Chapter 733: The Mini-game Warcraft III and the World's Nightmare

At this moment, players from both the new and old shops alike were thoroughly engrossed in watching this fresh cinematic trailer.

By now, even a number of patrons at the new shop had gotten their hands on the novel communication jades manufactured by the Wuwei Daoist Alliance, enabling them to spectate even when away from the premises.

A gathering of elves had congregated in the shop's lounge area, each cradling a communication jade in their hands.

The morning sun was just rising, casting ten thousand rays of brilliant light from behind the dawn clouds.

"I have been imprisoned for ten thousand years!" accompanied by a crash of thunder, a deep, resonant voice echoed forth.

"Banished from my own homeland, and now you dare enter my realm? You are not prepared!"

"Wow...!"

"Who is that?" A cluster of assassins spectating from behind chimed in; though the figure had yet to appear on screen, the mere utterance of those words felt...

Immensely grand and sophisticated...

The scene shifted as the blue-skinned Draenei turned the pages of a tome within an exquisite sanctuary inlaid with crystals, where a sacred radiance seemed to shimmer, heralding a brand-new race joining the Alliance in this upcoming expansion.

The sunlight dyed the distant clouds a golden hue, and beneath a red maple tree, a beautiful Blood Elf gently caressed a semi-translucent Mana Wyrm floating before her.

"Ah—! A Blood Elf!" Sala pointed excitedly at the virtual projection of the elf clad in a scarlet priest's robe, crying out, "Can we finally choose Blood Elves?!"

On the battlefield, an Orc warrior swung his blade with all his might before collapsing amidst a hail of arrows, while behind him, a Blood Elf priest raised her staff high, letting the Holy Light descend.

The elves were on the verge of screaming with sheer excitement: "Arise, my champion!"

"Oh my goodness! The Horde can choose elves too!"

...

A desolate wasteland, a brooding sky, and dark green clouds hanging so heavy and gray they seemed ready to crash down.

A downcast demon sat perched upon a mountain peak; it slowly rose to its feet, revealing a physique as powerful as forged steel.

"Who is this one now?!"

"He looks incredibly powerful..." Elina stood behind the group, gasping in admiration as she watched.

The band of assassins was also watching with relish.

"That's Illidan, alright!" Sala expressed her disdain. "How can you not recognize him?"

"Huh? What Illi-dan? How come I didn't know about this!" Several assassins looked utterly bewildered; we've read the official novels and played the game, so why do you know this?

Sala then pulled up a screenshot from her communication jade of a minigame titled Warcraft: "This is a minigame inside 'My Space'. Not only does it have Illidan, but it also features Queen Sylvanas and Arthas!"

"Eh? There's a game like that?!" Looking at the intricately crafted characters on the screenshot, which were starkly different from the virtual reality version of World of Warcraft, they asked, "Why wasn't this put into World of Warcraft?"

Just then, the Illidan in the virtual projection leapt high above the heavy clouds, his demonic wings flaring wide as the pristine moonlight contrasted against his pitch-black demonic aura, his proud eyes looking down: "You are not prepared!"

"My goodness! This person feels so incredibly powerful! How do you play that Warcraft game you mentioned? Can it also increase one's cultivation? I want to play it too!" Elina exclaimed repeatedly.

"Err... that one doesn't increase cultivation." Sala admitted with a touch of embarrassment.

Since playing it didn't grant any cultivation progress... she felt particularly self-conscious introducing it to others...

"Never mind, never mind! I'll play it even if it doesn't increase cultivation!" Elina waved her hand. "Does it really introduce what this 'Illidan' fellow used to do?"

"Yes, it does... and this Warcraft game is remarkably simple." Finding it unexpected that someone would play it despite the lack of cultivation benefits, Sala blanked for a moment before hurriedly introducing the minigame called "Warcraft" to Elina.

"See, this Warcraft is different from World of Warcraft; you have to operate it with a mouse... then you can play the campaign mode, which contains a lot of the lore prior to World of Warcraft. However, you can also play these custom maps, though the only custom map loaded right now is the 'Midnight Pig Butcher' map... which was made by the boss."

"Why does the boss like names like that...?" Elina listened in total confusion to terms like "custom maps" and "campaigns," finding it all very peculiar.

"Where did you find all this stuff anyway...?"

"Chuxue told me about it." Sala replied, "'My Space' has tons of interesting minigames and animations. For instance, this one called 'I Am MT' is absolutely hilarious. Do you want to watch it?"

"Oh, oh... those friends of yours from the Eastern Continent, right." Light dawned upon Elina.

...

Above the Orc Kingdom, the sky now seemed to stretch for ten thousand miles in an ominously dark shroud.

The sky was filled with black crows emitting piercing, shrill cries, as though heralding the arrival of death itself.

On the distant horizon, that darkness poured forth from a rift in the sky.

Spreading like an ocean tide, it instantly consumed the land it passed over, surging in this direction.

The earth upturned, as if a colossal monstrosity hidden deep underground was about to tear through the surface and bore its way out from the profound depths.

The ground was fracturing and collapsing; the defensive magical arrays seemed utterly incapable of offering even a shred of resistance.

At first, only the dark shroud covering the earth could be seen, but their speed seemed to defy the laws of physics, approaching with extreme velocity until they reached the foot of the city walls, revealing that within the shadows lay a terrifying army!

Grand and majestic, a single glance could not find its end; there were at least a hundred thousand of them!

Among their ranks were humans—though not humans from any known region of the Eastern or Western Continents—as well as non-human races.

They possessed vastly different countenances, yet they all shared one thing in common: they wore uniform black armor, their eyes cold and bloodthirsty. They...

"They are the Shadow Legion...?! It's the Shadow Legion!" As the earth shattered, the city walls came crashing down, and countless ordinary Orc soldiers incapable of flight shrieked as they plummeted from the ramparts.

The once-thriving Orc city now seemed to have transformed into a living hell of death!

Within this mammoth city, innumerable non-flying Orcs were swallowed by the yawning chasms of the earth, and by the time... that tremendous quaking of the land ceased, the entire city had been reduced to nothing but a heap of ruins.

Sweeping one's gaze across the surrounding miles, not a single intact piece of ground remained within sight.

Legend had it that wherever this legion set foot, they would turn that world into a barren, scorched earth of death. People had once discovered those planes, only to find skeletons buried beneath a fierce sun and yellow sands; across an entire vast world, there was nothing else left.

Some joined them out of sheer terror, which was why it was unsurprising to encounter any race among them, even Saint-tier powerhouses from humanity.

For they were the nightmare of worlds!
