Chapter 383: Power to Shatter the Void
Chapter 383: The Power to Shatter Void
Lewi seized the transcendent trait of the Holy Spirit.
By chance, he awakened the superior Flame Lord's transcendent trait.
He gained the elementary Flame Rule.
Just like the instant-death effect imbued upon the Blade of Judgment,
this was a power of rules.
Deities commanded laws, shaping the order of heaven and earth through them.
Mastery over rule-based power marked the first step toward commanding law itself—
the very path to godhood.
Yet for Lewi at this moment, speaking of becoming a god remained far too premature.
Merely possessing an elementary rule fell vastly short of divine realms.
After acquiring the elementary Flame Rule, Lewi’s flame temperature shattered its previous limits, nearly capable of endless elevation.
The once unreachable "purple fire" now seemed almost within grasp.
Before, if Lewi wished to raise his flame’s heat and gain greater fire,
he could only accumulate strength ceaselessly, compress energy, enhancing temperature indirectly.
Now, with mastery over the elementary Flame Rule, such tedious steps were unnecessary—he could directly control the rise in flame temperature.
There was virtually no limit, so long as he could withstand that immense force.
The superior Flame Lord trait brought qualitative enhancement to Lewi’s might.
He lifted his head, scanning the surroundings.
His gaze burned like fire.
A mere glance could ignite objects outright.
Such was the ability granted by the elementary Flame Rule—
already beyond worldly norms, defying comprehension or explanation.
With his current knowledge of magic, Lewi struggled even to understand the powers he now wielded.
Only those versed in fifth-tier, perhaps even sixth-tier magical theory would begin touching upon the domain of rules.
After all, legendary mages had but recently begun grasping rule-based forces themselves.
Lewi drew forth the Blade of Judgment.
Having obtained the elementary Flame Rule, he could now sense other existing rules.
The sheer scale and complexity of natural rules overwhelmed him; they were difficult to fathom.
Though powerful, the rule embedded in the Blade of Judgment stood singular and clear—and thus more comprehensible.
A flicker passed across Lewi’s eyes.
On purely the level of rules alone, the instant-death principle tied to the Blade of Judgment far surpassed the elementary Flame Rule in strength.
He estimated it must be either mid- or high-level death enforcement.
Forged from the Fangs of the Death Wolf, the Blade of Judgment was pseudo-legendary gear.
Those fangs could wound true legends.
Its accompanying rule had to be at least of advanced grade.
Sheathing the blade, Lewi extended his hand, summoning a fireball into his palm.
No incantation was needed—merely a thought sufficed.
The ambient fire elements coalesced obediently into form.
Employing the power of the elementary Flame Rule, he elevated the fireball’s temperature.
It rose rapidly, soon surpassing tens of thousands of degrees.
Lewi felt his mana reserves draining swiftly.
In moments, the fireball reached millions of degrees.
Even he began feeling strain.
Narrowing the area affected by heating,
the fist-sized orb shrank to the size of a mung bean.
Its glow turned pure white—a blinding brilliance.
As the fireball contracted, Lewi sensed relief from pressure.
He pushed further still, raising its temperature anew.
When the tiny orb hit ten million degrees, his mana neared exhaustion.
Space around started warping slightly.
Here gathered energies exceeding reason—
enough to distort reality itself.
Eyes narrowing, Lewi transformed fully into the Flame Lord, unleashing his fiery domain.
The concentration of fire elementals in their native plane dwarfed that of the material world.
Here, the potency of his flame realm surged anew.
Focusing intently on the pinpoint light before him,
it became impossible to recognize what lay there as a simple fireball anymore.
Drawing fire essence from a hundred-meter radius to replenish his mana,
he poured everything into raising the temperature higher yet.
He wanted to test the absolute limit.
Ten million… twenty million… thirty million… ninety million… one hundred million degrees...
At the instant when the temperature breached one hundred million,
the fireball vanished without trace.
Shock crossed Lewi’s face.
Silently staring at where it disappeared, he wore a look of deep contemplation.
What just happened?
Where did the fireball go?
One hundred million degrees—the concept derived from the elementary Flame Rule—had been his benchmark.
After prolonged reflection, two possibilities surfaced in Lewi’s mind.
First: the upper threshold of flame temperature under the elementary Flame Rule was precisely one hundred million degrees.
Exceeding one hundred million degrees transcended the limits governable by elementary flame rules.
It pierced directly through dimensions.
Thus, in Li Wei’s eyes, once the temperature surpassed that threshold, the fireball vanished outright.
Secondly, the spatial fabric of the Fire Elemental Plane could only withstand heat up to one hundred million degrees.
Beyond that point, space itself was burned through.
The fireball disappeared.
The former involved deeper, more esoteric rules; the latter touched upon arcane spatial principles.
Li Wei had no way to verify his speculations.
After all, surely no one else would be as bored as him—spending such tremendous effort endlessly increasing the temperature of a single fireball.
*Whoosh~*
Li Wei exhaled deeply, releasing the tension coiled tightly within him.
Regardless, he had at least confirmed that the elementary flame rule was indeed formidable.
A flame of one hundred million degrees—
Li Wei couldn’t imagine what could possibly block it.
Still, under normal circumstances, even he could not conjure a fireball of such intensity.
Only here, on the Fire Elemental Plane, with its abundant elemental energy as support, had he barely managed it.
Based on the magical element concentration of the Material Plane, Li Wei reckoned he could at most create a fireball of twenty to thirty million degrees.
Though falling short of one hundred million, it was still something nothing could withstand.
His purpose for coming to the Fire Elemental Plane had been fulfilled—and he’d even gained unexpected rewards.
Li Wei was thoroughly pleased.
He raised his hand and incinerated every trace left behind by the Sacred Spirit Rebirth ritual.
Preparing now to depart this plane.
“Shadow Servant.”
He summoned the shadow servant back to his side.
Abandoning the beast’s body it had possessed, the shadow servant swiftly returned.
The beast, regaining control of its form, immediately turned tail and fled—daring not even a glance back at Li Wei.
Li Wei walked toward the direction of the planar teleportation array, as he remembered it.
“I’m heading back.”
*Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!*
Above the sky, a colossal figure flew past.
Garuda, its massive form blotting out the heavens, paused briefly above the spot where Li Wei had burned through space.
It hovered, searching for something.
Finding nothing, it turned and departed without delay.
“How strange… What was that surge of power just now?”
Garuda had sensed an immensely powerful yet faint ripple of force flash by in an instant.
Following the direction from which the disturbance came, it searched—but found no source.
To Garuda, any being capable of generating such a level of power must at least rival itself in strength.
For a legendary-level existence to suddenly appear on the Fire Elemental Plane—
That was no small matter.
Unfortunately, despite the search, not a trace of such a being remained.
Li Wei arrived at the Firewood Grove and located the teleportation circle he had used before.
“Good thing it’s not broken. I hope it still works.”
Seeing that the array remained intact brought a slight easing to his breath.
He activated the circle.
It functioned normally. A smile crossed Li Wei’s lips.
“I’m going back.”
He looked up. A giant fiery bird soared across the sky overhead.
Garuda glanced down.
And then—Li Wei vanished into the teleportation array.
