Chapter 700: Believe You
Chapter 700: Believe You
Feeling his limbs tightly bound to the chair with thick ropes, Qian Fu’s face turned ashen with fear. His eyes were wide open, lips devoid of any color.
If he had been kidnapped by ordinary criminals, whether for money or some other reason, there would at least be a motive. But this man was clearly insane!
He had heard Li Huowang's story and knew that this man had already taken several lives in his hands! Now that he had tied him up, what exactly did he intend to do? The thought alone was too terrifying to even dare entertain.
Qian Fu looked around nervously, searching for any glimmer of hope.
This place seemed like an abandoned, dilapidated house—whether it was a half-finished building or something else, it didn’t matter. But regardless, seeking help from anyone else was out of the question. He could only rely on this madman for salvation.
“Li—” Qian Fu barely managed to utter one syllable when he felt five fingers clamping tightly onto his throat. “Shut up!”
Seeing that Qian Fu obediently fell silent, Li Huowang continued with his work.
Only after completely tying up the man, leaving no chance for escape, did Li Huowang finally let out a breath of relief.
He stood up and took another look at the man before him.
“Li Huowang, stay calm. You must stay calm. Don’t do anything you’ll regret for the rest of your life!”
“Shut up!” Li Huowang grabbed a cloth and stuffed it directly into the man’s mouth. For a moment, the room finally grew quiet.
Looking at Qian Fu, Li Huowang felt a sharp headache. When could it have happened? Why now, of all times, did he switch to his second personality?
Fortunately, he had brought along some tools before coming here, just in case. Otherwise, things might not have gone so well.
Staring at Qian Fu, Li Huowang was unsure of what to do next.
Having a mentally ill ally was already enough trouble; but this particular patient had episodes that came out of nowhere—it was truly torturous.
After thinking for a while, suddenly Li Huowang reached out and tore off the cloth covering Qian Fu’s mouth. “I ask you—how often does your personality shift? What triggers such a change?”
Hearing these words, Qian Fu was stunned for a moment, then realization dawned upon him. He finally understood what was going on. “It was him who asked you to save him? All of this was ordered by him?”
Then, Qian Fu leaned forward excitedly and shouted, “Li Huowang! He’s a lunatic! He’s just a madman! How can you believe the nonsense he spouts?! Everything he says is lies! It’s all made up!”
“Your life is still long! Don’t let this madman fool you! If you continue like this, your condition will only get worse! Think about your family who worry about you! Your classmates and teachers!”
“Whoosh!” Li Huowang thrust his dagger toward Qian Fu’s neck, its blade slicing through skin and drawing a drop of blood. His eyes fixed fiercely on the bearded man. “Don’t lecture me! I’m not sick! I’ve gotten better!”
“And don’t give me irrelevant answers! Answer my questions! Tell me—how often does your personality shift?! What are the conditions for switching personalities?!”
Feeling the pain on his neck, Qian Fu dared not provoke Li Huowang further and quickly answered honestly, “I don’t know. After each personality switch, I lose large chunks of memory. I appear somewhere without knowing how I got there. If there were a pattern, I wouldn’t have stayed in the mental hospital for so long.”
“No pattern? No trigger?” Li Huowang looked at him skeptically, seemingly unwilling to believe what he said.
After all, they were enemies. These words might very well be lies meant to deceive him.
“Should I torture him?” The thought crossed Li Huowang’s mind, but immediately he shook his head violently. How could he think such a thing?
“There’s no good way right now. Fine, let’s find a safe spot, tie up this Qian Fu, and wait for his personality to shift.” Li Huowang picked up the cloth again, preparing to stuff it back into Qian Fu’s mouth.
Besides, he needed to hurry back to the residential complex. If his mother found out he’d snuck out, the trouble would be immense.
Just as the rag was about to cover Qian Fu’s mouth, he suddenly became extremely agitated, shouting toward the back of Li Huowang, “Miss! Don’t come closer!! Run!! This man is crazy!! Call the police!!”
At those words, Li Huowang instantly felt chill run down his spine. Oh no! Someone saw him tying up Qian Fu!
Li Huowang gripped the dagger and turned around, only to freeze in place, staring face-to-face with the newcomer.
“I know what you’re thinking. You’ve been causing quite a stir lately—I’ve seen everything. I’m not that foolish,” said Yang Na, holding her phone for light as she slowly entered the room. Her expression was complex as she looked at Qian Fu tied to the chair.
After opening and closing her mouth several times, Li Huowang finally let out a deep sigh. “Yang Na, trust me. Trust me. I really am not crazy!”
“Call the police! Hurry! This man is definitely insane! He killed people! Not just one!”
Hearing Qian Fu shout wildly, anger flared within Li Huowang. He punched Qian Fu in the face, silencing him completely.
Yang Na lowered her phone, walked over to Li Huowang, and rested her head gently against his chest.
Her voice was soft, tinged with slight hurt. “Huowang, I believe you. But can you tell me what actually happened? Whatever it is, I don’t want you hiding anything from me.”
“And why are you carrying a knife? Don’t touch that,” Yang Na’s delicate hands gently wrapped around Li Huowang’s right hand, which held the dagger tightly.
Feeling the tenderness in his arms, after struggling for a while, Li Huowang finally told Yang Na the whole truth.
“He truly has dual personalities. The other one is my ally, while this one isn’t. That’s why he struggles and tries to escape. That’s why I had to tie him up.”
“As for this dagger, I need a weapon for protection. Those people may attack me anytime. I can’t afford to be careless.”
After finishing, Li Huowang couldn’t help but feel anxious. He wondered what Yang Na would think after hearing his explanation.
At that moment, Yang Na moved. She took the torn cloth from Li Huowang’s hands and, under Qian Fu’s shocked gaze, stuffed it into his mouth.
Seeing Li Huowang’s surprised expression, Yang Na smiled softly. She opened her arms and embraced Li Huowang, planting a kiss on his lips.
Looking at Li Huowang, Yang Na smiled.
“I said I believe you. Li Huowang, no matter what you say, I believe you!!”
