Chapter 423: Return to the Element Tower

Chapter 423: Return to the Elemental Tower

Li Wei and Victor concluded their discussion.

He said, "For safety's sake, let us sign a magical pact."

Victor did not obstruct this matter further.

After both parties signed the magical pact,

Li Wei finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Putting away one copy of the magical pact, Li Wei handed the amethyst core to Victor.

Victor accepted the amethyst core with an expressionless face.

For this single amethyst core, he had paid no small price.

But it was alright; as long as they could verify that this method could eliminate the side effects within the amethyst core,

All these costs would be worth it.

In the future, more amethyst cores without side effects could be produced.

The overall strength of the mages in the Spatial Tower would rise by a notch.

Having obtained the amethyst core, Victor didn't want to look at Li Wei even once, fearing he might explode from anger.

He turned around and left.

Li Wei waved and called out, "Goodbye."

"Remember to send me the amethyst core potion early."

Victor remained unmoved.

Li Wei shook his head. "No sense of magnanimity at all, sigh~"

He smiled and turned toward the exit.

When leaving the fourth floor, he encountered a minor issue.

He was stopped by the gatekeeping magical automaton, which claimed he had taken something from the Spatial Tower and refused to let him leave.

He had to hand over the item.

This even alarmed the on-duty mage.

In the end, Victor had to be summoned before Li Wei could safely leave the fourth floor.

When seeing Li Wei off, Victor wore a sour expression,

His face full of displeasure.

Li Wei loved watching him like this—frustrated yet unable to do anything about it.

Who told him to threaten himself earlier?

After the exchange competition ended, everyone collected their rewards and gradually prepared to return.

Walking along the way, Li Wei met Erica.

Erica greeted Li Wei, "Hi Li Wei, congratulations on getting first place."

"Erica, thank you," Li Wei replied.

She asked curiously, "What does the Book of Truth look like? What's inside?"

Li Wei gave a brief description.

Erica nodded, seemingly understanding but also not quite grasping it.

Those who hadn't encountered the Book of Truth couldn't truly comprehend Li Wei's description.

To this, Li Wei had no better explanation.

"Erica, let's go."

A tall man walked over and spoke.

Li Wei looked back and recognized him as one of the leading elders of the Alchemy Tower.

"Yes, teacher,"

Upon hearing this, Erica hurriedly bid farewell to Li Wei and ran behind her teacher.

She appeared extremely obedient to her teacher.

Erica's teacher looked down at Li Wei with a smile. "You're Li Wei?"

Li Wei nodded and responded, "Yes, greetings, senior."

"No need for formalities. I'm Rox, Erica's teacher." Rox removed his hat and said.

Rox was probably over two meters tall; Li Wei had to tilt his head up to see his face.

His age seemed rather young.

However, being able to become a leading elder of the Alchemy Tower meant his power must be formidable, and his actual age likely far exceeded his appearance suggested.

Perhaps it was just an illusion,

But looking at the flaxen curls atop Rox’s head, Li Wei felt as if those hairs were moving—as though alive.

Rox took out a card from his hat and handed it to Li Wei, then put his hat back on.

"If you have the chance, come find me at the Alchemy Tower. Erica speaks highly of you," Rox said.

Out of politeness, Li Wei reached out to take Rox's card.

Ding!

The moment he touched the card, Li Wei's invisible armor activated.

His movement paused. Looking down, beneath the card, a strand of flaxen curl attempted to burrow into his finger.

Instantly, Li Wei's expression changed. He stared warily at Rox.

Seeing this, Rox chuckled, retrieved the card, and placed it back in his pocket.

"It seems the little fellow still has some vigilance. What a pity."

He openly scrutinized Li Wei without restraint.

"What a fine specimen material."

"Hahaha, we'll meet again. Let's go, Erica."

"Yes, teacher."

Rox departed with Erica.

Throughout, Li Wei kept a vigilant eye on Rox.

Just now, Rox had tried to do something to Li Wei, but was blocked by the invisible armor.

Rox hadn't expected Li Wei to wear a magical shield continuously.

A normal mage would never maintain a magical shield within a safe zone.

After all, the shield constantly consumed mana.

He hadn't expected Levi to be so cautious.

He had originally intended to collect some of Levi's blood as a sample, but unfortunately failed.

Levi watched Rox disappear down the street.

He looked down at his fingers.

Protected by the invisible armor, his fingers were unharmed.

He also didn't know what would happen if that hair had pierced his finger.

Now he understood—his previous feeling hadn't been an illusion.

Rox's hair was some kind of living creature, like an insect.

The very thought made him nauseous.

Levi couldn't help but feel a chill run down his spine, a sense of unease creeping into his heart.

Erika's teacher, Rox, was truly extraordinary!

Who knew what kind of experiments he had conducted to turn his own hair into something insect-like.

Levi shook his head, casting away the extraneous thoughts.

Emptying his mind, he walked toward the Elemental Tower's base.

Erith smiled when he saw Levi return and asked, "How did it go? Any gains?"

Levi forced a smile. "Pretty significant."

Erith noticed Levi's expression and his smile faded.

He glanced around and whispered, "What happened?"

Levi recounted his encounter with Rox to Erith.

"Rox? I'm not familiar with him. I've never heard of this person. He might be a newly appointed elder from the Alchemy Tower in recent years," Erith said.

"Judging from your description, he's probably a biological alchemist who has performed some form of bio-alchemical modifications on himself."

"But since his attack failed, you don't need to worry too much. He won't dare to act rashly against you."

"After all, you're currently the focus of everyone's attention. If anything happens to you, Rox won't be able to escape responsibility."

Erith tried to comfort him.

Levi nodded. It wasn't that he feared being targeted.

He simply felt somewhat disheartened.

He had originally hoped to befriend Erika's teacher.

Instead, he turned out to be an enemy.

Herith glanced at Levi and said to the group, "Alright, everyone's here. Prepare to return to the Elemental Tower."

"Oh, we can finally go back!"

The group couldn't help but cheer.

Staying in the Spatial Tower was ultimately less comfortable than being in the Elemental Tower.

Everyone was eager to return.

Under Herith's lead, the group used the Spatial Tower's world teleportation array to return to the Elemental Tower.

After returning to the Elemental Tower, Levi spent two quiet days familiarizing himself with the intermediate fire element rules.

Once he became more accustomed to his new abilities, he began contemplating his next plan.

He had already mastered the Space Rending Technique.

He could now return to Mapleleaf City and venture into the Dragonfall Secret Realm to retrieve the dragon corpse.

Since he was going back to Mapleleaf City anyway, he might as well bring the Dragon Soul with him.

Otherwise, making another trip just for the Dragon Soul would be a waste of time.

With both the dragon corpse and the Dragon Soul, Levi could perform the Impure World Reincarnation on the little bone dragon, obtaining a true dragon.

Thus achieving freedom in dragon blood and dragon-blooded plants.
