Chapter 264: Tier 3 Shadow Servant

Chapter 264: Third-Order Shadow Servant

Valen spoke with Li Wei for a while, attempting to ease his worry and tension.

Only Li Wei himself knew the truth of his situation.

What he needed to worry about was not the countless undead.

His only concern was a single "Legendary Lich."

After exchanging words with Valen, Li Wei roughly understood the recent changes within the Element Tower.

"Thank you for your concern, Mentor Valen."

"I haven't thought too much about it; anyway, if the sky falls, the tall ones will hold it up; it is not yet my turn to worry."

Li Wei said with a smile.

Valen chuckled and said, "It is good to have such a mindset."

"Eat when you should, drink when you should, do what you must; worrying so much is useless."

"Alright, go back and rest; cultivating continuously for seven days must have tired you out."

"Mm, then I will take my leave first," Li Wei said.

Leaving the study, he returned to his room.

The maid Diana had prepared hot water for Li Wei to bathe.

After Li Wei finished bathing, she had already prepared delicious food.

"Thank you."

"No need for courtesy; this is my duty."

Li Wei asked with some curiosity, "Diana, have you ever fought?"

Diana replied, "No."

"After I was created by Master, I have always stayed within the Element Tower, never encountering danger, nor was there ever a time I needed to fight."

Li Wei nodded, "That is quite good too."

After dinner, Li Wei used a specially crafted magical text scroll in his room to send the written novel manuscript to the Spark Literature Society.

The manuscripts were all written during boring times inside the Temple of Light.

The Shadow Servant crawled into the room through the window.

Li Wei glanced at him and asked, "Did you find anything?"

The Shadow Servant had been keeping watch for seven days.

The Shadow Servant shook his head and said, "No."

Li Wei's eyes shifted slightly, "Did the thief not come, or was the Shadow Servant discovered?"

He scanned the Shadow Servant, feeling that his current strength was a bit weak.

The Shadow Servant was still at the peak of the second order.

Recently, influenced by the news of the impending undead, many figures of nightmares had appeared in the dreams of the Floating City.

This happened to be just right to help the Shadow Servant improve his strength a bit.

"Leave that side for now; you improve your strength first."

At night, Li Wei dove into the dream world.

After being cursed by the Evil God, this was the first time walking out of the safe house.

Li Wei raised his head to look at the sky.

One hundred and seven huge stars of varying colors hung high in the sky.

Every star was like an eye of the night sky.

Looking toward the distance, a crimson star stood at the end of the long river of dreams, immense and huge.

Li Wei guessed that perhaps when the Great Dream Wandering Technique rose to the fourth order, he could touch the crimson star.

By then, he would know what exactly the stars in the sky were.

Lowering his head to overlook the first layer of the dream world.

Countless dream bubbles arose and perished in transformation.

A huge dream vortex constantly swallowed the surrounding dream bubbles, within which gray figures were constantly born.

Every gray figure was a nightmare.

This huge nightmare vortex was the nightmare vortex of the Floating City.

In the center of the nightmare vortex, there was a stable dream bubble, situated within the nightmare vortex yet not fused with it.

Li Wei had seen similar bubbles before.

The headquarters of the God Wandering Society was built within such a dream bubble.

And since this was the territory of the Element Tower, Li Wei could not help but think there were powerful dream weavers within the Element Tower.

This did not seem particularly strange.

After all, the Element Tower gathered the most excellent element-type mages in the world.

Among these people, more or less there would be some able to contact dream wanderers and become dream wanderers.

The Element Tower had existed for so many years.

They should have conducted some research on dreams.

It was just that Li Wei was uncertain to what level the Element Tower's understanding of dreams had reached.

Did they know of his existence?

Li Wei scanned the surroundings; the endless water surface was empty.

It seemed that within the entire fourth layer of the dream world, only he existed. "Dream Wandering."

Li Wei took the Shadow Servant into the nightmare vortex of the first layer of dreams.

Opening his eyes, he woke up in the bedroom of the manor.

He walked to the window and looked outside; the sky was a pitch-black chaos, without stars or moon.

Li Wei knew this was the dream world.

The manor was empty, without any living creatures, only scenery from memory.

Kuro and Diana had also become true dolls, standing in the corner motionless, lost of life.

Outside the door, the streets were also unusually quiet.

Different from the vast majority of nightmare dreams Li Wei had seen before.

The nightmares within the Floating City were exceptionally hidden.

Even the nightmares seemed to be wary of something.

The city lay silent, yet the number of nightmares within the dream was far from few.

Levi walked a few steps, only to hear screams emanating from a house nearby.

Drawing closer, he saw a nightmare slaughtering the master of the house.

The nightmare gave the human a chance to flee, then extinguished hope bit by bit, extracting more despair.

The master of the house died in despair.

The nightmare greedily absorbed the power of nightmare, wearing an expression of enjoyment.

The Shadow Servant leaped forward.

Claws of shadow tore through the nightmare's body from behind.

Attacked, the nightmare reacted instantly, turning to grapple with the Shadow Servant.

Minutes later, the Shadow Servant slew the dream entity, claiming the nightmare core.

"The level of nightmares within the Floating City is somewhat high; any random encounter is a Tier Two nightmare."

Levi remained within the Shadow Servant, hunting nightmares in the Floating City dream.

One night passed.

The Shadow Servant leveled up, becoming a Tier Three Intermediate Nightmare.

It gained a new skill, "Shadow Stealth."

Levi tossed a Tier Four Nightmare Core to the Shadow Servant.

"After digesting this nightmare core, you should advance to Tier Three Advanced."

Digesting a Tier Four Nightmare Core was not an easy task for the Shadow Servant.

It would require some time.

The Shadow Servant swallowed the Tier Four Nightmare Core, retreated into its own core, and digested slowly.

Levi exited the dream world.

Opening his eyes, he saw it was already day outside the window.

After breakfast, Levi went to the St. Vilia Library in the Element Tower.

He intended to learn new spells.

Halfway there, he encountered Baraha.

He asked curiously, "Levi, where have you been these past days? Why haven't you come to class for so long?"

Levi said, "Teacher Sean doesn't lecture anyway, isn't it the same whether we go or not?"

Baraha said, "That is true; as a teacher, Archmage Sean is indeed somewhat incompetent."

"Sleeping in every day, rising later than those outside, neglecting his duties all day, and not lecturing..."

"Ahem... ahem..."

Levi saw a figure and coughed twice quickly, reminding Baraha who was criticizing Sean.

Only after speaking did Baraha realize belatedly.

Looking back, he saw the figure of Sean.

Sean looked at him, saying nothing.

Baraha's scalp went numb.

He stammered, "Ah... um... Teacher... I have something to do... I'll leave first."

Baraha hurriedly slipped away.

Leaving Levi alone with Sean.

The two walked toward the Element Tower.

Sean said as they walked, "Levi, after the year-end exam ends, you should transfer to another magic class."

"Mm."

Levi asked curiously, "Teacher Sean, why do you not lecture?"
