Chapter 387: Three Trials

Chapter 387: Three Trials

Claude stared at Levi for a long while, the confusion within him deepening by the moment.

He inquired, "Have you truly never studied spatial magic before?"

Levi nodded and replied, "Indeed I have not."

"I am not even particularly familiar with the magical lore regarding spatial arcana."

Claude murmured, "How utterly bizarre. What on earth is happening here?"

"To rapidly master a spatial spell without possessing an astonishing talent for it?"

He pondered for a lengthy spell before turning his gaze back upon Levi.

"Could it be that you possess some hidden extraordinary trait or affinity for the spatial element?"

Levi felt a cold sweat; he possessed no such absurd hidden aptitude.

It was entirely a matter of grinding, a level of spellcraft forged through sheer repetition and mastery.

He cast a glance at the translucent script drifting across his field of vision.

[Spatial Exchange (Tier 1 Mastery)] 13/2000

In Claude's eyes, a mere hour had slipped away.

Yet within the realm of dreams, Levi had already practiced the Spatial Exchange spell over a thousand times with undivided focus.

Amassing a fraction of experience with every single attempt, he had only just reached his current proficiency.

Levi spoke up, "Thank you, Senior, for granting me this spatial spell. Might I ask how much the Spatial Rend spell costs? I ought to head back and prepare the funds."

Hearing this, Claude looked at him and said, "You still wish to learn Spatial Rend?"

Levi nodded, "Yes."

"No charge," Claude declared with a grand wave of his hand.

Levi’s face register surprise.

"Senior, what do you mean by this?"

Levi hesitated for a moment, asking in sheer bewilderment.

Claude stroked his beard, a smile blooming on his face as he said, "I shall set a few problems for you. If you can answer them all, I will give you Spatial Rend free of charge."

Levi's eyes lit up, "Is Senior speaking the truth?"

Claude chuckled and said, "What? You do not trust me?"

"Back in the day, I was the Spatial Tower's number one... ahem, never mind. Listen well, here is the first problem I shall set you."

Claude looked at Levi, speaking with utmost gravity.

Levi glanced at him, acutely catching the phrase "number one."

Doubt rose in his heart; what exactly was this old man's true identity?

Number one what?

The strongest powerhouse? Or the greatest scholar?

Or perhaps he was simply boasting.

Claude reached into the spatial pocket at his side, fumbling about.

He withdrew a magical scroll and handed it over to Levi.

Levi’s expression turned puzzled, "What is this?"

Claude replied, "This is the first test. So long as you complete three trials, I shall allow you to learn Spatial Rend for free."

"You will know once you open it."

As Claude spoke, the corners of his mouth curled slightly, seemingly harboring some minor trickery.

Unaware of this, Levi opened the magical scroll upon hearing the prompt.

Whoosh!

A silver light erupted from Levi's body, and he vanished from the room.

The very instant he sensed the spatial fluctuation.

Levi knew that the object in his hand was a teleportation scroll.

He had assumed he would be transported to some specific location.

However, once the teleportation scroll took effect, Levi felt his vision plunge into darkness, and light never returned.

Suddenly, a flash of silver light darted past Levi's eyes.

Levi’s thoughts stagnated for a brief instant before hindsight caught up, forcing him to realize his current predicament.

"Damn it!"

Levi could not help but swear aloud.

This was a teleportation scroll whose spatial coordinates had not yet been finalized.

He was now trapped within a spatial rift, unable to leave.

Because the teleportation scroll lacked spatial coordinates.

Levi was utterly dumbfounded.

What the devil was this old man playing at? Did he intend to kill him?

The teleportation scroll in his hand was still waiting for Levi to input spatial coordinates.

Only then could a complete spatial teleportation be executed.

Yet Levi had absolutely no inkling as to what spatial coordinates to input.

The spatial coordinates for Spatial Exchange were a coordinate system he established with himself as the origin.

Now that he was stranded inside a spatial rift, establishing a coordinate system with himself as the origin was completely useless.

Levi required a concrete, physical spatial coordinate.

Rather than a relative spatial coordinate. Levi’s scalp tingled, burdened by the distinct sensation of having been swindled.

Claude fetched a chair and sat down, munching on melon seeds while watching Levi devise a countermeasure.

His face was full of jovial smiles, hoping to see Levi's latent, hidden potential stimulated.

If Levi’s body harbored some manner of latent potential that had not yet been awoken.

Under such environment, it would be the easiest to draw out.

After his initial anger, Levi quickly calmed down, searching for a way out.

His mind whirled rapidly.

The radiance of the spatial teleportation scroll in his hand was gradually dissipating, its energy steadily running dry.

The time remaining for Levi was running out.

Seeing that there was still a time limit, Li Wei couldn't help but feel anxious.

Looking at the object in his hand, suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck him.

Li Wei had an idea.

He took out items from his spatial ring and cast the space exchange spell.

The spatial coordinates were random.

Once, twice, three times... the spell failed.

The spatial coordinates exceeded the casting range of the space exchange spell.

Currently, Li Wei could only exchange items within a five-meter radius.

As long as he successfully exchanged an item, it meant the coordinates had narrowed down to within five meters around him.

Li Wei would then obtain the real spatial coordinates.

Back in the room.

Claude's original intention was for Li Wei to unleash his spatial perception ability.

To stimulate instinct.

But he never expected Li Wei to actually use dice-rolling to find the answer.

The method was crude, but indeed effective.

After countless attempts that he had lost count of, the object in Li Wei's hand finally disappeared, transforming into a plate of sunflower seeds.

Claude reached out to grab the sunflower seeds, but suddenly touched something sticky.

He was startled.

"What the hell is this?"

Upon closer inspection, he realized it was the flesh and blood of some magical beast.

For a moment, he was completely stunned.

What was going on?

How did my sunflower seeds turn into a pile of flesh?

Was there a bug in the world?

Perceiving the subtle spatial fluctuations, Claude suddenly understood. He quickly got up and moved away.

Bang!

Li Wei's figure appeared on the table, holding a plate of sunflower seeds in his hand.

Claude looked at the sunflower seeds in Li Wei's hand, his eyelids twitching.

This was completely different from what he had imagined.

It hadn't worked at all, failing to stimulate Li Wei's awakening of spatial perception talent.

Li Wei placed the sunflower seeds on the table and put away the poisonous scorpion beast meat from the table.

Just moments ago, he had been furious at Claude's outrageous test question that nearly cost him his life.

After returning, Li Wei only wanted to know what the remaining two test questions were.

Quickly!

Don't delay my learning of the spatial tearing technique!

Li Wei looked at Claude and said, "Can I consider myself passed?"

Claude nodded helplessly.

Although the method of passing was different from what he had expected, Li Wei had indeed passed his test.

Claude said, "Your method of passing surprised me. But in this case, all the conditions I created for you were wasted."

Li Wei frowned, puzzled. "What do you mean?"

Claude shook his head and said, "Forget it. Even if I explain, you probably won't understand. Let's begin the second test."

Li Wei said confidently, "Bring it on."

Claude said, "Catch me. If you touch even the hem of my clothes, you win."

As soon as the words left his mouth, Li Wei reacted extremely quickly.

Bang!

He pounced toward Claude with tremendous speed, so fast that Claude almost didn't react in time.
