning Macken that day.

White light dazzling and brilliant—had black tent not shielded it, surely outsiders would gather to watch.

"This summoning magic circle is so intricate, more complex than contract scroll patterns!"

Roning exclaimed. From his newfound knowledge of Wind Gust spell patterns, he wholly failed to comprehend.

Wind Gust spell patterns had only five nodes, straight lines connecting them.

But this magic circle differed—nodes numerous; if Roning had to depict it, he wouldn't know where to start or end.

Moreover, paths between summoning circle nodes weren't straight lines: varying curves, angled broken lines—exceedingly complex.

Observing intently, Roning felt dizzy, extreme throbbing pain rushing to his temples.

How describe this feeling? Like an ordinary middle schooler deeply understanding and deriving Fourier transform formula—head aching.

Fortunately, an appearing figure diverted Roning's attention—a slim man in sky-blue robe emerged on the magic circle.

He had ash-white shoulder-length hair; ignoring face, Roning would mistake him for an elder.

Actually, he was youthful. Unlike Macken's robust, sturdy build, this Mage appeared somewhat delicate.

He bowed left hand on chest toward Roning. "Elron Faou greets master. May light be with you!"

Tone gentle, voice relaxing to hear.

"Delighted meeting you, Mage Elron!"

Roning happily greeted this Mage subordinate, briefly inquiring his condition.

Simply put, concerning past experiences, language, writing—Elron resembled Macken.

Difference: Elron understood magic principles, crafting spell scrolls to some extent.

Of course, not deeply—similar level to Pedro.

Through Elron, Roning confirmed one thing: purple crystal obtained from Pedro indeed was magic crystal.

Thus, for his First Purchase Exclusive Gift, only five more magic crystals needed.

Next, Roning asked how many spells he currently mastered.

"My lord, I currently possess two spells: the Flash Spell and the Vigor Spell."

Roning waited eagerly, "Quick, demonstrate them for me!"

Elron did not refuse. First, he extended a finger, and Roning sensed energy gathering at his fingertip.

He guessed that Elron must be tracing the spell patterns.

"My lord, this is the Flash Spell."

As Elron spoke, a faint glow ignited at his fingertips.

The light was small, akin to a desk lamp used during school days, but it illuminated the tent brightly, far brighter than a candle.

Roning raised his brows slightly, "Apart from illuminating the surroundings, this spell seems to have little practical use?"

Elron nodded, "Indeed, but if my mana becomes sufficient later, I can enhance its brightness to disturb enemies."

Roning nodded slightly; the disturbance mentioned likely resembled flash grenades.

Elron ceased demonstrating the Flash Spell and proceeded to the second magic.

This time, he aimed his palm at Roning, and under the spellcasting, a faint light enveloped Roning.

In that instant, Roning felt his entire body relax, with all previous soreness vanishing completely.

His eyes brightened, praising, "This spell has a remarkable effect!"

Elron continued, "When my mana is abundant, I can apply this spell to multiple individuals. It is said that powerful magicians can inspire entire armies with this spell!"

"Excellent!"

Roning was quite pleased with this auxiliary spell, but he wondered, "Do light attribute magicians lack healing skills?"

In his impression, the light attribute often linked with entities like the Church of Light and tasks of saving lives.

Upon hearing this, Elron shook his head, "Apologies, my lord, I haven't mastered such spells yet. Perhaps later, as my strength improves, I might encounter them."

Roning immediately recalled how Macken automatically gained two combat techniques upon advancing to intermediate knight. Perhaps magicians also gained abilities upon leveling up.

"Wait a moment."

He focused his attention on the magician before him, and soon, Elron's attribute panel appeared.

【Elron·Faro】:Primary Magician·Light (0/150)+

Roning had accumulated 220 points of energy essence, enough to elevate Elron to intermediate magician.
