Chapter 802: Break
Chapter 802: Break
With a rending cry of flesh and spirit, Li Huowang’s sword blade instantly severed the head of the water monkey before him.
At this moment, both Li Huowang and his opponents were covered in wounds, their battle fierce and brutal.
But it was not enough—far from enough. There were too many of them; there were far too many things infused with dragon essence.
A single man cannot fight four at once. Now, Li Huowang found himself surrounded on all sides by enemies, trapped within the dragon veins that encircled him.
Yet, because death had vanished, none could truly harm the others.
Li Huowang knew that prolonging this struggle would be futile. Though he himself could not die, if they reduced him to nothing more than a human cudgel, he would have lost nonetheless.
These lackeys were not the key. To continue fighting them would serve no purpose. The real target remained the dragon vein known as Ao Mobei!
Carefully estimating the distance between himself and the dragon vein, Li Huowang took a deep breath, gripped the spine sword tightly, and swung it with all his might.
A rift appeared again. His entire body twisted violently, and he dove straight into the rift.
When the stinking seawater was replaced by dim, seven-colored black water, an overwhelming sense of despair and suffocation overwhelmed Li Huowang's heart. Immediately afterward, his flesh began to writhe with strange energy.
Suppressing the unnatural sensations in his body, gritting his teeth, Li Huowang charged toward Ao Mobei’s location. If he couldn’t do anything here, then he would find another way through Da Qi.
If he could align his position with that of the dragon vein in Da Qi and then emerge through the rift, he could skip the process entirely and appear directly inside the creature’s body.
Time was not on his side. Li Huowang acted immediately—he had to return before Ao Mobei moved away.
His speed increased slightly—not due to strength alone, but because webbed appendages were beginning to sprout from his tentacles.
“You think… you think that by not letting me out, you can escape? I’ve always been inside your body. I am also Li Huowang!”
A grotesque face twisted from around Li Huowang’s neck, struggling to break free. “You are already part of me. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have done what you did earlier—lied to me!”
“Get lost! I don’t have time for this!” Li Huowang raised his sword, stabbing and slashing, tearing off a piece of skin. But quickly, another face reappeared as his body writhed anew.
“Useless! Without me, you’re just a puppet manipulated by others!”
“Hey, hey, stop arguing,” a worried monk’s voice echoed in his mind, stepping between the two to mediate.
This time, not only did the monk appear like a malformed tumor on Li Huowang’s back, but Jinshan Zhao Qiu, Bai Shou, and Peng Longteng also emerged from his body. They were suffering—some frightened, some furious, shouting loudly.
“Damn it!” Li Huowang dragged the things growing from his back, rushing toward Ao Mobei’s location.
Finally, he arrived. With a powerful swing of the spine sword, a rift appeared—but it shattered instantly. Something had changed. The rift disappeared the moment it touched the dragon vein, leaving no room for Li Huowang to slip through.
“I won’t believe it!” Li Huowang rapidly slashed the sword, creating multiple rips.
After repeated attempts, one rift briefly held. Li Huowang realized his chance had come.
Since the rift existed, it meant that Ao Mobei’s body wasn’t solid throughout—it had gaps, allowing him passage.
As another rift formed, Li Huowang shifted his body instantly, diving right into it.
The moment he emerged, intense burning engulfed his entire body. This place seemed to be Ao Mobei’s stomach.
“Die!” Li Huowang thrust the spine sword forward with both hands, plunging it deep. In the darkness, scorching liquid splashed across his face.
He licked his tongue and tasted blood—his excitement grew.
Under his control, his tentacles wrapped around various instruments of torture, slicing through the surrounding flesh without resistance. Blood poured out, flooding his body.
Seawater couldn’t drown him, nor could blood. As more holes were torn open, the surroundings trembled violently.
“How does it feel? Never experienced this kind of pain, did you? This is something you never had back there! Enjoy it well!”
Li Huowang gripped the hilt again and drove the sword down, sliding it sideways to slice off a chunk of flesh the size of a table.
Outside, it was their domain. Here, inside, it was Li Huowang’s domain. Until he completely dismantled the beast, he had no intention of leaving.
Just as he continued hacking away at the flesh, a hole suddenly burst open beside him. A water monkey with scales stuck to its face crawled out, lunging toward Li Huowang.
And this was merely the beginning. As the water monkey fell beneath Li Huowang’s blade, more enemies poured from the opening, blocking further damage to the dragon vein.
What had happened outside now replayed itself inside.
But compared to before, Li Huowang now seemed far more composed.
After all, fighting in someone else’s body meant victory was inevitable.
The mixture of seawater and blood, along with the dim lighting, made everything hard to see.
Just as he pulled another sinister head from his body, the left side of the blood began to churn. A grayish-white, slimy mass, thick like a tree trunk, crashed toward him.
Its slick surface cracked open, revealing a spiral mouth sealed shut from top to bottom.
Darkness spewed from its nostrils, moving at incredible speed, slamming into Li Huowang and sending him flying.
In the direction he flew, the flesh tore apart, propelling him rolling over ten zhang before he landed outside Ao Mobei’s belly.
When Li Huowang steadied himself in the cold sea, he was once again surrounded by those who had absorbed dragon essence.
But unlike before, Ao Mobei’s body was gravely wounded. Its once-fleshly exterior had shriveled, riddled with countless wounds of varying sizes. No matter how much it writhed, the injuries refused to heal.
Looking at the strange thing slowly retracting into its body, Li Huowang hesitated before asking, “Are you really not the same as before?”
The outside was rotting flesh, yet the inside was completely different—a contradiction.
“Could it be that since you haven’t died, you’ve gradually mutated into this form during the long process?” Li Huowang guessed wildly.
Ao Mobei ignored him. Crowds of devoted followers once again covered his body, with creatures bearing scales on their faces charging toward Li Huowang endlessly.
Just as Li Huowang prepared to repeat his strategy, a large group on his left suddenly parted as a mass of white-tipped bloody flesh crashed through.
“That’s... the Lion Dance Palace? How did he return?”
Before Li Huowang could understand, the bloody mass clung to his body.
