Chapter 866: Entering the Heaven Gate

Su Yu sought entry into the Heavenly Gate, not the Earthly Gate, and the crux of this choice lay entirely with the Time Master.

This was the very person who had influenced him for over a decade.

Toward the Time Master, Su Yu remained uncertain of his true feelings.

Was it admiration?

Was it aversion?

Or was it hatred?

The Time Master's Book of Time had altered the trajectory of Su Yu’s life, yet such a transformation had been excruciatingly painful. For over ten years, agony had been his constant companion, forcing him to struggle for survival within his dreams, repeatedly reborn amidst the throes of death.

The Time Master had forged Su Yu, yet she had also driven him to the brink of painful madness for many years.

Without the Time Master, the Su Yu of today would simply not exist.

After entering the academy, Su Yu had encountered countless tribulations, but he had never deemed them a matter of great consequence; even after venturing alone into the Battlefield of the Myriad Realms, he had felt no lingering dread.

On that fateful day when he was trapped in the ancient city, Su Yu, a genius of the highest order, chose to transform himself into a semi-necromancer. It was an unprecedented act, yet he performed it without the slightest hesitation.

I am, by nature, already half-dead anyway.

After the age of eighteen, though the dreams ceased and the inhuman tortures relented, Su Yu had already grown entirely accustomed to it by that moment. Whether they existed or not, did it truly make any difference?

Born with innate intelligence, Su Yu had nevertheless been driven to madness over these years, a feat for which the Time Master deserved utmost credit.

Yet, without her, perhaps Su Yu would have perished in the impending convergence of the Three Gates of the Myriad Realms a few years from now. Which outcome was truly better, even Su Yu himself could not tell.

Within the Seal of the Human Ruler.

Su Yu's Heavenly Gate manifested. At this moment, the Heavenly Gate appeared far clearer and weightier than ever before.

To enter through the illusory projection of the Heavenly Gate, should his true body descend directly, or should he cast a clone instead?

A clone was inherently inferior to the original body, and without the support of his own world, Su Yu’s current strength—the power of twenty-four Daos—would amount to around twenty Daos at most outside his domain. If he projected a clone, it might dwindle further to a mere sixteen Daos or so.

Just barely reaching the first rank.

It was not weak by any means,

However, within this Heavenly Gate where masters of restricted areas abounded, a first-rank cultivator was merely a rogue practitioner. If Su Yu entered and chanced upon a truly powerful entity, he would likely find himself utterly powerless.

And his primary objective in entering was, after all, to find the Time Master.

As for killing others to satisfy his Dao cultivation, that was entirely secondary.

He desired to meet the Time Master.

He also intended to rescue her, fulfilling his vow to Fat Ball. He had once promised Fat Ball that when he possessed the capability, he would rescue the King of Wen and the Time Master. Although the current Su Yu still lagged far behind the King of Wen, he rarely broke his word once a promise was made, unless it proved absolutely impossible to fulfill.

If his true body entered without carrying his world, he would retain a strength of at least twenty Daos.

If he directly carried the Seal of the Human Ruler into the gate, he might only be slightly weaker than if he had relocated his entire world inside. However, taking the core of his world away would be exceedingly perilous.

At this moment, Su Yu was pondering whether his true body should make the descent.

Had this been before the Return of the Human Emperor, there would be no need for contemplation.

Su Yu would have sent a clone without a second thought, absolutely refusing to take such a risk.

Yet, now that the Human Emperor had returned and Blue Sky had opened his own world, Su Yu was no longer burdened by so many weights. He wished, for once, to live for himself.

He wanted to seek out the Time Master; if his strength were lacking, he might not even catch a glimpse of her face.

For his current self, making further breakthroughs was a monumental challenge.

Principal Wan!

Su Yu called out softly, and a moment later, Wan Tiansheng floated into view.

Beholding the Heavenly Gate hovering before Su Yu, Wan Tiansheng let out a soft sigh, as if reaching an understanding, and murmured, "Go with your true body. The Human Emperor has returned, so follow your own heart. If something truly goes awry, I will inform everyone and migrate us into the world of the Human Emperor."

Su Yu watched him in silence.

Wan Tiansheng gave a gentle smile. "To act according to one's own desires is also a form of enjoyment. Back when you entered the academy, you immediately began running ragged for the Poly-God Character faction. That was still during the Anping Era, and now, it is already the second year of the Xinyu Era. What harm is there in living for yourself just this once? The Time Master altered the course of your life; I can understand your feelings."

