Chapter 852: Break Big Ear

Chapter 852: The One with the Big Ears

The figure in the sky, his big ears trailing behind him like a tattered cloak, flicked his wrist and slammed the scoundrels into the neck of a sturdy man watching from the sidelines.

Then he raised his right hand, casually plucked off the man’s screaming head, and claimed his body as his own.

With this new vessel, the one with the big ears turned to Li Huowang and said, “Master Li, don’t rush. They sent me to speak with you sincerely—truly, we mean no harm.”

“Everything can be discussed; there’s no need for such hostility.”

Li Huowang halted, frowning at the old man before him. Clearly, this was the first time they were trying soft tactics after all their hard-line posturing.

Li Huowang didn’t refuse. When this old man wanted to kill him, he could do so anytime—he had more pressing matters now. What exactly was going on?

He had already been dragged into this mess, yet everything still felt foggy and unclear.

“Fine,” Li Huowang said. “You talk. Let’s clear things up today. I’m always reasonable. I honestly don’t know what I’ve done to offend you, that you’d strike without even a word.”

While speaking, the Great Qi court had already received word—the entire street was surrounded by the Celestial Observing Bureau of Great Qi.

Despite the surrounding threat, the one with the big ears showed no fear. He looked calmly at Li Huowang, unflinching.

“Are you truly unaware or pretending not to know?”

“I know,” Li Huowang replied. “But why should I save Great Qi? Can’t you just live your peaceful lives?”

“You can’t,” the old man said. “One flower, one world; one tree, one life. That flower where I come from is withering. You, Master Li, have a compassionate heart—you won’t let the people of Great Qi starve. But will you allow millions of people from Tianchen Nation to die in vain?”

“Stop using morality as a leash on me! I don’t play that game! If your world has troubles, what does it matter to me? Who wronged you? Go find them!”

The one with the big ears bowed respectfully to Li Huowang. “Forgive us, Master Li. Those men were coarse folk—I apologize on their behalf. I didn’t agree with their actions, but I couldn’t stop them.”

“You’re right,” Li Huowang said. “If someone wrongs us, we go after them. But we must pass through another tree’s blossom—and we happen to go through Great Qi.”

“If Great Qi is once again supported by you, our passage will be troublesome.”

After carefully analyzing the old man’s words, Li Huowang realized the man meant to unleash the full might of his world in a major move.

“If you are so reasonable, how about a deal?” the one with the big ears said, stroking his white beard with a smile.

Hearing this, Li Huowang, half-skeptical, sneered inwardly: *So now you want reason because you see I’m tough? What took you so long?*

The old man continued, “We have no real conflict with you. Why not end hostilities and make peace?”

“All we ask is that you let us pass through Great Qi. In return, Tianchen Nation will open its granaries and send three years’ harvest to feed the people of Great Qi.”

At these words, the crowd of Great Qi citizens stirred with excitement. Food was scarce, and everyone understood the weight of such a promise.

“Hold on. Don’t just talk about benefits—tell me what you’re really going to do.”

Who knew what this Tianchen Nation was about? The more promises he made, the less trusting Li Huowang became. He hadn’t forgotten how these beasts had tried to kill him not long ago.

Hearing Li Huowang’s question, the old man chuckled again. “Master Li, you’re truly perceptive. Yes, we need your help.”

He pointed to the bone sword behind Li Huowang. “We need to borrow your Flying Mountain Sword. We hope you’ll grant us this favor.”

“Don’t give my sword fancy names,” Li Huowang said, gripping the hilt. Immediately, memories of the previous rider who tried to steal his bone sword came flooding back.

“Wait,” he said. “Why do you need my bone sword? Is the trouble in your world happening in the Liang world?”

“Yes,” the old man nodded firmly. “The physicians at the Grand Historian’s Office observed the stars and found that the Evil Mother of Nurturing has returned. We must kill that White Lotus Demoness quickly, or Tianchen Nation will never know peace!”

“The White Lotus... demoness... the Evil Mother of Nurturing?” Li Huowang fell silent for a moment, then slowly stepped toward the one with the big ears. “You said we had no deathly conflict, right?”

“That’s correct.”

“Now we do!”

Before the words were fully out, Li Huowang’s body shifted instantly, appearing directly in front of the old man. His bone sword stabbed straight into the man’s forehead.

Just as the old man’s head was cleanly severed in two, his body that lay on the ground suddenly stood up and leaped backward.

It turned out the head wasn’t the most important part—only the body on the ground mattered.

Seeing the man flee, Chan Du, who had been waiting nearby, quickly sat cross-legged and plucked the nine scars from his head, hurling them toward the fleeing one.

In midair, the black scar suddenly expanded, transforming into a grotesque mass of twisted flesh.

As the scar neared the old man, a hole suddenly appeared in the air, swallowing the flesh ball whole.

Just as the old man was about to fly into the hole, Li Huowang’s eyes widened. The man froze mid-air, then began collapsing inward.

As the old man was about to be crushed into a paste by Li Huowang’s cultivation power, a crystal-clear jade hand suddenly reached out from the hole.

It gently grabbed the man and tossed him aside. Li Huowang’s gaze involuntarily followed.

Chan Du’s scar replaced the old man, turning into a paste. And the old man himself vanished into the hole in the sky.

Li Huowang stood stunned, unable to recover for a long while. If he had seen correctly, that hand had taken away what he had created?

That kind of ability that could cause two worlds to shift—it was clearly the power of Heart Coil.

Yet such a power that could directly touch the true essence was beyond mortal capability. Even if he could only create it, he couldn’t touch it like that hand could, nor could he toss it away!

Li Huowang knew his own strength. He had always believed he had few equals in this mortal realm—but now, it seemed otherwise.

“Whose hand was that? How did it do that?! Only the Fate Keeper could possibly perform such a feat!”
