Chapter 430: Hyping Oneself Up First While No One is in the Store

"Honestly, you managed to turn a fantasy game into a horror movie. What are you going to do when you actually play a real horror game?" Boss Fang put on the virtual headset with an expression of disdain and logged into the game.

The game had not truly begun yet; it was merely the opening cinematic.

Yet, even as mere bystanders, the spectacle was enough to leave them dumbfounded. From the War of the New Immortal Realm to the moment Chong Lou destroyed the Demon-Locking Tower and retrieved the Demon Sword, each scene was more breathtaking than the last. Although they were only watching from the outside now, they had truly stepped into that world just moments ago!

"Guild Master... what... what on earth is this?!"

"This is the primary service offered by our establishment," Boss Fang explained as he commenced the game, while simultaneously giving them a brief overview of what the game entailed.

"As employees of this shop, even if you do not play the game yourselves, you must closely observe how I play and acquire some fundamental knowledge," Boss Fang declared with a look of utmost solemnity. "Only then will you be able to explain it properly to the customers in the future. Do you understand?"

"Uh... Guild Master..." Li Wuya stammered, "Can this... can this really improve one's cultivation?! And those techniques we just saw, like the ultimate skill of that divine general, can we actually learn them too?!"

Manipulating Jing Tian to climb out of bed, Boss Fang replied, "In this game, do you see? Right now, I am the protagonist. Therefore, whatever the protagonist learns, you can learn right along with him. Furthermore, there is another medium called movies, through which you can gain insights and benefits simply by spectating. For now, I shall explain this to you first."

The group hurriedly gathered behind him, focusing all their attention on Boss Fang as he played The Legend of Sword and Fairy 3.

"The Guild Master was hit by a very beautiful, spoiled young lady!"

"That is not the Guild Master, that is the protagonist..."

They whispered among themselves as they watched.

"The Guild Master is being scolded by the accountant..."

"Hush... it is the protagonist! The protagonist!"

"The protagonist was beaten by a minor monster! This protagonist is just an ordinary person..."

They followed along from behind, watching until the moment Chong Lou entered the pawnshop to pawn the Demon Sword...

"Is that not that supreme demon?!"

"Why did he come over here..."

A chorus of gasps immediately erupted from behind Boss Fang.

On the screen, Chong Lou looked at Jing Tian with an expression of surprise and regret, sighing, "Have you truly fallen to such a state...?"

That voice seemed to carry the sorrow and loneliness of thousands of years, spanning across ancient and modern times. As the Demon Sword returned to Jing Tian's hands once more, the entire saga of Sword and Fairy 3 officially unveiled its curtain.

The central theme of Sword and Fairy 3 lay in reincarnation. Reincarnated into the mortal realm, one would completely forget the events of their past life. Only then did the onlookers realize that this utterly inconspicuous little figure before them was actually the reincarnation of that very divine general from the previous battle between gods and demons.

Divine General Fei Peng and Demon Respect Chong Lou—the two were incompatible enemies, yet they were also rivals who held a deep, mutual respect for one another. Their first encounter in the mortal world bound the various entanglements of their past lives—Jing Tian and Chong Lou, Jing Tian and Xuejian, Jing Tian and the Demon Sword—to the present, drawing the spectating crowd into this unimaginably wondrous world of immortals and heroes.

If they had been shocked previously by witnessing that terrifying battle between gods and demons, they now felt a genuine impulse to discover what kind of miraculous experiences awaited these characters later in the story.

"Sister Lanruo, look... that sword is actually following Jing Tian around!" Watching from outside the screen, it no longer seemed quite as frightening, and even the timid girl, Li Qiner, began to find it entertaining.

"So the divine general who seemed so terrifying actually looks no different from us after reincarnation..."

Li Wuya spoke up, asking, "Guild Master... this...? Can we truly do it as well...? Is it possible that if we enter, we will also become the reincarnation of this divine general...?"

Even though it was just a story, it felt far too realistic. Even when merely looking at the screen, it felt utterly inconceivable.