He looked at Su Yu, his smile radiant. "Just take good care of yourself. If you truly cannot return, then we shall wait until the Heavenly Gate fully opens. An unfettered Su Yu is the most elegant, the most promising, and the most intriguing marvel in this world."

As he gazed at Su Yu, a trace of tenderness flickered deep within his eyes.

Battling, endless battling.

Scheming, endless scheming.

Slaughtering, endless slaughtering.

He killed others, and others sought to kill him. Throughout these years, Su Yu had never paused, never stayed his steps, fighting his way from the Human Realm to the Myriad Realms, from the Myriad Realms to the Upper Realm, and from the Upper Realm to the upper reaches of the Long River of Time.

Now, the Three Gates were about to open, heralding what might be yet another grand war, a conflict destined to stretch on indefinitely.

It seemed Su Yu had never once considered his own well-being.

Since the Human Emperor was now back, Wan Tiansheng supported his desire to venture out. Seeing Su Yu watching him, he smiled and said, "You are Su Yu, not everyone's nanny. We wish to place shackles upon you, yet we must also grant you time to breathe. Go on. Danger is certain to exist, but could it possibly be more perilous than before? Back when you were merely in the Soaring Realm, you dared to stir up storms across the entire Myriad Realms Battlefield. Now that you have attained the first rank, would you still fear a few masters of restricted areas?"

Su Yu smiled.

He looked at Wan Tiansheng, and only after a long silence did he ask, "Does the Principal think I should bring the Seal of the Human Ruler with me?"

"Bring it,"

Wan Tiansheng smiled. "If you do not bring it, how will you enhance the power of your world when you slay your enemies? If you do not bring it, how will you maintain a connection to your own world? Bring it along; even if it is destroyed by others, then let it be destroyed! We might be severely wounded, but we will not easily perish—especially now that the Human Emperor is willing to accept us. If all else fails, are there not others to rely on?"

His smile was brilliant. "Go! Live for yourself this once, act on your impulses. You are Su Yu, not the Human Emperor!"

Su Yu chuckled warmly. "Why do I feel as though the Principal is sending me to my death? Principal, you are instigating me to commit misdeeds!"

Wan Tiansheng laughed as well, shaking his head. "No, because I know you cannot endure loneliness. Once you enter, you will inevitably look for trouble and seek out the Time Master. If you enter with a clone and truly provoke disaster, it will mean death anyway. You might as well go all out, bringing your full inheritance, so that at least no regrets remain."

He understood Su Yu's character well.

Was Su Yu a man who could tolerate obscurity?

If not, then Su Yu would sooner or later court trouble on his own. He knew this all too clearly, and since that was the case, Su Yu ought to bring along everything he could carry.

Su Yu could not help but laugh.

He had merely intended to ask for Wan Tiansheng's opinion, but before he could even speak his mind, Wan Tiansheng had already divined his thoughts and even urged him to leave with everything.

"Principal, I will not be taking the Seal of the Human Ruler. That place is the source of the Great Dao; if it is destroyed, lives will be lost."

Su Yu smiled, looking at Wan Tiansheng, and suddenly a craftier grin spread across his face. "I want to go in and see, to see with my true body whether I can forge another Chronicle of Civilization after I enter."

Wan Tiansheng was taken aback. "What do you mean?"

Su Yu bared his teeth in a grin. "I want to see if I can open another world after entering. Yin and Yang in harmony; if I open a world internally and then emerge, perhaps at that very moment, I can instantly transcend, truly catching up to the likes of the King of Wen and the Human Emperor!"

*Hiss!*

Wan Tiansheng was utterly astonished, unable to keep himself from staring at Su Yu. "If such a feat were truly possible, wouldn't others have done it long ago?"

Su Yu laughed. "What others? The King of Wen had no time, the King of Wu lacked the skill, and it isn't as if just anyone can open a world. I've observed that the denizens within can also connect to our Daos, which means they too can cultivate our paths—it's just that they had no means to do so before."

Su Yu chuckled. "Since that is the case, starting over from scratch is perfectly fine. Moreover, I am not truly starting from nothing; I possess a foundation and an accumulation of heritage to rebuild my world."

