Chapter 456: Operation on Screaming Island

North Harbor.

With the continuous input of manpower, the harbor now has a rough outline.

According to the estimate of the responsible person, Eamon, if given another year or so, the project would be mostly completed and could be put into use ahead of schedule.

The makeshift dock has been extended, and the Dawn from Crescent Continent docks here. This ship has now become Simon's workplace.

Over these days, the foundry master has adapted to life in the harbor. Apart from repairing ships and overseeing the construction of new vessels, his remaining time is spent either practicing his craft or enjoying barbecues and drinking the distinctive distilled spirits of Mountain Town with Regg and others who recently stationed here.

This spicy flavor is something many cannot adapt to, but he finds it delightful, especially when taking a sip during forging, which gives him strength all over his body.

At noon that day, Regg brought barbecue and fine wine aboard the Dawn.

He knew that the dark-skinned uncle on the ship was an honored guest of the North Territory and also a formidable warrior.

Whether entertaining an honored guest or out of personal desire to get close to a strong individual for guidance, Regg’s actions were perfectly reasonable.

“Regg is here!”

Simon rubbed his hands together, put down the polished parts he had been working on, and asked, “Did you bring the wine?”

Regg lifted the white porcelain bottle he carried: “Haha, I might forget other things, but I never forget this!”

Simon hurried over to take it: “Too little! Better bring me a whole barrel!”

“I asked the distiller; this type of wine has just been developed by the lord, and mass production will likely take some time.”

They set up a small table on the deck and began eating and drinking.

Soon after, a knight patrolling along the shore quickly boarded the ship: “Captain, there are ships approaching on the sea!”

Regg immediately threw aside the meat he was holding and stood up.

Their team stationed here precisely to prevent enemy sneak attacks.

However, over these days, the sea had been calm, and it seemed no enemies were targeting the place.

He took out a telescope, immediately recognizing the flag on the approaching ship, and his heart shook: “Pirates, the Ghost Tide Pirate Gang!”

After the shock came delight.

Having enemies is good; enemies mean opportunities for battle achievements.

Missing out on the chance to participate in the campaign against Moonlight Valley had left him feeling restless.

“Go! All of you, heed the command and assemble to prepare for the enemy!”

“Let me see?”

Simon walked over and took the telescope Regg handed him. “Indeed, it’s the pirate flag mentioned by Rees, but why only one ship?”

Regg frowned. He had been too excited to notice that only one ship was approaching.

“With just one ship attempting to attack North Territory, they must be underestimating us!”

Soon, the ship arrived about a hundred meters from the harbor.

However, it did not continue forward but stopped right there.

Regg on shore had already prepared his troops, but faced with this situation, it became awkward.

Since Rees had taken the trained naval forces to Riptide Island, they lacked usable ships here. If the pirates didn’t land, they really had no way to confront them.

For a long while, the pirate ship remained inactive.

Regg wondered: “Could it just be passing by, not intending to attack us?”

But soon, flames appeared on the ship.

With a roar, a fiery serpent, over twenty to thirty meters long, shot out from the pirate ship, carrying flames and immense force, crashing toward the harbor facilities made of ironwood!

Regg’s eyes widened sharply. “Magic cannons! They’re specifically attacking the harbor!”

At that moment, he realized their purpose.

He leaped forward, hoping to intercept the fiery serpent before it reached its target, but clearly, magic moved faster.

Just as the fiery serpent was about to destroy the harbor structures, Simon appeared in front of it, shattering it with a single punch.

“Ronny’s prediction was spot-on; I never imagined you’d actually target the harbor.”

He stepped forward, flying across the sky, arriving before the pirates who were preparing for a second shot but were terrified by the scene.

Simon kicked the gunner aside, confiscated the magic cannon, then drew the opponent’s sword and placed it against their neck.

“If you don’ want to die, dock the ship at the harbor now.”

The pirates had planned to shoot once and flee, so the strongest on board was the Silver Knight gunner. Before Simon, a Silver Moon Knight, they were like helpless chicks.

The crisis at North Harbor was thus calmly resolved.

At the same time, Riptide Island was equally unsettled.

On the vast sea, five warships sailed together, heading directly toward Riptide Island.

Standing at the bow of the central warship was a tall knight, Patridge, the Crescent Island Baron loyal to the Fleming family.

As a Meteor Knight, he did not take this mission seriously at all. In his view, conquering Riptide Island would be as effortless as a leisure trip.

Dispatching five warships seemed somewhat wasteful.

“Lord Baron, that mountain ahead is Riptide Island,” the captain pointed toward the land rising from the sea ahead.

Patridge, hands on the railing, brimmed with confidence: “Order all ships to prepare landing tools and battle readiness!”

Suddenly, a fierce gust swept through, and the clear sky abruptly darkened, as if the sun were obscured by clouds.

Patridge instinctively glanced upward, and just that one look plunged him into a state of astonishment.

“By the Seven Gods, what, what kind of monstrosity is this!”

The immense shadow in the sky was as long as a warship, with wings spanning nearly seventy to eighty meters, truly blocking out the sun!

Patridge was a man who had seen much, but facing the approaching Kaloros, he admitted feeling terrified.

“Is it a passing magical beast?”

Patridge prayed inwardly, “But outsiders say Ronny seems to have a dragon…”

In the sky, Kaloros glided onward.

On its back, Kalada sat trembling, holding a telescope to observe the five warships below.

“Mr. Dragon, I recognize the person standing at the bow of the central ship; it’s Meteor Knight Patridge, a vassal of Screaming Island, likely the commander of this pirate fleet.”

After speaking, before him, flames formed a string of words: “I know!”

This was Kaloros’s method of communicating with outsiders.

Kaloros abruptly changed direction in the sky, causing turbulent airflow. Kalada, if not restrained by the dragon, might have fallen off.

“It’s coming!”

Patridge’s eyes widened: “Indeed, it’s targeting us!”

He roared madly: “Everyone! Aim the magic cannons at the monster in the sky! Fire!”

Faced with such a massive monster, everyone was utterly terrified, yet Patridge’s voice instinctively drove them into action.

Suddenly, from five warships combined, ten magical cannons fired like fireworks toward Karlos, creating a deafening roar.

This scene chilled Karada’s spine—without the dragon, Riptide Isle would have been utterly pulverized by the magical cannons.

Under such bombardment, Karlos snorted white steam from its nostrils, expressing its fury.

Then, it opened its colossal mouth, unleashing a torrent of magma-like flames, controlled by Karlos to intercept the magical cannon attacks.

It spun in the air and spat out a five- or six-meter-long ice arrow, crashing down upon the central vessel.

Before the dragon’s agility, Patridge’s attempts to steer the ship were futile; they were like targets placed upon the sea.

The enormous ice arrow expanded, expanded, and expanded again in his pupils, finally exploding on the deck, instantly causing the sturdy warship to splinter apart.

Patridge leaped, aiming to jump onto another vessel.

But he only felt a hurricane sweep past, then his body tightened, and when he could see clearly again, he found himself grasped in the dragon’s sharp claws.

If Karlos wished, a mere squeeze would burst him apart.

This was sheer dimensional suppression.

Meanwhile, on Riptide Isle, Reese and Lussen led warships departing from the harbor.

Each such warship was worth five or six thousand gold coins—too precious to be burned entirely.

Thus, after dealing with the troublesome creatures, they planned to board and fight, claiming as many of these warships as possible for themselves.
