Chapter 810: Dragon Qi
Chapter 810: Dragon Qi
This time, Ji Zai was not alone. The other Deities of Fate, witnessing his actions, immediately came to his aid.
With each pulsing umbilical cord behind him, Li Huowang's body grew larger and more grotesque.
But soon, a mirror appeared before him out of nowhere, and it seemed to grow stronger in tandem with his own power.
“What… what divine law is this!!”
Just as Li Huowang cried out, he saw himself in the mirror—his own hand reaching into his mouth, pulling out Li Sui. Li Sui’s tendrils writhed helplessly, but to no avail.
“You dare touch my daughter!” With a squeeze of his hands, the opponent’s body flickered like a screen flickering on and off.
In the end, they failed. As the scales that had grown upon Li Sui began to shimmer with golden light, the Li Huowang in the mirror finally released his grip.
Their actions suddenly revealed their weakness—their heavenly law was useless against dragon qi!
Without hesitation, Li Huowang charged forward, slamming his dragon-encased body into them.
As he watched their form disintegrate under his impact, a smile spread across Li Huowang’s face. The advantage was now his. It wasn’t the entanglement of heavenly laws that mattered—it was the dragon qi from mortals that truly held the key!
At that moment, the entire Baiyu Jing began to crack. Li Sui raised the eye orb and moved it slightly, revealing what lay beyond the fissure.
Li Huowang could only see one side, but clearly, there were many more. Voices began to echo in his ears:
“...Ancient moss thick three feet, trod upon, seems thin cotton... Bent figures crawl beneath, touch the aromatic fungi... Ancient roots of old sandalwood, entwined by force... Mounting phoenixes pluck their blossoms, tendrils form ancient smoke…”
When he saw it, Li Huowang suddenly understood. What was this? It was the Great Fate Deity.
Seeing it, Li Huowang finally realized that everything before had merely been a prelude—a means to bring this entity into Baiyu Jing. This was the true threat. It absolutely must not be allowed to come closer!
Li Huowang charged headlong, grabbing the left side with his left hand and the right with his right, desperately trying to pull the cracked Baiyu Jing back together.
Yet no matter how hard he pulled, the gap only widened.
Behind him, a black mass rushed toward him at great speed, attempting to stop him. But other Heavenly Laws Deities were already rushing to intercept them.
Li Huowang’s body stretched longer and longer, resembling a rope, yet he refused to let go.
“Dragon Qi!” A familiar voice rang in his ear—it was the dice. At that moment, he floated like a speck of dust before Li Huowang’s eye.
A thought flashed through Li Huowang’s mind: “Use the dragon qi to mend! Use your true and false heavenly law and your flesh and blood to repair the heavens!”
As Li Huowang’s flesh rapidly mended Baiyu Jing, the fissure began to close. But just as it seemed nearly complete, it stopped—the dragon qi was insufficient.
“Dad, here! This is from within me.” A surge of dragon qi flowed into Li Huowang’s body, and the fissured Baiyu Jing closed once more.
But as Li Sui gave her dragon qi, her body began to sway violently. Everything around her was being torn apart by Baiyu Jing—she was about to die.
“Wait... wait!!” Li Huowang screamed in despair. He wanted to push the qi back, but Li Sui had already left his body.
“Dad, I’m sorry. I’ve always been useless. I could only help you this much. If only I could have helped more…”
“Li Sui, come back!!” In Li Huowang’s collapse, Li Sui’s body began to split apart, falling helplessly and swiftly downward.
“Aaaahhh!!” The fissure in Baiyu Jing rapidly sealed as Li Huowang’s flesh stitched it shut.
Yet, just as the wound closed, a gentle pulse reopened it.
Li Huowang remembered his daughter, and his heart felt as though it were being torn apart. As his body cracked open, pain surged through every fiber of his being. The power of Bahuì poured in through the umbilical cords, causing Li Huowang’s body to swell.
But it still wasn’t enough—mending Baiyu Jing required dragon qi.
At this critical moment, Li Huowang sensed it—abundant dragon qi.
He looked down and saw a six-taloned golden dragon emerging from darkness, accompanied by a group of deformed dragon men. It was Xuan Pin!
In chaos, they spun wildly, as if searching for something.
“I’m going in!” Li Huowang shouted. Xuan Pin and the others found direction and crashed straight into Li Huowang’s body.
Massive amounts of dragon qi flooded into him. His true and false heavenly laws instantly gained substance and began to mend the two halves. With a final push, the fissured Baiyu Jing sealed shut.
When Baiyu Jing had no more cracks, Li Huowang’s body—and everything within it—began to fall.
But he did not vanish. He saw the true and false heavenly laws and eyes above him—they were from Ji Zai. They continued fighting.
“Bang!” Li Huowang crashed heavily into the cold sea.
Perhaps for ordinary mortals, this would be fatal—but for Li Huowang, it was not.
After some time, Li Huowang crawled out of the water onto the shore. His mouth hung open, screaming in despair and hopelessness, tears mingling with saliva dripping onto the ground.
Li Sui was dead. That sinister creature that had followed him since childhood—was gone.
At some point, this creature he had kept by his side, merely to avoid hindrance, had become like family. And now, it was gone.
“Are you alright? What happened?” A hand reached out, helping Li Huowang up.
Hearing the voice, Li Huowang lifted his head eagerly, only to find a familiar face before him—Xuan Pin.
“Not bad at all, really impressive. Because of you, we finally won,” Xuan Pin praised him wholeheartedly.
“Maybe... possibly…” Li Huowang suddenly threw himself at Xuan Pin, tearing off his red robe.
Then, a face he had never seen appeared before him—a handsome young man.
The boy looked at Li Huowang’s excited expression and showed a trace of bitterness.
“In truth, I didn’t want this body either. But a hundred and sixty years ago, when I fell from the sky, I accidentally crushed it.”
As he spoke, Xuan Pin’s face changed, returning to the adorable girl he had once been. Yet her mannerisms and bearing were no longer those of the youthful Li Sui—instead, she carried herself like a dignified noblewoman.
Looking at the stunned Li Huowang, Xuan Pin awkwardly patted his shoulder.
“It’s been so long since we last called each other. I can’t seem to say it now. Um... Dad, are you okay?”
“After I fell from above, I tried to find you. But I discovered that there was no time or date in the heavens—I had fallen over a hundred years into the past. So I waited, waiting for you to return.”
“I actually wanted to reveal myself to you sooner. And I hadn’t forgotten—you needed dragon qi. So I tried to send it to you—”
Xuan Pin didn’t finish. Li Huowang lunged at her, holding her tightly in his arms.