Su Yu said merrily, "I want to give everyone a magnificent surprise! I intend to establish a world within the gate as well. Even if it cannot be moved out for the time being, when the Three Gates open, I shall merge the twin worlds into one!"

Su Yu smiled. "I've even prepared myself to find a way to comprehend a Dao native to the gate upon arrival, disguising myself as a rogue practitioner within. Therefore, I will not bring the Seal of the Human Ruler; the marks of the Great Dao upon it are far too conspicuous."

Wan Tiansheng looked at him, genuinely surprised.

This fellow—so that was his thinking all along.

No wonder he’d been so torn about whether to send his true self over.

Wan Tiansheng pondered a moment, then said, “Opening another sky within the gate—your idea is truly ambitious!”

This guy—his heart was wild!

Su Yu chuckled: “Headmaster, if I only did what ordinary men can do, how would that make me a genius? It’s when I do what ordinary men cannot that I shine! Of course, nothing’s certain yet, but I want to try. And honestly, I don’t want to expand my own world any further.”

“Why?”

Su Yu sighed: “The gap between the great paths is too vast. If I keep adding more paths—like flesh, spear techniques, fire—the imbalance in my world will only worsen!”

“Going beyond the gate is partly to gain insight into paths I haven’t deeply understood before—unconventional ones. Then, if the worlds can merge, they’ll complement each other!”

Su Yu was saving himself, too.

Wan Tiansheng thought it over, nodded, and smiled: “Alright then. Once you’re inside, immerse yourself in the seven emotions and six desires. When those grow strong in your world, yin and yang will unite—and maybe I’ll even reap some benefit!”

He added: “Go to the Heavenly Gate. The Earthly Gate still has cracks; if the chance arises, we’ll take a look there too.”

Su Yu didn’t stop him. Each had their own fortune.

He himself couldn’t bear stillness—these men clearly couldn’t either.

Lantian had already opened his own sky. Su Yu hadn’t helped Wan Tiansheng, because Wan wasn’t ready yet—first, too few paths; second, his paths were too weak. Lantian was weak too, but he had many more paths!

Far more than Wan Tiansheng!

“Since the Headmaster thinks my approach is fine, I’m at ease!”

Su Yu smiled: “Let the Human Emperor keep cleaning up the mess. I can’t be bothered. If I find a way, I’ll try to return early—maybe conquer a forbidden land and connect it to my Heavenly Gate, then come back!”

Wan Tiansheng nodded. “Need to say goodbye to the others?”

“No need. Forget it—they’d only try to talk me out of it.”

Su Yu laughed: “Besides the Headmaster, everyone else—including the Human Emperor—might advise me against taking risks. But if I listened, would I still be Su Yu?”

“A Su Yu who never takes risks—is that still Su Yu?”

Since becoming a ruler, he’d learned to plan before acting—that was necessity!

The real Su Yu loved to gamble small for big gains!

If he hadn’t gambled, how could he have come this far?

Now, though his progress seemed swift, his foundation was shaky—worse than before. Back then, each risk brought rewards that made his footing firmer.

Su Yu opened a tiny crack in the Heavenly Gate, sensing the aura within, and said: “Headmaster, I’m going in.”

Decisive as ever, before leaving, he’d told the Human Emperor, and now Wan Tiansheng. He had few lingering attachments. He wouldn’t take the Seal of the Human Sovereign—its path aura was too dense.

His true self entering would wield at least twenty path-forces—enough!

Among first-rank beings, he wasn’t too weak.

Today, Su Yu once again tasted that old thrill—the freedom to come and go as he pleased.

Burdens?

He’d leave them behind. Let the Human Emperor carry them!

The next moment, Su Yu vanished into the Heavenly Gate, and the gate itself disappeared.

The entire world trembled faintly.

Others felt nothing.

Far away.

In the Human Emperor’s world.

The Human Emperor’s face changed abruptly. Then he couldn’t help cursing: “You bastard!”

Su Yu, that madman, that scoundrel—he’d actually run off with his true self!

Others hadn’t sensed it, but he did.

The Human Emperor was almost frantic with rage!

After his fury, helplessness and worry crept in. None of them listened!

Warriors were so much better!

He sighed. Warriors obeyed so well—pity they couldn’t easily transcend to become true peak powerhouses.

The Human Emperor considered a moment, then suddenly manifested a Heavenly Gate of his own. No sooner had it appeared than a tremor came, and a cold voice from within: “Xingyu, eager to enter? I’m waiting for you!”

