Chapter 303: A Sea of Fire Covered in Treasures

Chapter Three Hundred and Three: Treasures Scattered Across the Sea of Fire

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

Li Wei stood upon the brink of the inferno, sensing something drawing near with haste within the flames.

He remained on high alert, as if confronting a formidable foe.

Whoosh!

A fish of fire materialized directly before Li Wei.

He paused, stunned for a brief instant.

The firefish vanished in the flicker of an eye.

Instinctively, Li Wei reached out to seize the creature.

Slippery as oil, the firefish slipped through his fingers, fleeing without a backward glance.

Li Wei cast his gaze downward into the sea of fire, his expression turning contemplative.

Could there truly be fish dwelling within the fire sea?

The lifeforms of the Fire Element Plane were indeed wondrous.

The appearance of firefish implied that ground flow sludge might exist within the blaze.

Li Wei hastened to pursue the retreating firefish.

Tracking the beast's trail, he plunged headlong into the heart of the fire sea.

Before his eyes stretched a vast expanse of fiery crimson.

The deeper one went, the more vivid the colors became.

The outer rim of the fire sea was red, descending into orange-red, then orange, while the deepest depths glowed with a blinding, dazzling white.

This sensation made Li Wei feel as though he were swimming within the sun itself.

The sun?

Li Wei hesitated for a fleeting moment.

Could the Fire Element Plane truly be the sun?

He did not know.

Li Wei shook his head, discarding the intrusive thoughts.

It likely was not; many regions of the Fire Element Plane remained relatively normal.

In certain areas, the temperature barely exceeded fifty or sixty degrees.

Were it truly the sun, no place within the Fire Element Plane would fall below a thousand degrees.

This was merely a locale resembling the sun.

No wonder, upon nearing the fire sea, the heat felt overwhelmingly intense.

Venturing deeper into the fire sea, Li Wei sensed the surrounding fire elements growing increasingly frenzied.

Fortunately, he possessed basic fire immunity.

Otherwise, even assuming a fire elemental form to enter here would result in attack and injury.

The fire elements here brimmed with pure destructive intent.

Li Wei found himself unable to absorb them whatsoever.

Instead, he had to expend power to withstand them.

"Hm? What is this?"

Li Wei spotted a sphere of light drifting past in the distance.

He intended to move closer and investigate.

Suddenly, a firefish surged forth, swallowing the sphere of light in a single gulp.

Immediately, its body ignited, writhing and tumbling in agony.

Ultimately, it was reduced to ash.

The death of one firefish did not deter others from devouring the "light".

At last, Li Wei witnessed a firefish consume the light, struggle in pain, yet survive.

Its physique began to swell violently; the old body burned away completely in the flames, the new body reborn from the fire.

In the blink of an eye, a firefish the length of an arm expanded to three or four meters.

Li Wei's expression shifted, surmising that sphere of light might be the ground flow sludge.

He glanced around his surroundings.

"Have we already reached the birthplace of the ground flow sludge?"

"If so, does that mean I am currently deep within the molten slag?"

Li Wei was not entirely certain.

Since becoming a Fire Element Lord, the world perceived by his eyes differed greatly from that of ordinary mortals.

Molten slag, thick beyond measure, appeared to him like water or air.

He could traverse it at will.

Thus, Li Wei could not discern whether he was currently inside the molten slag.

For a normal person, distinguishing this would be effortless.

This was also Li Wei's first time traversing molten slag in the posture of a Flame Lord.

He lacked familiarity with such conditions.

Regardless, the priority was to seize the ground flow sludge first.

Whenever Li Wei sighted a sphere of light appearing, he rushed to snatch it immediately.

He had no idea where the firefish concealed themselves.

Each time ground flow sludge manifested, the firefish managed to claim it before Li Wei could reach it.

Li Wei suspected the firefish possessed the ability to foresee the location of the ground flow sludge.

He kept his eyes fixed on the firefish that failed to consume the ground flow sludge.

