Chapter 800: Ao Mojie

Chapter 800: Ao Mo Jie

The tremor of the temple and the growing aura of terror became unbearable. Soon, Li Huowang understood what was happening from the abnormal flow of water and shouted urgently to the others, “Get out quickly! This temple is sinking!”

The Dragon King Temple had now broken free from the cliff face and was plummeting deeper into the abyss.

They were now in the deepest part of the sea trench, and if they continued falling, who could say where they would end up!

Moreover, that terrifying aura growing stronger was clearly coming from the depths of the ocean!

When the temple began to behave strangely, the followers of Aojing and the Wushi Palace, led by Li Huowang, rushed toward the exit.

Meanwhile, the headless corpses, the incoming fishermen, and the water monkeys outside surged in recklessly, trying to trap them inside the temple. One moment they wanted to escape, the next they tried to hold them back—both sides were locked in a deadly stalemate.

With a thunderous crash, black debris flew everywhere. Li Huowang, half stuck to the Wushi Palace, dragged them out from the roof.

He didn’t pause for breath. Looking down, he saw a pitch-black void from which the terrifying aura emanated. Rolling waves of heat came like breath, one after another.

The creaking Dragon King Temple slowly sank into it, swallowed entirely by the darkness with no trace left behind.

Seeing this, Li Huowang finally exhaled in relief. It was fortunate that they had escaped at the last second—otherwise, he couldn’t even imagine what stomach he might have ended up in.

After watching cautiously for a while, seeing nothing emerge from the darkness to attack him, he let out a sigh of relief.

Li Huowang shifted his gaze upward. Clearly, such a commotion had disturbed everything above.

There was almost no seawater above them anymore. Various creatures darted through the darkness like a massive lid covering their heads.

Looking down at the two dragon veins wrapped in writhing worms, Li Huowang gritted his teeth and charged ahead, leading everyone toward the lid, determined to burst through it.

Though these unknown beings were terrifying in strength, they were no match for Li Huowang. He was no longer the naive young monk who had emerged from Qingfeng Monastery.

Spine swords slashed through rifts in history, severing anything they touched. The strange liquid oozing from those cracks twisted and deformed everything it touched.

That grotesque mass made of flesh, white tendrils, and worms devoured everything within reach like a deep-sea shark. Mortal bodies crumbled before them like paper.

They fought their way forward until they reached the depth where the Dragon King Temple should have been.

Just as Li Huowang thought they were about to surface, the sky above suddenly parted, revealing a hazy surface.

In the next instant, a vast shadow covered the blurry water. A black mass larger than a mountain roared down upon them.

“Watch out!! It’s coming!” Li Huowang warned the others while preparing himself fully.

But as it drew closer, Li Huowang’s mouth fell open in shock. He had misjudged—it wasn’t just like a mountain; it *was* a mountain! “Move aside quickly!”

It was too late to warn anyone. All escape routes were blocked by the giant mountain. This place was a sea trench—there was nowhere to hide.

At this critical moment, Li Huowang leapt in front of the peak and raised both hands high, pressing firmly against the summit. “Everyone behind me!”

As soon as he spoke, the rock beneath his hands began to change. The hard stone softened rapidly, turning into soft, white tofu.

Li Huowang crushed the stone tofu easily, revealing the rock underneath. That too transformed into tofu, forming a deep inverted well of tofu.

With Li Huowang holding up the mountain from above, the Wushi Palace and the Aojing believers below remained safe, unharmed.

Eventually, when Li Huowang dug a tunnel all the way from the peak to the base, he finally freed himself from the crushing weight of the mountain.

Hearing the booming sound from the abyss below, Li Huowang knew the mountain had likely plunged into the darkness. Whatever lay there must have taken a beating.

But before he could celebrate, a chilling presence rose from beneath.

Then, accompanied by a wave of heat, a mass of rotting flesh mixed with dragon scales descended from below directly toward Li Huowang.

Li Huowang retaliated instantly, swinging his Spine Sword downward. Several spatial rifts shot toward the mass.

The next moment, the mass collided with the rifts. Those once-cleaving rifts shattered like glass.

Li Huowang quickly shifted his body, barely dodging the blow. When he steadied himself underwater, he finally saw the creature's form.

Li Huowang had seen it before—it was the image on the altar in the Dragon King Temple, Ao Mo Jie.

“It... it’s actually down there?! This deity is down there?” The thought barely formed in his mind when the malformed, blood-soaked flesh lunged at him.

Seeing Li Huowang under attack, the worms and white tendrils rushed in, but their strikes had no effect. Instead, upon contact, both the tendrils and worms detached from their bodies and stopped moving.

Li Huowang realized their origin immediately. “Be careful! This thing has absorbed dragon energy from the veins! Ordinary powers won’t work!”

If it could completely ignore the rifts, then this creature was definitely dangerous.

Before he finished speaking, the creature was already upon him again. Its tentacles whipped wildly, barely missing him.

As they passed each other, Li Huowang grabbed a scale the size of a face and yanked it off.

The scale tore away, but behind it was a bizarre triangular head with two fangs. It bit down hard on Li Huowang’s hand.

Li Huowang gripped it tightly with both hands and crushed the head.

He took a deep breath, staring at the mass before him. The Wushi Palace and Aojing followers wouldn’t be much help against this.

Li Huowang tossed the captured dragon vein behind him. “You take this and retreat! I’ll hold them back!”