The Human Emperor was exasperated. Damn it—still watching me!

I was just testing—didn’t expect that bastard to be on guard.

Does the Tianshan Mountain have nothing better to do?

His voice echoed in: “You’re on my tail day and night—did I dig up your ancestors? I warn you, don’t push me. Piss me off, and I’ll show you no mercy!”

“If you have the guts, send your true self in!”

The voice of the Tianshan Mountain Lord came from beyond the gate, cold and deep.

The Human Emperor chuckled: “Then send a projection over—I’ll play with you!”

The Tianshan Mountain Lord ignored him.

A projection would be weak—the Human Emperor would kill it easily.

“If you’re not afraid, release the seal and let me descend with Tianshan Mountain!”

“What are you thinking?”

The Human Emperor laughed, then said: “Alright, let’s just stay deadlocked. No need for you to come out or me to go in. Tianshan, we’re old acquaintances. The Heavenly Gate is about to open, isn’t it? You’re not the only forbidden land lord—there are many. You hold no advantage. Have you ever considered cooperating with me?”

“Hah!”

A cold laugh. “You, Xingyu, are ruthless and black-hearted. How many gate-dwellers have you killed? Cooperate with you? That’s suicide!”

The Human Emperor’s fishing skills were no worse than Su Yu’s.

In ancient times, he’d lured and killed all the strong ones in this region—until he met the Tianshan Mountain Lord, and the fishing stopped.

“That’s harsh!”

The Human Emperor smiled: “Look, I crushed the Ten Thousand Races a few days ago. Did you feel it? The remnants of the Ten Thousand Races swam upstream again. I’ve been idle lately…”

“The Ten Thousand Races lost?”

The Tianshan Mountain Lord was somewhat surprised. “Lost?”

“You must be badly wounded?”

“Under those circumstances, the Ten Thousand Races still lost—how useless!”

No wonder Xingyu dared to open the Heavenly Gate again. Before this, even projecting a first-rank clone inside would have worried him. For many years, Xingyu hadn’t opened the gate.

“Almost recovered!”

The Human Emperor said lightly: “That the Ten Thousand Races couldn’t beat me—isn’t that only natural?”

With that, the Human Emperor added, “No more idle talk. If you’re willing to cooperate, help me deal with that fellow from Eternal Life Mountain and free King Wen and the others.”

“Not killing him was already my limit, and you want me to help them?”

The Heavenly Dome Mountain Lord nearly laughed.

“Are you mad, or am I?”

“As you wish!”

The Human Emperor said calmly, “If you want to be the first to enter the Myriad Realms, consider this: if you help me, before the Heavenly Gate opens—even a day early—you can come out ahead through my side and gain the advantage! Do you insist on waiting for everyone to swarm out together? Think it over!”

Without waiting for a reply, the Human Emperor withdrew the Heavenly Gate and paid no further heed.

He pondered: would the Heavenly Dome Mountain Lord make a move?

Of course, the odds were slim.

But if he had any ambition, he might meddle—and with the turmoil behind the gate, Su Yu might find a chance to fish in troubled waters.

Soon, the Human Emperor sighed again, somewhat helpless.

No choice!

I can only leave it to you all. As for the Heavenly Gate, I can no longer manage it now.

He sensed his own world; progress was not slow, but relying on this state to recover his peak—who knew how long that would take?

As he thought, the Human Emperor’s figure materialized and instantly appeared before the Earthly Gate.

The Earthly Gate flickered in and out of view. The Human Emperor waved and smiled, “Come, I won’t hit you—why run?”

The Earthly Gate seemed to react, or perhaps not, but gradually it coalesced, no longer as insubstantial as before.

The Human Emperor beamed, “Good! I didn’t beat you much—back then, I only struck you a few times, and accidentally made the crack a bit bigger. My fault, sorry. When you fully revive, I’ll apologize properly!”

With that, he reached out and grasped—suddenly, a portal appeared in the void.

The next moment, Tongtian Hou appeared, looking awkward: “Greetings, Your Majesty the Human Emperor!”

The Human Emperor smiled at him, “You’ve done well for yourself—taken plenty of benefits from Su Yu’s side.”

“By luck, His Majesty the Universe Emperor is generous.”

“So I’m the stingy one?”

“No, not at all!”

Tongtian said sheepishly, “I never said that.”

