Chapter 766: Bahui

Chapter 766: Ba Hui

Who are they? Who exactly are they? I am the Keeper of Fate—then who are they? Are they Keepers too? Does Bai Yujing have so many Keepers? What do they intend to do to me?!

The uncertainty about the nature of reality, coupled with an instinctive vigilance toward potential enemies, left Li Huowang’s heart in turmoil.

Just as he instinctively reached for the military knife strapped to his back, attempting to protect himself, a cold metallic object suddenly pressed against his waist.

In the next moment, accompanied by a hissing sound, a sharp electric shock coursed through his body, causing him to tremble violently from the jolt.

"Who is it?! Who's attacking me?!" Filled with rage, Li Huowang struggled to turn around amidst his trembling.

He then saw Yang Na’s face, tears brimming in her eyes. Seeing that Li Huowang was looking at her, Yang Na, sobbing, pulled out an electroshock device once more from her bag and shoved it into his clothes, pressing the switch hard.

"You... you!! Why!!!"

Yang Na bit down on her lip fiercely. She had no choice but to do this. Li Huowang was having a seizure now—if she didn’t control him quickly, someone would definitely die on the pedestrian street!

Not only would she be harming an innocent person, but if such a situation occurred again, Li Huowang would truly spend the rest of his life in a psychiatric hospital.

In truth, she had secretly placed an electroshock device in her bag not for self-defense, but specifically to prevent Li Huowang from having another episode.

Their eyes met, and amid the hissing of the electroshock device, Li Huowang opened his mouth shakily. “Stop… stop!”

The pain and sorrow in Yang Na gradually pulled Li Huowang back from his confusion between truth and illusion.

With tears streaming down her cheeks, Yang Na shook her head forcefully, pressing both ends of the electroshock devices firmly into Li Huowang’s flesh, determined not to let go until he was unconscious.

“I said… stop!” When Li Huowang suddenly gripped the back of Yang Na’s hand and released it immediately, the current surged through his body. The intense shock caused Yang Na to drop the device, which fell to the ground.

Li Huowang picked up the device and hurriedly supported the limp Yang Na into his arms, muttering over and over, “It’s okay… I’m fine… I’m fine…”

Seeing the two embrace tightly without any further unusual behavior, the crowd around them looked disappointed and put their phones back down.

"Miss, are you alright? Is he threatening you? Do you know this scar-faced guy? Should we call the police?" Several young men who volunteered stepped forward, asking Yang Na with concern.

Yang Na shook her head, burying her face in Li Huowang’s chest, whispering through sobs, "I'm fine… He's my boyfriend. We just broke up…"

Upon hearing that it was just a young couple arguing, those who had gathered to watch lost interest and dispersed to continue shopping along the pedestrian street.

Li Huowang held Yang Na close, staggering toward the stairs. Once back inside the tattoo parlor, they collapsed onto the sofa.

The two siblings, the Ba family, watching the scene didn’t chase them away. Instead, they closed the door and temporarily ceased business.

Li Huowang’s body twitched involuntarily from time to time—a side effect of the recent electric shock.

Yet at this moment, he paid no attention to these physical symptoms. The external troubles were temporarily resolved, but the real trouble remained. His mind was completely lost in confusion.

"Are all of this false? If you're fake, then who are you a projection of? If you're fake, yet so real..."

Li Huowang stared at Yang Na’s tear-streaked face and asked himself. The emotions reflected in her eyes pierced him deeply.

Unconsciously, he kissed her. He really wanted to know what was true and what was false.

He didn’t care whether he was a projection or not—he cared about one thing: Was the woman in his arms truly the same Yang Na who once watched stars with him on the rooftop?

At that moment, the sofa trembled violently. “You’re really going at it, huh? Want to strip for us too? Did you bring a condom? Need one borrowed?”

Li Huowang stiffened, standing abruptly and staring at the figure before him—Ba Naxu. “Enough! Stop pretending! What did you mean earlier? Who stole my things? And furthermore—does this world even exist?!”

“You wanted me to be your heart companion, right? Fine! Just tell me what’s going on! I’ll give you the heart companion!”

Li Huowang refused to accept this reality because if everything was a projection, then his parents, Yang Na, and every experience since his release from the hospital were all lies.

He had truly transcended time—he could never return! Everything from before was gone forever!

Hearing Li Huowang’s words, Ba Naxu laughed lightly. “Hmph, you don’t recognize a mountain when you see one. Sorry, I was wrong before. You really did find Qingwang. You’re far crazier than him.”

A flash of white light appeared, and two military knives materialized in Li Huowang’s hands. His pupils trembled, his expression twisted with fury. “Tell me everything you know! Ba Hui! I haven’t finished settling accounts with you yet!”

Ba Naxu snorted coldly, releasing the cigarette end, which burned out and dropped to the floor with a puff of white smoke. “Scaring me with a blade, huh? Don’t try that nonsense with me. When I was killing people and burying bodies, you hadn’t even grown a hair!”

“Don’t pretend anymore! I’ve recognized you already!! You’re Ba Hui! I can feel your familiar gaze!”

“Shut up, you damn fool! One more word—and I’ll make you drop the knife! One, two, three!”

Suddenly, a whistling sound came from beside him. Li Huowang’s instincts screamed danger. Instinctively, he ducked low as a massive glass cabinet swung overhead. If it had hit him, he’d be seriously injured—or worse.

The one wielding the cabinet wasn’t anyone else—it was the large man, Ba Shengqing.

Crouching, Li Huowang turned around and raised his military knife to strike at his thigh. But just then, a sharp pain shot through his back. Even without turning around, he knew it was Ba Naxu’s trickery. Yet he didn’t dodge; instead, he thrust the knife forward, striking to exchange injuries.

Just as blood seemed imminent, a scream stopped both sides. “AAAAAAHHHHHH!! Stop it!!”

Both turned to look and saw Yang Na sitting up, holding a phone wrapped in a Doraemon case. “Qinglai wants to speak to you! He has something to say! Let’s talk it out, no fighting!”

Hearing this, both sides slowly let go.

Li Huowang reached into his waist and pulled out a sharp, needle-like earring.

“Damn it, you’re absolutely insane!” Ba Naxu walked over and took the call. “Hello, Qingzi. You sure are something. You dare take this kind of guy? Did you know I’d come looking for him? So you used him to mess with me, right?”
