After failing to poison and knock out Li Wei, the three men prepared to forcibly beat him unconscious and take him away.

Li Wei lowered his eyes, looking at the man in the middle of the three, and spoke in a deep voice: "Speak. Who sent you to find me? What is your purpose?"

Feeling the overwhelming pressure from Li Wei, the man being stared at already felt his bladder threatening to give way.

He endured the strange sensation and hurriedly replied: "It was the boss who sent us to find you. The boss only said to bring you back, but didn't say why."

Li Wei looked at the three men and asked: "Do you have an antidote?"

One of them quickly shook his head and said: "No, the boss only gave us the poison, no antidote."

They were not the beast-hide footwear typically seen in the City of Ice.

In that stark realization, the truth finally dawned upon him.

"I will speak! I will tell you everything!" the orc chieftain shrieked in a panic.

His confession poured out like beans spilling from a tipped bamboo tube, rattling forth in a frantic, unceasing rush.

"The Ice Queen commanded us to hunt for fugitives wanted by the Church of the Holy Light, telling us to watch for any outsiders in the City of Ice, and promised great rewards and honors to anyone who brought them before her."

"Right now, the entire city is looking for you."

Levi was not surprised by the revelation.

He asked, "The people who went to see the Ice Queen a few days ago—who exactly were they from the Church of the Holy Light?"

Levi suspected they were the very same pursuers who had been snapping at his heels.

The distance had been too great during the chase for him to discern their true identities.

The orc chieftain answered in a desperate hurry, "Paladins, four lords of the Holy Paladins."