The Human Emperor, too lazy to argue, looked at him and smiled, “I’ll give you a signal. Infiltrate it into the Earthly Gate and summon—see if you can call some of my old subordinates over.”

Tongtian’s heart trembled slightly!

He looked at the Human Emperor, who gazed back with a grin, “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing, nothing.”

The Human Emperor chuckled again, “Don’t worry—there’s no one else nearby now. After that punch I threw, few dare to stay near the gate!”

“Alright.”

Tongtian Hou dared not resist. Soon, he received a signal from the Human Emperor, and then the power of the portal subtly seeped into the Earthly Gate.

The Human Emperor waited.

Tongtian watched the Human Emperor warily, wondering whom he intended to summon—could it be Yiyue?

It was said Yiyue was inside.

After an unknown time, a voice, tinged with caution, came from within the gate: “Your Majesty?”

The Human Emperor smiled, his grin radiant!

But Tongtian was astonished—it wasn’t Yiyue, nor anyone familiar. Who had come?

The Human Emperor chuckled, “It’s me!”

As he spoke, a faint wisp of power drifted inside.

The person behind the gate seemed relieved and quickly said respectfully, “Your subordinate pays homage to Your Majesty!”

“Your Majesty left the Myriad Realms for years; I searched several times but could not find news of you. Your subordinate has been worried…”

“It’s fine!”

The Human Emperor smiled and said, “The Earthly Gate is chaotic—be careful yourselves! But I have some troubles here too, badly injured. Are there any treasures in the Earthly Gate suitable for my realm’s recovery?”

“Treasures?”

The person thought for a long while before saying, “Ordinary treasures, I cannot obtain, and even if I did, they might not help Your Majesty. There are treasures fit for healing you—the Human Ancestor’s Eternal Bamboo, the Chaos Lord’s Ageless Root…”

The Human Emperor laughed, “Nonsense! Expecting you to fetch those is suicide!”

Then he added, “Is there anything you can get? If not, find a way to send me some Chaos Source—while no one dares come near here, send some out!”

“That’s no problem!”

The person continued, “Your Majesty, has a batch of newcomers entered recently?”

“Yes, all enemies. Kill them if you can; if not, ignore them.”

“No, Your Majesty—someone from the Human Gate may have entered. Lately, there’s been activity on Bihua Mountain; they might have contacted the Chaos Lord. I inquired but dared not probe too deeply. From what I know, the Human Gate may want the Chaos Lord to break through the Earthly Gate first, to stir chaos in the Myriad Realms, and the Chaos Lord might demand the Myriad Path Stone as a bargaining chip.”

“Myriad Path Stone?”

The Human Emperor thought, recalling, and said, “Could it be the legendary Rule Stone born from the convergence of myriad paths?”

“Possibly—but it’s said to be the Myriad Path Source Stone, left over from when the Lord of Time created the heavens…”

“Impossible!”

The Human Emperor hesitated, “If such a thing existed, it would have been used long ago! Does the Human Gate still keep it? Why? Waiting to be robbed?”

He was puzzled, and the person inside the gate was unclear, saying, “I don’t know—I can’t probe the Human Gate’s situation.”

“Forget it.”

The Human Emperor laughed, thought a moment, and said, “For a transaction between the Human Gate and the other party, they’d have to travel the River of Time, best find an agent—someone who opened the Human Gate. That’s hard to come by! Entering and exiting would also require passing through the Earthly Gate. Fine, I’ll keep an eye on this. If I can snatch it, good; if not, send me a batch of Chaos Source first!”

“Understood! Your subordinate will act quickly!”

“Good, go then. Be careful—I won’t summon you lightly without reason.”

“Understood!”

Soon, the figure vanished.

The Human Emperor stared at the Earthly Gate, lost in thought, while Tongtian Hou racked his brains—who was that?

Gradually, Tongtian’s expression shifted.

I might know who it is!

He couldn’t help but look at the Human Emperor, his face growing more peculiar—Heavens, this one is also a wily old fox!

And the Human Emperor, turning his head to glance at Tongtian, smiled, “What’s wrong?”

Tongtian, chilled by the smile, quickly said, “Nothing, nothing! Does Your Majesty have any further orders?”

"Gone!"

