Chapter 427: Conditions Gathered
Chapter 427: Conditions Met
Li Wei followed Torresta to the seventh level.
The seventh level was dim and lightless.
Like a cage that would never see daylight again.
In fact, it was exactly that—a cage.
A prison specially prepared by Torresta to confine the Fire Dragon Soul.
Inside the cage, the Fire Dragon Soul suddenly sensed Li Wei's presence and felt an overwhelming surge of excitement.
Damn! That human has finally come!
He’s finally found me.
A strange glimmer flickered in the eyes of the Fire Dragon Soul.
As long as he could lure that human over and seize control of his body, he could escape this cursed place.
I’m finally getting out of here.
The Fire Dragon Soul was beside itself with joy.
It hurried toward the exit of its prison.
But when it reached the entrance, something seemed off.
Why was that old guard coming too?
Could they be working together?
No matter—it didn’t matter who it was, as long as he could escape this place.
Once inside the seventh level, Li Wei also felt the dragon blood within him becoming more active.
Torresta glanced at him and said with a smile, "You’ve accepted the power of that red dragon?"
Li Wei nodded. "Mm."
Torresta said, "No wonder the red dragon became so excited upon sensing your arrival."
Li Wei’s heart stirred slightly, and he quickly asked, "Is there something wrong with the power inside me?"
Torresta replied, "Nothing’s wrong. Its dragon soul is imprisoned here—no matter how powerful it may be, it can't affect the outside world."
"But since you carry its bloodline, it will find it much easier to possess your body."
Li Wei’s lips twitched. Nothing wrong?
So the red dragon really wasn’t a good guy.
He coveted just a bit of its dragon blood power,
while it coveted his entire body.
Li Wei shook his head. Now he had no qualms whatsoever about performing the necromantic ritual on the red dragon’s soul.
Earlier, he’d still felt somewhat guilty.
After all, the red dragon had given him benefits.
Doing this might seem like repaying kindness with betrayal.
But now, all such thoughts were gone.
Li Wei and Torresta arrived before the prison cage.
Suddenly, a ball of flame emerged from the darkness, transforming into a massive fiery dragon head that stared at the two outside.
Seeing Li Wei and Torresta standing peacefully together, the red dragon grew suspicious.
Still, it did not change its original plan.
This was its only chance to escape.
Torresta extended his hand and said, "I’m going to open the cage. Are you ready?"
Li Wei nodded. "Ready. It’s not my first time."
The last monster that tried to invade his body and take it over had been reduced to ash—
Not even dust remained.
Torresta gave him a glance and thought to himself: What have you been through?
He didn’t dwell on it and reached out to open the cage.
The moment the cage opened just a crack, the red dragon soul squeezed out eagerly, swiftly diving into Li Wei’s body in an attempt to possess it.
But the instant it entered Li Wei’s body, it froze.
What kind of place was this?
Wasn’t this supposed to be a human body?
Li Wei had already transformed into pure elemental form, maintaining his outward appearance through illusion magic.
When the red dragon soul dove into his body, it plunged directly into the elemental furnace Li Wei had constructed for it.
A furnace formed from temperatures reaching millions of degrees and governed by intermediate-level fire laws—this became the new prison for the red dragon soul.
Realizing something was wrong, the red dragon soul tried to flee.
But the moment it touched the walls of the elemental furnace, its soul was seared by intense pain.
"Aaargh!"
The red dragon soul let out a furious roar from within Li Wei’s body.
The sea of Li Wei’s consciousness surged violently under the impact of that roar.
His very soul trembled.
Yet, it still wasn’t enough to pose a real threat to Li Wei.
Torresta glanced at Li Wei and asked, "Are you sure you can handle this? If not, I’ll step in. Though my remaining strength isn’t much, it should still be enough to contain a dying dragon soul."
Li Wei looked at Torresta’s increasingly translucent body, on the verge of vanishing.
He shook his head and said, "No need. I can handle it."
"I’m heading to the Secret Realm of the Dragonfall Slope."
"Mm. Be careful on the way," Torresta cautioned.
Li Wei nodded, and with Torresta’s help, he was instantly transported outside Mapleleaf City.
He rushed toward the Dragonfall Slope at top speed.
He located the weak point of the secret realm he had previously marked.
Then he cast a spell.
"Space Rending Technique!"
Rip!
The fragile space connecting the secret realm to the main world tore violently asunder.
A rift burst open, forging a pathway into the depths of the Dragon Fall Slope.
Levi stepped forward with a brisk, unhesitating stride and entered.
The moment his figure crossed the threshold, the spatial fissure rapidly dissolved into nothingness.
A patrol mage, arriving just a breath too late, caught only the fading glimpse of the closing rift and immediately reported the anomaly to the Mage Association.
Levi set foot within the Dragon Fall Slope secret realm.
He cast a sweeping glance over his surroundings, noting that little had changed since his last visit.
Without a moment's delay, he flew directly toward the innermost sanctuary of the realm.
Yet, a massive anti-flight barrier enveloped the Dragon Fall Slope, stretching everywhere above the forest canopy.
Levi was forced to skim low to the ground, his speed significantly diminished.
He summoned the little bone dragon into the open air.
"Unleash your dragon fear."
The little bone dragon let out a sharp, youthful roar, sending a wave of draconic pressure rippling through the woods.
A rumbling tremor echoed as the beasts, magical creatures, and dragon-blooded entities lurking in the surrounding forest felt the oppressive aura and fled in sheer terror.
The little bone dragon peered about curiously, taking in the unfamiliar sights.
Levi snatched it up quickly, ensuring it wouldn't wander off or fall behind.
"Stop looking around, you'll have plenty of time later."
Levi glanced down at the little bone dragon, unable to discern any uniquely maternal traits.
After all, bones generally looked the same.
As the little bone dragon continuously radiated its terrifying aura, every beast and magical creature along Levi's path retreated in haste.
Though dragon-blooded creatures would normally ambush any living being carrying a trace of dragon blood to plunder it, they would never dare strike at a true member of the dragon race.
The mere presence of the dragon fear caused them to tremble from the very depths of their lineage, paralyzing their ability to act.
Before long, Levi arrived at the absolute depths of the secret realm with the little bone dragon in tow.
Locating a well-concealed cavern, he guided the creature inside.
At the sight of the dead red dragon's corpse, the little bone dragon bared its teeth and bristled with ferocity.
Levi was somewhat surprised by this reaction.
After a brief moment of reflection, the reason became clear to him.
Red dragons belonged to the faction of the five-colored evil dragons, serving the Demon Dragon King during the great schism that tore the race apart a millennium ago.
The mother of this little bone dragon, however, had belonged to the Holy Dragon King's faction.
Dragons routinely passed down memories and instincts to their offspring through the hereditary memory bound within their bloodlines.
Evidently, the little bone dragon had inherited an innate hatred for the five-colored evil dragons.
It was easy enough to understand.
After all, its mother had perished at the hands of the Demon Dragon King.
It was only natural that her dying malice would be transmitted to her descendant.
Levi patted the little bone dragon's head, telling it to calm down.
He then turned his attention to examine the cavern.
Levi discovered that the magic circles covering every inch of the cave were, in fact, the arrays required for the Impure World Reincarnation ritual.
He then looked toward the spot where the red dragon's corpse was anchored.
It was precisely where the dragon carcass needed to be positioned for the reincarnation rite.
A smile touched Levi's lips.
"It seems Torresta had prepared for the little bone dragon's resurrection long ago."
