Chapter 507: Small World
Chapter 507: A Small World
Clatter!
The void chains rapidly extended and coiled tightly around the core of the void.
The energy of the void had no effect on the chains; instead, it enhanced their power, unlocking a new ability—the infinite extension.
In theory, as long as there was enough void energy, the chains could stretch endlessly.
Click!
Li Wei felt a force transmitted through his palms. Looking up, he saw that the void chains had already bound the entire void core.
"Good, now let's get it out!"
Saint Xi’s dragon mouth opened slightly. Li Wei stood at its edge, gripping a chain shimmering with dark purple light, pulling with all his might.
With a clattering sound as the chain straightened, the void core stuck in Saint Xi’s mouth was gradually pulled out.
Boom!
The heavy void core landed on the snow-covered ground.
Its levitation field instantly pressed down on the surrounding snow, creating a perfectly hemispherical depression.
Liberated from the suppression of divine power, the void energy within the core began to leak once more.
This was a force not belonging to this world—unable to remain here for long.
Afraid that the fluctuations of void energy would attract Balsam, Li Wei quickly opened a teleportation gate to the magic cabin and placed the void core inside.
Thus, the void core would no longer be part of this world.
As soon as the core entered the cabin, the magic cabin underwent a startling transformation.
A vast amount of void energy leaked out, vanishing into thin air before spreading even a meter. The originally cramped space of the cabin—for Saint Xi, already quite narrow—began to expand rapidly.
Li Wei watched as the walls, the sky above, and the earth beneath stretched endlessly outward.
Fed by the immense void energy from the core, the magic cabin carved out a much vaster space within the void.
Only when the leaking energy reached equilibrium did things stabilize.
The void core floated midair, slowly rotating, generating a field that sustained this massive space.
When Li Wei fully extended his spiritual perception, he discovered that the area of the magic cabin had expanded ten thousandfold, and its volume had increased a millionfold.
If he had tried to achieve such a feat using only his own magical power, he doubted even godhood would suffice.
This was the power of the void.
The magic cabin had transformed from a small cube of ten by ten by ten meters into an enormous space measuring a thousand by a thousand by a thousand meters.
It could now truly be called a small world.
However, the interior of this small world remained extremely empty.
Except for a ten-square-meter patch of soil at the center, the rest was still a void of nothingness.
Li Wei gazed at the void core in amazement, never expecting it to possess such incredible potential.
"The magic cabin has grown larger. Saint Xi can come in too."
After ascending to legendary sacred dragon status, Saint Xi had grown to thirty meters in length, far too large for the former cramped cabin.
Li Wei had never found time to expand it himself.
Now, unexpectedly, the void core had solved this problem for him.
Without delay, Li Wei left the cabin. After expending great magical energy to enlarge the portal, he moved Saint Xi inside.
He also brought in some snow, soil, and rocks from outside to fill the empty areas of this nascent world.
But compared to the vast emptiness, what he could bring in was still far too little.
Currently being hunted by Balsam, Li Wei had no time to search for more materials to fill his new world.
After placing Saint Xi inside, he cast a spell to leave behind a surveillance eye.
The magical eye soared into the sky, then turned transparent and vanished into the air. Li Wei closed the cabin door behind him.
Closing the portal, he looked at Saint Xi, who remained unconscious but whose condition had visibly improved, and breathed a sigh of relief.
"Hiding in the magic cabin, Balsam shouldn’t find us. Let’s lie low for a while and go out later."
As for the Ice Emperor and the City of Snow and Ice, Li Wei could no longer afford to care about them.
Balsam was far too powerful—he was no match at all.
The dark purple markings on Saint Xi were gradually fading.
Bound by the void chains, the void core, having consumed excessive amounts of energy, ceased leaking void energy.
Li Wei placed the core high above the small world, away from the ground, to prevent the leaking energy from eroding the surface and affecting the Dragonblood Tree.
Like a purple sun suspended within the small world, the void core emitted a faint violet glow.
Glancing at Saint Xi, who was slowly recovering, Li Wei sat down to meditate and restore his magical strength.
Huff, huff, huff!
Balsam, apostle of the Demon God, followed the scent of void energy to this place.
Boom!
Balsam landed atop a snow-free mountain peak. He looked down at the summit with a puzzled expression.
The trace of void energy ended completely here.
After a moment of concentration, Balsam leapt into the air.
Power gathered between the twin horns on his head, forming a pitch-black orb of energy that seemed ready to devour everything.
Death Ray Roar!
Whoosh!
The black orb struck the mountain peak, instantly expanding hundreds of times in size, engulfing the entire summit.
When the light faded, the mountain looked as though bitten by a giant—its peak gone, leaving behind a massive circular crater.
