Chapter 417: End, Harvest

Chapter 417: End, Harvest

Boom!

Li Wei cast the Meteor Fireball Spell.

A colossal meteor over a hundred meters in diameter plummeted from the sky.

As it descended, the matter within continuously transformed into energy,

becoming an enormous fireball that crashed down upon the earth.

The grievously wounded Netero looked up at the massive fireball falling and stood motionless, making no attempt to react.

Because he knew, before such power, any struggle would be futile.

Death was the only destination.

Outside the secret realm, inside the Spatial Tower, everyone witnessed what happened on the island.

All wore expressions of shock.

"What's going on? Who cast the forbidden spell?"

Someone cried out in disbelief.

"Never mind that! Quickly teleport everyone back!"

The elder of the Spatial Tower reacted immediately.

He hurriedly activated the spatial formation, transporting all those inside the secret realm back into the tower.

White light flickered continuously across the plaza outside as participants returned one after another to the safety of the Spatial Tower.

Suddenly, his expression turned grim.

"Damn it, there's one person we can't bring back."

"Who?"

"I don't know. There's some kind of force on him preventing spatial teleportation."

"No way. I've tried several methods but none worked."

"Shit!"

"Damn it! Under the attack of the forbidden spell, the entire island will probably be destroyed. Staying there means certain death!"

"No, there is still one place where survival might be possible."

"Where?"

"The stone bridge where the hidden arena lies. We set up a defensive formation on the bridge capable of withstanding a full-force strike from a seventh-rank attack."

"Tell him quickly to take refuge on the stone bridge. Once the forbidden spell ends, we'll go get him."

"I already told him. The forbidden spell has been unleashed. Time is running short for him."

The Spatial Tower elder felt somewhat helpless.

Each participant was precious to their respective families; if casualties occurred under unexpected circumstances, it could lead to very negative consequences.

Upon receiving the message, Li Wei found himself surprised.

He had even prepared to use his chance at Nirvana Rebirth to endure this wave of explosive damage,

then hold on until the final hour to claim the fragment of the Magic Forbidden Scroll.

Unexpectedly, there actually existed a safe spot to avoid harm.

Li Wei immediately flew toward the stone bridge.

He exerted all his strength.

Using Fire Release techniques, he darted swiftly across the island.

Under the brilliant glow of the giant Meteor Fireball Spell, the disturbance caused by his movement went unnoticed.

Everyone focused tensely on watching the descending fireball.

From afar, Netero fixed his gaze on Li Wei.

Too weak now to launch another assault against him.

Bang!

Li Wei crashed onto the stone bridge.

"Damn it, I need to activate the magical array to trigger the defensive formation."

Now, only he remained within the entire secret realm—who else could challenge him?

Without challengers, the magical array wouldn’t activate.

Remaining here served no purpose either.

Looking at the incoming meteor fireball,

a sudden realization struck Li Wei amidst his anxiety. He hastily summoned White Netero from his beast ring.

The moment White Netero touched the ground, the magical array on the stone bridge activated.

A spatial defense formation capable of resisting a seventh-rank full-power strike unfolded.

Besides participants, Netero also qualified to challenge the arena master while on the island.

At the last moment, Li Wei recalled this rule.

Less than two seconds after the spatial defense formation deployed,

the meteor fireball smashed into the island.

At impact, the stone bridge beneath Li Wei’s feet shattered instantly.

The whole island and sea surface seemed kneaded like dough by tremendous force—greens, blues, yellows, blacks—all mixed chaotically together.

Li Wei watched as land overturned and soared into the sky. Watched seawater recede rapidly, revealing dense reefs and corals beneath.

Then came the earth-shattering explosion.

Li Wei lost hearing instantly.

Even though not facing the direct impact point of the meteor fireball, closing his eyes tightly still left his vision blanketed in white.

Blinding light pierced through his eyelids, imprinting itself onto his retinas.

Rendering him completely blind and deaf.

Buzzing sounds filled the air!

The spatial defense violently trembled, threatening to collapse at any second.

Everything beyond vanished as if erased.

After what felt like half an hour—or perhaps hours—

faint white light appeared along the horizon.

Night had passed; day was approaching.

Whoosh!

The mournful howl of the wind roared in Li Wei’s ears.

Apart from the stone bridge beneath his feet, the entire Twin Peaks island had vanished.

A massive crater now gaped open upon the endless sea.

Splash!

The noisy rush of seawater startled Li Wei from his awe at the power of the Meteor Fireball Spell.

He looked around.

Seawater surged back into the destroyed island, forming a colossal whirlpool.

To humans, this was an immense and terrifying abyss—

Over sixteen kilometers in diameter, more than a hundred meters deep.

Yet to the endless ocean, to nature itself,

It was merely a small depression.

The seawater poured in, burying all traces of past destruction.

Before long, the sea would reclaim this place entirely.

Everything that once existed here would be hidden beneath the waves.

No one would ever know that an island had once stood in this spot.

As the one who wrought this devastation, Li Wei felt a profound shock—and guilt.

He had destroyed countless lives.

Perhaps that was why forbidden spells were forbidden.

Magic too dangerous to be used.

Their damage was simply too great.

Li Wei gazed into the distance. At the bottom of the crater, a dazzling purple light flickered.

“Shadow Servant.”

The Shadow Servant, controlling the white body of Nitro, swiftly descended toward the crater's base.

Three minutes later, it returned to Li Wei with the remnants of Nitro’s corpse.

It was an irregular, crystal-clear purple star stone.

No—it should be called a Purple Star Crystal.

All the power of Nitro, who had been half a step away from legend, was condensed within this single crystal.

Li Wei did not know what use this Purple Star Crystal held.

But since it had survived the impact of the Meteor Fireball Spell intact, it must surely be a treasure.

He stored the crystal away.

Waiting for the final moment to arrive—to retrieve the fragment of the Forbidden Magic Scroll.

Crack!

Li Wei heard the sound of breaking. He looked down.

The spatial defense formation embedded in the stone bridge had shattered.

After bearing all the damage, it had finally succumbed. The array collapsed starting from its weakest point.

Once the first crack appeared, it wasn’t long before the entire spatial formation gave way.

To his surprise, as the formation crumbled, a hidden item buried within the stone bridge was revealed.

He obtained the fragment of the Forbidden Magic Scroll earlier than expected.

Even Li Wei was taken aback.

With the scroll fragment secured, he released the Void Chains coiled around his body,

Preparing to return to the Spatial Tower.

Only to discover that due to the effects of the Meteor Fireball Spell, the surrounding space had already become wildly unstable.

Until space calmed again, he could not return to the tower.

A figure emerged from the skies above the Tianqiong Continent, slicing swiftly through the air and entering the endless sea.