The Human Emperor laughed: "Cultivate well, don't spend all day thinking about this and that. Your foundation is solid, and it's not for nothing that Old Wen the Second granted you a marquisate back then. By the way, don't idle about all day. As a Son of the Three Gates, go investigate who has opened the Human Gate, the Earth Gate, and the Heavenly Gate in the myriad realms. Idling around all day will only waste you!"

Tongtian was dejected, then cautiously said: "I am not a Son of the Three Gates."

The Human Emperor smirked: "Nonsense! Don't you know in your heart? Even if you weren't a Son of the Three Gates, I'd still consider you my son. Forget it, I can't be bothered to acknowledge you! Old Wen the Second paid a great price, extracting some of my Heavenly Gate power, his own, plus that of Bright King and the others, and then extracted a good deal of Earth Gate power. Finally, he killed the second Giant King, forcibly stripping him of his Human Gate power. The powers of the Three Gates merged, and thus you were born!"

Tongtian's face changed drastically!

But the Human Emperor remained calm and composed: "Back then, I had you guard the gates precisely so you could investigate all who opened them. That is your true duty. All day long, I wonder what you're thinking—did you truly believe you were born of heaven and earth?"

Marquis Tongtian's expression was utterly strange. After a long pause, he said: "But in my memories, I was born in the River of Time..."

"Exactly!"

The Human Emperor laughed: "You were born in the River of Time. Old Wen the Second placed you in the river to nurture you. 'Tongtian'—'piercing the heavens'—wasn't meant for you to open the Heavenly Aperture, but to hope you could open the Three Gates. We were preparing to storm the Three Gates back then, but later your progress slowed. You needed the power of the gates to advance, but where was there so much gate power? So Old Wen the Second temporarily gave up."

Marquis Tongtian's face grew even more peculiar: "But..."

"No buts."

The Human Emperor said calmly: "I didn't bother mentioning it before—'man-made gate' doesn't sound good! But now, I see you've started to truly treat yourself as kin to the Three Gates. I have to remind you: if the Three Gates awaken and see you, they'll devour you if they're merciful. Do you really think you're their kin?"

Marquis Tongtian was utterly disheartened: "Your Majesty means... I am truly man-made?"

"Of course!"

The Human Emperor chuckled: "Not just you—are the Three Gates themselves any different? Only the makers are different."

Having said this, the Human Emperor added: "Don't idle about anymore. And don't think about cultivating for now. Your true opportunity lies on the day the Three Gates open!"

The Human Emperor explained: "When the Three Gates open, the portals awaken and their power overflows. That day will be your best chance to advance! You might even reach a terrifying level in one go—then you will become the Fourth Gate! Of course, before that, you need to find a way to strengthen yourself. Let me see if I can guide someone out."

"Guide who?"

Tongtian looked at him. The Human Emperor couldn't be bothered to say—who else but Su Yu?

Was he counting on Su Yu to conquer the forbidden lands and come out?

That was hardly realistic!

He had to find a way for Tongtian to open the gate.

With that thought, the Human Emperor added: "Go take a stroll around Martial Emperor's place. His Heavenly Gate—opening it was pointless. Speaking of which, we stationed you by Martial Emperor's side for years. Didn't you absorb any of his Heavenly Gate power?"

Tongtian's mouth fell open. After a long moment, he said: "No... Can it be absorbed?"

The Human Emperor was taken aback: "Of course it can. Why not?"

Marquis Tongtian was crestfallen: "I thought... I thought I wasn't supposed to absorb it, so I didn't bother."

An honest man!

The Human Emperor sighed, lamented, and shook his head: "You talk so much, yet you're not a cunning man. You didn't even think to absorb it on the sly?"

Marquis Tongtian said dejectedly: "I was afraid King Wen would hit me with the door bolt."

The Human Emperor was even more speechless. After a while, he said: "Forget it, it doesn't matter. You, find a way to open the Heavenly Gate for me. That's it. Don't go around pretending to be mysterious all day. The Three Gates never saw you as kin—why cling to them?"

"I understand."

Marquis Tongtian was deeply disheartened. Wasn't I born of heaven and earth?

I was actually forged by King Wen and the others!

That was truly disheartening!

Thinking about it, he couldn't help but ask: "Then... does that make me the son of Your Majesty and King Wen? Did Your Majesty and King Wen give birth to me together?"

The Human Emperor couldn't be bothered to answer. He vanished instantly, his voice trailing: "Don't you dare leak the news that I contacted that one just now. If you do, I'll have you melted down and reforged!"

