Chapter 512: After the Concert

Chapter 512 After the Concert

"Finally over, oh my god! Phew, what a feeling to be drenched in sweat in the dead of winter!"

"Hahaha, anyone would think we'd been pumping iron for three hours at the gym!"

"No kidding, it's no different from leaving the gym—exhausting but exhilarating, and damn addictive!"

"I'm soaked through, holy crap!"

"Wait a bit before heading out; the wind's strong tonight, careful not to catch a cold! Here, tissues, wipe yourself down first."

"No worries, I've got my long johns on—Ah-choo!"

The Hangzhou Olympic Center's comprehensive gymnasium was an indoor venue, and with the electric atmosphere inside, many people were drenched in sweat. But Hangzhou's weather was cold, the night chilly and windy, and as they emerged still buzzing about the concert that had brought them endless surprises and joy, the sudden blast of cold wind hit their sweaty skin. That night, quite a few fans ended up with colds.

Complaining about runny noses in group chats, a legend spread online: "There's a flu called Meng Fan."

Meanwhile, online, as soon as the concert ended, Station 8 had the entire live video edited and uploaded to the platform. By midnight, it was available for viewing in full, free of charge—VIP only skipped the ads. Moreover, the full concert video could be watched not only on Station 8 but also on Tencent Video.

Those who missed the live stream or couldn't watch the whole thing naturally clicked on the video to enjoy it, or picked certain segments or songs to watch or listen to. Many who had already seen the live stream came back for a second viewing, so even right after the stream ended, the video views were skyrocketing.

On portals like Weibo, there were also many clips from the concert. Besides live song performances, segments like Yu Longxue's proposal spread widely.

As for trending topics, needless to say, from before the concert started to 24 hours after it ended, at least five or more hot topics were related to it.

Meng Fan's divine singing skills and the super hype live atmosphere went without saying, but the hottest topic of all was undoubtedly #WhenWillMengFanHoldHisSecondConcert#—too many people were waiting for it.

That was probably the greatest compliment for someone who had just finished a concert.

"Ding! Successfully held a solo concert with 10,000 attendees, completing [Singer] Sub-task 3. Reward: Singing Skill +1, Points +1000."

"Ding! Successfully met the requirements of all three sub-tasks under [Singer], completing the achievement task [Singer]. Achievement title [Singer] obtained (Singing Skill +10, Voice Appeal +3)."

"Ding! Achievement task [King of Singers] triggered."

"Task requirements: Complete the following three sub-tasks. Upon completion, obtain achievement title [King of Singers] (Singing Skill +10, Music Composition Ability +5)."

As Meng Fan announced the end of the concert, a series of prompts rang in his mind. First, he completed the [Singer] task, and then the advanced task appeared.

This advanced task, like the previous one, was divided into three sub-tasks. Completing them all would grant the title and its attribute bonuses. The rewards no longer included Voice Appeal but introduced Music Composition Ability, which clearly referred to songwriting.

Sub-task 1: Hold a round of solo tours (at least three cities, five shows). Reward: Singing Skill +1, Music Composition Ability +1, Points +100.

Sub-task 2: Release multiple hit albums (at least two with million sales). Reward: Singing Skill +1, Music Composition Ability +1, Points +500.

Sub-task 3: Win a major music award (at least top-tier in Chinese music). Reward: Singing Skill +1, Music Composition Ability +1, Points +1000.

After reading, Meng Fan muttered to himself: "Judging by these sub-task descriptions, there's probably another advanced task after this, likely [God of Singers]. King of Singers means reaching the top domestic level, while God of Singers probably means breaking out of China to Asia or even the world."

Although Meng Fan had thoroughly enjoyed this concert himself, he hadn't really thought about continuing down this musical path—at least not now, and he didn't have the time. So this task definitely wouldn't make it into his near-term plans.

Mainly, the attribute rewards didn't interest him that much. He had some interest in songwriting, but not a huge amount. Only when he was involved in animation post-production did he think it might be nice to write a song related to anime—just that. As for singing skills, they were good enough.

"What's it feel like?"

Shi Shiwu and the others walked onto the stage, intending to celebrate the concert's success with Meng Fan. Seeing him standing there, lost in thought, Shi Shiwu asked with a smile: "Is there a sense of lingering satisfaction? The stage is quite enjoyable, isn't it?"

Meng Fan snapped out of it and replied honestly with a grin: "Yeah, it's pretty awesome."

Shi Shiwu almost blurted out, "Thinking of holding more shows?" But remembering that if Meng Fan did, he might have to "work" for him again, he quickly shut his mouth. Being in charge of Meng Fan's concerts was exhausting—the champion was the real boss who did nothing.

Shi Shiwu didn't ask, but Jin Xiaowen did. Hearing Jin Xiaowen's question, Shi Shiwu covered his forehead in exasperation, but he was ready to sacrifice himself again if Meng Fan decided to continue.

"Not planning to for now."

Meng Fan shook his head, which made Shi Shiwu sigh in relief but also feel a bit regretful. He had been fully involved in the concert and watched it too. In terms of live atmosphere and brilliance, Meng Fan's show was definitely among the top in the Chinese music scene, and he personally enjoyed it immensely. To just stop like that felt truly wasteful.

"Probably won't have time next. It's almost New Year, then the Animation Festival after that, and then sports competitions right after. I can't be in two places at once."

Meng Fan enjoyed the concert and did have thoughts of holding another, but it was just a thought—time wouldn't allow it.

"Meng Meng Pang, thank you!"

Yu Longxue and his bride didn't leave immediately. Instead, they walked to the edge of the stage and bowed deeply to Meng Fan, thanking him not only for helping with the proposal but also for his earlier assistance in treating Yu Longxue's girlfriend.

Meng Fan smiled: "You two have said it countless times in the group chat. If you really want to thank me, just remember to invite me when you have your wedding banquet. Oh, by the way, we're about to go eat hotpot. Want to join?"

Yu Longxue and his bride were tempted but shook their heads: "Uh, we'd better not."

They worried about intruding on Meng Fan's group, since those eating hotpot together would surely be the "heroes" of the concert.

Seeing this, Meng Fan didn't insist. He then left the stage and went backstage to wait for the concert team to wrap up the loose ends. After that, a large group, including the concert guests, Wu Tong, and Meng Caiwei, swarmed over to a nearby hotpot restaurant.

With no competitions scheduled, Meng Fan, having let loose, made hotpot the standard fare.
