Chapter 304: The Upheaval of the Fire Element Plane
Chapter 304: The Turmoil of the Fire Element Plane
Whoosh!
Li Wei burst from the inferno, scrambling onto the rocky nest.
It was the only patch of land.
Carefully, he withdrew the fractured space ring.
He sought to examine its contents.
Inside blazed a searing radiance, obscuring all sight.
Hesitating briefly, Li Wei emptied the ring's contents.
At the very least, he could not remain blind to what he held.
Once everything from the space ring was poured out.
The ambient temperature surged instantly.
Hot winds shrieked.
Only as the heat subsided and the light dimmed could Li Wei discern the objects.
Molten Red Mother Copper.
Interspersed within were flecks of white Earth Flow Slime.
Red Mother Copper could actually halt the dissipation of Earth Flow Slime.
Realizing the copper's utility, Li Wei's eyes brightened, a brilliant idea striking him.
He separated the molten Red Mother Copper.
Some Earth Flow Slime was inevitably lost in the process, yet it was a sacrifice for greater gain.
Using alchemy, Li Wei refined the separated copper into vessels designed to contain the slime.
Thus, he need no longer hunt fire fish to acquire Earth Flow Slime directly.
It conserved vast quantities of slime while enhancing acquisition efficiency.
Since Earth Flow Slime crafted potent elixirs to boost mana, more was always better.
Li Wei spent half a day forging two Red Mother Copper jars.
Though their form was somewhat crude, they could stably hold the Earth Flow Slime.
He tested them with a sample of the slime.
Confirmed that the jars could nearly perfectly preserve the Earth Flow Slime.
Without pause, Li Wei leaped into the fire sea, bearing the two copper jars.
He scavenged for Earth Flow Slime in every direction.
Glug glug!
Li Wei sensed something drawing near.
Assuming it was a fire fish, he paid it little heed.
A thick tentacle seized Li Wei, then he realized the visitor bore ill intent.
Within the fire sea, spiritual energy could not project outward, lest it be scorched.
Li Wei relied solely on the Flame Lord's domain to perceive objects within thirty meters.
The tentacles' length already surpassed thirty meters.
As the tentacle gripped him, Li Wei gazed toward its origin, yet saw no master.
Li Wei strained mightily to wrench free from the tentacle.
From all sides, more tentacles descended, encircling him.
Observing this, Li Wei sped toward the source of the tentacles.
Only upon nearing did he discern the true nature of the beast?
An immensely colossal fire jellyfish.
Its diameter exceeded thirty meters, beneath hung hundreds of tentacles stretching one or two hundred meters.
Like a net, the tentacles snared surrounding life, dragging them into the jellyfish's body to serve as sustenance.
Unluckily entering the jellyfish's strike zone, Li Wei was deemed prey by its tentacles.
The fire jellyfish ranked exceedingly high.
At minimum, a fifth-order monster.
Each tentacle possessed its own independent consciousness.
They were formidable foes, especially in the fire sea where Li Wei's abilities were stifled.
Seeing this, he could only retreat from the fire jellyfish.
Watching the tentacles vanish from his perception, Li Wei exhaled in relief.
"It seems the fire sea harbors not just fire fish, but many other monsters."
Here, fire fish are merely the lowest rung of existence.
Li Wei was fortunate; thus far he had met only two kinds of fire creatures.
Partly because the fire sea was truly vast.
Partly because fire creatures were exceedingly rare.
While the total count was not low, spread across the sea, creatures within any given range were scarce.
Rumble!
Nearby, Earth Flow Slime erupted, prompting Li Wei to rush over.
The eruption's power was overwhelming. Even a sixth-order fire creature struck would suffer grievously.
Thus, near the slime layer, only feeble fire fish could be seen.
Fire fish could sense slime eruptions, evade peril, and consume the slime to evolve.
Evolved fire fish would then become food for other denizens of the fire sea.
A food chain took shape within the fire sea.
Enabling rapid evolution through Earth Flow Slime, sustaining this simple yet intricate chain.
Li Wei stunned several nearby fire fish, sealing a glob of slime into a Red Mother Copper jar.
Suddenly, a violent shockwave struck from behind.
Li Wei's form was instantly obliterated by the terrifying impact.
Fortunately, he existed in a fire elemental state.
Immune to physical attacks.
In moments, the shattered Li Wei coalesced once more, restoring his original form.
He turned his gaze back, beholding the visage of his assailant.
It was a Flame Mantis Shrimp, stretching over a meter in length.
The Flame Mantis Shrimp’s Supercavitation Burst Fist could unleash force sufficient to slay a Fifth-Tier beast with ease.
Aside from its terrifying offensive might.
In all other aspects, its prowess was lackluster, amounting to little more than that of a Third-Tier Magical Beast.
Thus, the Flame Mantis Shrimp was classified among the most perilous Fourth-Tier Magical Beasts.
Seeing Li Wei had not perished, the Flame Mantis Shrimp raised its menacing fist, poised to strike again.
Li Wei would grant it no opportunity for a second assault.
A Fire Step maneuvered him silently behind the Flame Mantis Shrimp.
The Flame Mantis Shrimp turned slowly, intent on striking Li Wei.
Li Wei triggered a surge of latent potential, undergoing a secondary transformation into Blue Flame State.
With a single punch, he tore straight through the creature’s back.
The blue flames seeped through the wound, burrowing deep within the beast’s flesh.
Though the Flame Mantis Shrimp possessed immense fire resistance, it could not withstand the scorching heat erupting from within.
Boom!
The Flame Mantis Shrimp burst apart and perished.
Li Wei claimed a rare Flame Mantis Shrimp Core.
He glanced about, sensing that the number of fiery beasts around him seemed to have increased.
Upon reflection, he realized the creatures themselves had not multiplied.
Rather, he had ventured into an area teeming with them.
Unbeknownst to him, Li Wei had drifted far from the solitary rocky nest amidst the Sea of Flames.
Woooo!
The sound of a conch shell drifted through the air, and Li Wei instinctively turned to look.
Nothing was visible, only the piercing resonance of the conch could be heard.
Swish!
Several Fire Fish darted past nearby, swimming swiftly toward the source of the conch’s call.
Li Wei followed the Fire Fish for a time, noticing numerous fiery beasts drawn by the sound.
They all converged upon the origin of the conch’s melody.
Surprise flickered across Li Wei’s expression.
What lay over there?
Out of caution, Li Wei chose not to investigate, turning instead to depart in the opposite direction.
Emerging from the inferno, Li Wei cast his gaze into the distance.
He spotted a pillar of fire shooting upward into the heavens.
That was precisely the direction countless fiery beasts were heading.
Curiosity overwhelmed Li Wei. “What is happening over there?”
Whoosh!
A massive shadow streaked across the sky; the Fire Bird Garuda soared toward the pillar of flame.
Witnessing this, Li Wei’s curiosity deepened.
He hadn’t expected even the Fire Bird Garuda to make its way there.
Something felt amiss, so he sought to put as much distance between himself and that sky-piercing pillar of fire.
Li Wei pressed forward in the direction opposite the pillar.
After all, his sole objective was to survive until the ten days concluded.
Wherever he went made no difference.
Li Wei had barely taken two steps when his Magic Badge began to vibrate.
To ensure a timely return, Li Wei had kept the badge on his person rather than storing it in his Spatial Ring.
“The situation in the Fire Elemental Plane has changed. The Element Tower will no longer activate the plane teleportation array. All mages are requested to proceed to the fixed teleportation array location within the Fire Elemental Plane and return to the Element Tower independently.”