He waited until the firefish turned to ash, then struck to claim the prize.

Though the firefish moved swiftly, in combat they were no match for Li Wei.

Li Wei could casually strike down unevolved firefish. Soon, he secured a lump of ground flow sludge.

It was no larger than a thumbnail.

Just as Li Wei grasped it, a massive firefish over three meters long charged toward him.

Divine Dragon Swishes Tail.

A tail whip delivered a resounding slap across Li Wei's face.

Li Wei caught the Big Fire Fish's tail with his backhand, swinging it around like a windmill.

He smashed all the surrounding fire fish into unconsciousness.

One hand gripped the Big Fire Fish's tail, while the other pierced through its body.

He rummaged inside its body, seized a hard object, and pulled it out.

The Big Fire Fish instantly extinguished, meeting its demise.

Li Wei stored the Big Fire Fish's Earth Flow Slime crystal within his own body.

In his current state, he could not use the space ring.

Everything was kept in the hollow cavity within the Flame Lord's body.

That was the only safe place.

The Earth Flow Slime and spirit cores Li Wei harvested were also temporarily stored inside him.

He would put them into the space ring once he left this place.

Li Wei launched attacks everywhere, snatching quite a bit of Earth Flow Slime.

He also dispatched several short-sighted Big Fire Fish, harvesting some Earth Flow Slime crystals.

Compared to pure Earth Flow Slime, the crystals were much easier to preserve.

The luminous Earth Flow Slime began to dissipate even while stored within Li Wei's body.

Helplessly, Li Wei had to feed the hard-won Earth Flow Slime to fire fish, then kill the newly evolved ones to seize their crystals.

Although some Earth Flow Slime was lost, it was better than watching it vanish for nothing.

He was not a fire fish; he could not absorb the Earth Flow Slime directly like they did.

Even in the Flame Lord state, the Earth Flow Slime could not be swallowed.

To Li Wei, it was merely a ball of light.

Later, Li Wei simply stopped snatching the slime, instead chasing down already evolved Big Fire Fish.

Unknowingly, Li Wei drew near the glaring white zone.

The white light was also flame.

But the flame's radiance was too dazzling, its energy too potent.

Li Wei could not see clearly either.

So, before his eyes lay only a sheet of white.

It felt painfully bright.

Upon approaching, Li Wei actually felt a trace of searing, burning pain.

This meant that below, basic fire immunity could no longer safeguard his safety.

The power of the flames within the white light range had exceeded the fifth rank.

Li Wei turned and departed.

Unwilling to draw closer.

Suddenly, a pillar of fire erupted from within the white light.

The dazzling fire pillar spread throughout the sea of flames.

After a while, once the fire pillar released its energy, the light gradually dimmed.

The fire pillar disintegrated, turning into clumps of light drifting in the sea of fire.

Seeing this, Li Wei widened his eyes.

Was this the source of the Earth Flow Slime?

He looked down below in disbelief.

Did this not mean there was countless Earth Flow Slime below?

With so much Earth Flow Slime, why fight over scraps?

Why not just scoop it up directly!

Li Wei felt restless with desire.

Glug glug! Bang!

The Earth Flow Slime erupted occasionally, scattering countless orbs of light across the sea of fire.

It made Li Wei incredibly envious.

The danger was great, but the opportunity was astonishing.

Struck head-on by the erupting fire pillar of the Earth Flow Slime.

Li Wei would lose his skin even if he survived.

Yet he still wanted to dive in and scoop up a huge handful.

Li Wei observed the pattern of the Earth Flow Slime eruptions.

After deducing the pattern, he seized the intervals between eruptions.

He struck decisively.

He directly activated the Green Fire Stance.

He charged headfirst into the Earth Flow Slime.

He took out a space ring and kept pouring things into it without stopping.

He no longer cared that using the space ring here would cause irreversible damage.

As long as he could take the Earth Flow Slime out, damaging even one space ring was worth it!

Another update will be posted this afternoon; today I am too tired, going to rest early.