The surrounding snow had been melted entirely by the tremendous energy, revealing millennia-old permafrost frozen solid beneath.
Balsam glanced down at the ruined landscape with disappointment.
The Death Ray Roar had obliterated everything.
Yet still, there was no sign of the void core. Even the last trace of void energy had vanished in the blast.
He had completely lost track of its location.
Rage burned within Balsam’s heart, yet his face remained eerily calm. He knew anger would change nothing.
Without the void core, transforming the Ice Emperor—who had been steeped in this world’s power for countless years—into a void whale would become impossibly difficult.
His only remaining path was to establish a new void teleportation array.
That would require vast resources—and manpower.
Bassam cast a glance at the enormous gap beneath him, then turned and flew off into the distance.
After a long while, a portal appeared in midair. Levi stepped halfway out of it before realizing there was no ground beneath his feet anymore.
Looking down, he saw an immense circular valley below, as if a meteor had crashed down and carved out a colossal crater.
Soil was exposed now.
Levi immediately understood the reason for Bassam’s furious expression upon seeing this scene.
He paused to sense around and found that the surveillance eye he had placed earlier remained intact. A faint smile crossed his lips.
Summoning the magical eye back to him, Levi witnessed what had happened here after his departure.
A figure with wings on his back streaked across the sky and landed in this place.
Some time later, a tremendous explosion erupted. When the firelight and smoke from the blast dissipated, that figure had vanished without a trace.
Levi knew Bassam must have left without finding the Void Core.
He wondered whether Bassam would vent his anger upon the City of Ice and Snow because of this.
According to Bassam's own words, his goal was merely to assist the Void Emperor in descending into this world—not to destroy it or commit slaughter. Bassam probably wouldn’t expose himself so easily.
Levi turned back toward Saint Shea, who had already awakened, and said, “Saint Shea, you should rest inside for a while. I’ll return to the City of Ice and Snow to take a look.”
Saint Shea nodded weakly.
Closing the portal behind him, Levi flew toward the City of Ice and Snow.
As he approached the city and saw the white snow-covered walls still standing perfectly intact, he let out a slight sigh of relief.
From high above, he observed that within the city, halfway up one of the snowy peaks, a massive trapezoidal altar had been erected.
The altar was built from countless ice crystals stacked together, its surface inscribed with numerous mysterious symbols. Various ritual objects were placed precisely where they belonged.
Crowds gathered around the altar, and atop its highest point stood a woman dressed in azure ceremonial robes.
With just one glance, Levi recognized her—it was Gusewei.
He hesitated slightly. “Has the ceremony already begun?”
“But why is Gusewei leading the ritual? Shouldn’t it be the Ice Queen instead?”
Confusion stirred within Levi.
Suddenly, he noticed several figures standing near Gusewei, and his pupils sharply contracted.
Those were the four powerful paladins who had chased him all the way to the Frozen North.
What were they doing here?
Instinctively, Levi concealed himself and hid.
One of the legendary paladins sensed the gaze from above with uncanny sharpness.
His steady eyes, like those of a divine mountain, swept over the spot where Levi had been—but all he saw was empty sky.
Though aware someone was watching, the paladin paid little heed.
Whoever it was posed no threat to him.
Levi had already descended, cloaked in invisibility, standing atop an icy hut as he gazed toward the altar halfway up the snowy mountain.
As the altar activated with a low humming sound, a pillar of white light burst forth from its summit, shooting straight into the heavens.
“The God of Frost and War Hammers?” Levi mused inwardly.
Seeing the paladins present at the altar filled him with a vague sense of unease.
Sure enough, the beam soon changed. The white column quickly took on a sacred golden hue—the power of light.
The paladins had used holy artifacts to interfere with the ritual, locking the randomly summoned deity onto the Light God.
Gusewei looked up at the sky, her face calm and expressionless.
Originally, according to plan, the sacrificial rite was meant to summon a projection of the God of Frost and War Hammers.
After all, the Frozen North fell under that god’s domain.
But due to interference by the paladins of the Church of Light, the entire ceremony had now become a summoning ritual dedicated solely to their deity.
The Ice Queen could not resist; neither could Gusewei oppose it.
Even though she deeply resented it, there was nothing she could do.
She knew the Church of Light held a grudge against Levi and certainly did not wish for such a thing to happen—but events had spiraled beyond her control.
All she could hope for now was that Levi would stay far away from the City of Ice and Snow—and never return.
Golden feathers drifted down from the sky. People instinctively reached out to catch them, and as each feather touched their palms, it transformed into a warm glow that dispelled the cold.
A figure slowly descended into the mortal realm through the sacred radiance.
When Levi saw that figure, he froze in place.
It wasn’t the Light God.