"As you command!"

Tongtian responded, his face full of dejection. He looked at the Earth Gate and muttered: "So we're not kin after all..."

That day, the Human Emperor arranged some matters and also prepared to restore his own strength.

He wouldn't rely solely on Su Yu growing stronger.

He himself was the most powerful existence!

Su Yu had gone to the Heavenly Gate, and he still had to find a way to clean up after him. If that fellow ran into danger, perhaps through the Lord of the Heavenly Dome Mountain, he could learn something and find a way to have Tongtian bring Su Yu back.

None of them were worry-free!

As for Old Wen the Second, what had he been doing all these years? No progress at all. The Three Gates were about to open. In the old days, the Human Emperor had grand ambitions—to fight all three sides at once, uniting the myriad realms against the Three Gates. But alas, man proposes, heaven disposes.

Now, the Human Emperor no longer expected the myriad races to join him in attacking the Three Gates. They were all fools, utterly ignorant of what it meant to dare to change the sun and moon for a new sky!

At the same time.

In a chaotic void.

A figure suddenly materialized.

Behind the gate, the phantom of the Heavenly Gate flickered and vanished.

Su Yu had entered!

His true self stepped inside!

The white robe vanished instantly, and his scholarly air disappeared in a flash. In an instant, Su Yu appeared somewhat rugged, with a hint of gloom. His nose elongated slightly, giving him a somewhat aquiline look.

The moment he entered, Su Yu also sensed the aura of the myriad realms, quite distinct here—much like how a living being feels in the realm of the dead. It was actually quite noticeable!

But soon, Su Yu dispelled the other forces within him, leaving only death qi, yin qi, and nether qi.

Now, he fit in somewhat better here.

If the realm of the dead corresponded to the realm of the living, the two poles of life and death, then the inside and outside of the gate represented the great yin and yang realms!

In an instant, Su Yu gained a clear perception.

He took out a map, glanced at it, and his eyes flickered.

First stop—where to go?

Eternal Life Mountain? No, that place was too dangerous now!

He wanted to go to the Hell of the Dead!

Yes, that was the domain of the Lord of the Dead, a truly top-tier existence. Even here, without the enhancement of heaven and earth, the Lord of the Dead was still a supreme being—that was terrifying.

Once this fellow returned to the myriad realms, from what could be seen, none of the lords of the forbidden lands could contend with him.

The Lord of the Dead had gathered a group of powerful beings, all cultivators of death, netherworld, underworld, and yin qi, forging a paradise of the dead behind the gate...

These details surfaced in Su Yu's mind. The Lord of the Dead was ambitious.

He had entered the Heavenly Gate of his own accord.

And since the realm of the dead had endured for so long, perhaps he hoped to merge with it instantly upon his return, becoming a truly supreme existence!

Su Yu rubbed his chin and smiled. Should he go to his place?

I'm afraid he might sense a familiar aura!

After all, that day his will had appeared, and I had messed with him. If I were discovered, it would be trouble.

But isn't this quite enjoyable?

Very thrilling!

Su Yu laughed!

The Lord of the Dead—I so wish to know him. In Su Yu's understanding, the Lord of Time was first, and the Lord of the Dead had always been the second strongest in his cognition. Even now, Su Yu felt that the Lord of the Dead was very strong, perhaps even stronger than the King of Literature and the Human Emperor.

Consider that this one's own realm was also outside, yet he remained here to suppress those lords of the forbidden lands!

Su Yu strongly suspected that he had opened the Dead Realm here, similar to some of his own ideas. It was precisely because he had seen the Dead Hell that Su Yu had conceived the notion of opening a realm here himself.

At this moment, Su Yu took a deep breath. The territory of the Lord of the Dead had not moved for many years, and it was not too far from the Eternal Mountain. He could go to the Lord of the Dead first!

This one was extremely domineering, but being domineering had its advantages—he was not afraid of anyone infiltrating!

Anyone who cultivated the Great Way and was compatible with him, he would accept!

Su Yu could roughly guess his thoughts: after the Heavenly Gate opened, he would take everyone and merge them all into the Dead Realm. That was probably the Lord of the Dead's idea, and it was a very tempting one.

Then here I come!

Su Yu chuckled, gazing at the endless void, judging the direction, and comparing several maps. The locations concerning the Dead Hell were all the same!