Meanwhile, outside the shop entrance.

"When did a new shop open here?" A few young cultivators who dressed rather exquisitely glanced over in curiosity. Just as they were about to step inside, several shop assistants from the neighboring establishment rushed forward, saying, "Oh, young masters, you must not enter that shop. Why don't you come and check out our place instead?"

"Must not enter? Why can we not enter?"

Following that, a few other young people happened to pass by. Seeing that the other shops were bustling with people while this particular storefront was completely deserted, they wondered aloud, "What is wrong with this shop?"

"They offended someone they shouldn't have..." a person nearby explained. "Come, let us stand further away. It is best not to get involved with this shop at all."

"..."

The front of the shop grew increasingly desolate.

Naturally, the inside of the shop and the outside world were two entirely different realms. The few individuals inside the shop were practically about to explode with excitement. To think they could actually experience the reincarnated life of a true god?!

"Guild Master, if we play by ourselves..." Li Wuya had originally intended to ask if there were any discounts, but after glancing at the small blackboard which read '80 spiritual crystals to activate, 2 spiritual crystals per hour', he realized that a hundred or so spiritual stones were completely affordable for them. Thus, he changed his tune, "Can we pay to play by ourselves when no one else is coming?"

"Of course you can!" Boss Fang replied. "If others do not come to play, we shall simply close the doors and play by ourselves."

He pointed to the six-character mantra on the small blackboard and said, "There is no need to care about anyone else. Play if you want, beat it if you don't."

"Precisely!" Li Wuya exclaimed excitedly. "Play if you want, beat it if you don't!"

He wished that absolutely no one else would come.

If it were not for the fact that he was an employee of this establishment, he would probably want to drive away any customers who dared to show up.

Since there was not a single customer in the shop anyway, Boss Fang was not stingy about letting these few employees double as customers, allowing them to openly play games during work hours.

"When you have free time, you can also take a look at Celestial Devourer or Shushan. Do not always remain addicted to a single game," Boss Fang reminded them.

"Understood, Guild Master!" Everyone buried their heads back into the game, playing frantically.

Returning from having lunch outside, Boss Fang added, "Remember to eat."

"Understood, Guild Master!" Everyone kept their heads down, playing frantically.

"Remember..."

"Understood, Guild..." Before the words could be fully uttered, a notification appeared on the screen: 'Your game time has reached its daily limit...'

"..." Everyone stared at Boss Fang with expressions full of resentment, looking so miserable that anyone who saw them would feel deeply grieved. "Can we please play for just a bit longer... just a tiny bit..."

Boss Fang looked at his employees, "Are you here to mind the shop or to play games...?"

As the days passed, the players in the other two shops discovered this newly released game even without Boss Fang's recommendation, and many began to pick it up.

Although Devil May Cry 3 was formidable, it leaned too heavily toward warriors. For cultivators, it was still less than ideal. In terms of gameplay experience, the majority of cultivators were thoroughly thrashed to the point of questioning their own existence. Therefore, for many of the more casual cultivator players, a fantasy cultivation game was evidently far more agreeable.

Over at the new shop, even after several days had passed, it remained as deserted as ever. Aside from Li Wuya, Li Lanruo, and the others who busied themselves joyfully by acting as both employees and customers, not a soul entered the shop to play, nor did anyone even bother to inquire about it.

Early this morning, the group set off from the Taiwang Institute toward the Origin Internet Club as usual. Just as Li Lanruo and the others stepped out the door, someone cried out, "Look quickly! The little princess of the Jiang family has arrived!"

"No way...? The little princess of the Jiang family has come to the Haotian Academy as well?!"

"Wang Xie, Nangong Zhuo, Xun Yuan... every single one of them is a genius, and added to the existing prodigies of the Haotian Academy, good heavens... things are certainly going to get lively now..."

Meanwhile, on Boss Fang's new communication jade: "Boss, is the shop open yet? Hehe (obedient)"
