Chapter 441: Charging into the Enemy Swarm

The black magic flying carpet hovered in mid-air. Since Carlos's form was currently large and couldn't be reduced, to avoid exposing their tracks, Lonin had to ride on Sophia's carpet. Below them was the town of Tals, the closest to Shore City in Moonlight Valley. As the connecting point between Moonlight Valley and the Black Mountain Territory, many merchants rested here, which allowed the town to develop quite prosperously, evident from the number of houses in the town center. Both Lonin and Sophia possessed wind attributes and were both master magicians; their mental power and the range of their probing wind were extremely vast, enabling them to sense the situation below even at an altitude of five or six hundred meters. The town was shrouded in dark energy. Though there were still normal humans below, nearly eighty percent had already transformed into the Soul Tribe. "As I predicted, Moonlight Valley has fallen, and there seem to be two fairly powerful individuals below," Lonin said with a grave expression. "It appears Hesius or Mephistopheles has begun setting up defenses, or even waiting for an opportunity to launch an attack proactively." Sophia nodded gently. "The Shadow Lord can use Soul Orbs to inject soul power into specified individuals, elevating their strength by one rank. Those two below should have evolved from Golden Knights." Previously, Ossen absorbed at least fifty thousand soul powers to rise from Meteor to Silver Moon. Though these two were weaker, forced enhancement still required fifteen thousand soul powers. That meant these two had consumed the lives of thirty thousand people. Anger surged in Lonin's heart: "So that's why they kept those women and young girls—they're using them as tools to produce more humans!" "The Shadow Lord has always done this," Sophia said, familiar with such phenomena and thus unsurprised. "Humans are like nutrients to them. They need humans to expand their ranks, while also preserving a certain number to sustain reproduction, continuously providing them with nourishment." Lonin inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly. He took a black cloth from his spatial ring and tied it over his face, concealing his figure. "What are you planning?" Sophia asked in surprise. "Though the number of enemies below is considerable, my strength is enough to kill these two. But I must cover my appearance because Hesius is still protected by the royal family." As he spoke, he activated Wind Wings, and a pair of hazy wings emerged behind him. Sophia cautioned, "If surrounded by the Soul Tribe, their combined Soul Power release can infect the elemental forces of the world, affecting how magicians manipulate elemental powers." Lonin smiled. "Battle techniques don't require elemental forces of the world." Sophia paused momentarily—yes, he was not only a master magician but also a Silver Moon Knight. "Then use this." Sophia tossed over a glass bottle. "Apply it on your face." Lonin was somewhat surprised but still poured the liquid onto his hand and smeared it on his face. He felt a burning sensation on his skin. Sophia handed him a mirror; Lonin's appearance had changed. His handsome face was gone, replaced by a rough, dark-skinned man. Lonin looked left and right, smiling. "This is good!" "Disguise water—a simple camouflage potion, lasting only an hour." An hour? Lonin looked toward the houses in the town center; the two powerful Soul Tribe members were inside. Whoosh! The Wind Wings trembled slightly, and Lonin shot downward like a cannonball. It's often said that what people lack, they tend to do things to prove they don't lack it. The Soul Tribe is the same. Unable to reproduce offspring, to mask this weakness, they are excessively fond of the reproductive process, leading the entire Soul Tribe to be inclined toward lust. Those in the eerie valley of the North Black Mountain Territory, like Natalia, were like this, and here too. Inside the house, two Meteor Knights were freely humiliating human women, venting their desires. Suddenly, they abruptly stopped their actions. "Attack!" The two quickly moved aside, grabbing the knight swords discarded nearby and picking up shields. Boom! Lonin landed in the courtyard; his immense aura directly flung the guarding Soul Knights aside. He waved his hand, releasing a Flame Slash; the scorching battle qi instantly turned several into ashes. If Lonin hadn't sensed innocent people inside, he would have used magic to shatter the house upon descending. "Enemy attack!" "Enemy attack!" Survivors shouted loudly; surrounding Soul Knights surged toward them like mad dogs. Meanwhile, the two from the house emerged. Lonin was momentarily stunned, then sneered—he hadn't expected to encounter two familiar faces here. These two Meteor-level Soul Knights were none other than Hesius's Second Knight Regiment leader, Idrisa, and Fourth Knight Regiment leader, Trip, whom Lonin had encountered earlier in Shore City. Earlier, Lonin had killed Hesius's First and Third Knight Regiment leaders, Ramsay and Angus; now he met these two. This time, Lonin aimed to exterminate all of their regiment leaders. "Kill!" Lonin stepped forward, Wind Instant Step activated, appearing before the two, and swung his sword at them. Idrisa and Angus evidently retained combat experience; they were not rigid. With crossed swords, they joined forces to block Lonin's attack. But Meteor Knights forcibly enhanced were no match for Lonin, at Silver Moon peak; the immense force pushed them back continuously. Lonin seized the moment, swirling his sword to break their joint defense, then turned and struck at Idrisa. "No!" Idrisa screamed in terror but was already slashed by the Flaming Sword, opening a long wound. Though no blood flowed, the scorching battle qi was eroding his body. If this strike had been deeper, it might have turned him to ashes. "Earthflow!" Trip thrust his sword into the ground; the earth trembled, seemingly coming alive. Under Lonin's feet, soil turned to quicksand, unable to support him, causing him to sink downward. "Truly foolish—didn't you see I have wings?" The Wind Wings effect hadn't dissipated; Lonin leaped toward Trip. The latter tried to pull his sword from the ground, but Lonin's Flaming Sword had already pierced his heart. As the battle qi on the sword erupted, Trip's body cracked inch by inch; he roared skyward and exploded violently. "One dealt with!" Lonin turned, looking at Idrisa fleeing hastily outward. "You are the second." "Quick, block him!" "Attack together!"

Idrisa roared wildly, Mephisto granted him command, enabling him to order the spectral knights here and numerous expendable soldiers.

This place was heavily guarded, and now Ronin was surrounded by a group of spectral knights.

They charged forward like mad dogs, disregarding life and death. If shouts could kill, Ronin would already have been torn apart.

He sensed it—the spectral power shrouded the sky, indeed affecting the elemental forces around the world.

However, this didn’t mean he was directly silenced and unable to use magic; it just increased the difficulty of casting spells and lengthened the time required for magic to form.

"The Silver Moon Knight is said to be a match for thousands..."

Ronin tightened his grip on the Flowing Flame Sword.

He had never particularly liked charging alone, mainly because he considered too much and disliked taking risks (being rather cautious of his life).

But now his strength had risen, and he wanted to experience the thrill of facing ten thousand alone.

Ronin used his battle aura to condense into a flame armor, lifted the Flowing Flame Sword, and charged toward the incoming spectral knights.

"Come on, let me see my limit!" (End of chapter)
