Chapter 344: Wusheng Laomu

Chapter 344: The Mother of No Birth

Upon hearing Chun Xiaoman mention the scholar Lü, Prime Minister Lü dropped his cigarette in fury.

"Don’t even bring that broom-star up! He actually dared to steal money! If you run into him on the road, make sure you tie him up and bring him back—see if I don’t break his legs!"

The two carriages passed each other, and Chun Xiaoman continued her journey into the village. Just as she arrived at the Bai family compound, Bai Lingmiao jumped out of the carriage and headed toward the ancestral hall. "Sister Xiaoman, rest for a while. I’ll go light a stick of incense at the ancestral hall."

Chun Xiaoman looked around anxiously and called out to Guowa, who was passing by. "Hey, come here and take this carriage to the stable."

"Why should I? Did I write 'stable boy' on my face? My wife is pregnant! I have to cook egg drop soup for her!"

Chun Xiaoman reached out and shoved the whip into his hands, ignoring his protests, and hurried toward the Bai family ancestral hall.

When she stepped through the third gate and saw rows of black memorial tablets, her breathing slowed. Her eyes, filled with curiosity and fear, scanned the place she had never entered before.

To be honest, aside from Bai Lingmiao, no one else came near this place. They whispered among themselves that it was eerie and sinister.

Seeing that Bai Lingmiao was indeed kneeling in the center of the hall, praying before the tablets, she finally exhaled in relief and began looking around.

There wasn't much to see, really. The hall was empty, with only some objects placed against the walls. There were no chairs or benches.

She glanced again at Bai Lingmiao, who was kneeling silently muttering something, then swept her gaze over the items on the tables.

Having grown up in a modest household, Chun Xiaoman couldn’t understand the origin of these strange and peculiar decorations.

They were mostly odd stones in bowls, some brightly colored ceramics. Why would anyone place such things inside their house?

After scanning them all, one bronze ornament about the size of a palm caught her attention.

It depicted three monkeys sitting side by side. One covered its ears with a hand, another covered its eyes, and the third clenched its fist against its head.

"What do these three monkeys mean? Why do rich people always like these incomprehensible things? But this little monkey is quite interesting—it’s made so delicately."

Chun Xiaoman walked over to examine it closely. As soon as she touched it, however, she found the monkeys wouldn’t budge.

"Hmm? What's going on? Are they stuck?"

Just as she shook them slightly, the monkeys suddenly shifted to the left.

With a loud crash, the wall of memorial tablets nearby swayed and collapsed, revealing a dark hole radiating cold air before them.

"Dad!" Bai Lingmiao cried out, rushing forward to carefully pick up the fallen tablets. But as she did, she stopped, staring in shock alongside Chun Xiaoman at the hole.

As if drawn by some unseen force, Bai Lingmiao unconsciously moved toward the opening.

A figure passed by her and stepped into the void first. "Wait here. I’ll go check it out."

Not long after, Chun Xiaoman emerged from the hole. "There are lots of words written on the wall. Go get Gao Zhijian!"

Soon, Gao Zhijian, wearing half-armor and carrying a stone on his chest, entered the Bai family ancestral hall. In his hand was a heavy mace, fully armed.

"There’s no need for that. Since this is the Bai family ancestral hall, there shouldn’t be any danger."

"J-just... just... just in case!" Gao Zhijian, tall and imposing, stood before them and stepped in first.

The interior of the hole was vast. The carved words on the wall made Gao Zhijian pause.

"The mud stems from chaos! When the white lotus blooms, the golden age rises!"

Then he looked up and saw banners hanging from the ceiling, adorned with lotus motifs.

"This is the Bai family ancestral hall, isn’t it? How could there be such things hidden inside?"

Though he didn’t know what these things meant, he felt something was off.

"Don’t stand in the middle of the path. Keep moving forward."

Under the urging, Gao Zhijian gripped his weapon tightly and slowly stepped forward, one foot at a time.

From the stairs beneath his feet, he could tell they were descending.

The underground chamber was spacious, and the phrases appearing intermittently on the walls deepened his unease.

"White lotus descends to earth! All people rise up!"

"Mother of No Birth! The Vacuum Homeland!"

Every time Chun Xiaoman asked what the words said, he simply shook his head.

After circling several times, the staircase finally ended. A pitch-black, open space lay ahead of them, illuminated only by the green glow of the crystals in their hands.

"S-S-Stick to the wall! C-C-Careful!"

Gao Zhijian moved along the wall first, feeling his way. Suddenly, he found a book. Using the crystal’s light, he read it.

The script didn’t look like modern calligraphy, but he could understand it. However, the content was difficult to grasp.

"Gao Zhijian, what did you find? Don’t just read it—tell me! You’re driving me crazy!"

Under his companion’s impatient urging, Gao Zhijian stammered through the translation in a way the other could understand.

Mother of No Birth is the ancient Buddha, eternal and uncreated! She can guide us back to the Vacuum Homeland and save us from calamity!

Everything in this world was originally the Mother of No Birth. Every inch of land and sky belonged to the Vacuum Homeland.

We were born, grew, aged, under her protection. Until someone betrayed her—someone she trusted most, a noble prince of heaven!

When the army of the Unspoken sprouted from the Mother of No Birth’s dantian, a group of nobles betrayed her.

They conspired with the Unspoken army to betray the Mother of No Birth! They killed those who refused to betray her, stripped her of everything!

They discarded what they didn’t want and devoured what they needed, ultimately standing shamelessly where the Mother of No Birth once belonged!

These traitors feared their shame being revealed, so they altered history, rewriting every heart’s memory.

But we did not. Our history belongs to the Mother of No Birth. We will forever remember, waiting for the day she returns!

Mother of No Birth is eternal—no birth, no death. Though they’ve stripped her of everything, it also means she can no longer lose anything.

When a person is full of wounds, they can never receive new ones. When something has been stripped of all, it cannot be taken away anymore.

Mother of No Birth is always trying—day and night, man and woman, yin and yang.

Those traitors watch us, afraid, constantly blocking the Mother of No Birth who walks beside us.

They may send their hounds to stop us, but it matters not. As long as we succeed once, the Mother of No Birth will return to her rightful place, riding on six ceramic horses, in full view of all!

"No matter how long it takes, I will wait. As the last surviving noble prince, even if I am killed, the son crawling from my body will continue waiting.

If my son dies, there will be my grandson. My ancestors and descendants will wait forever!! Mother of No Birth, Vacuum Homeland!"
